    There was an epic hurricane here last Oct. - that’s the Gulf of Mexico coast in the U.S. and that changed life considerably, clean up is still going on n people r still trying to get home repairs done, hard when one lives in a small rural area, anyway all that to say l have truly missed getting to paint, tuned u in again as l love your style n choice of subject...now my hope is to be able soon to get out the paints again SOON! Thanks so much for the time n effort for posting these, from Florida with thanks many many times!

    Oh wow, really getting my Tischler art experience vitamin dose this week! First your UA-cam portrait video, I've just started part four of the Winter Landscape video, and now this. Love the banter and humour in the mini videos. It's always fun to watch you 3 together. And ignore them regarding the drone. The images are amazing and worth all the effort and the occasional crash!

    Hi Andrew, Sorry about disrupting you and your friends at the Rees Valley location. Honestly , I never bother anyone like that but it was just too unexpected to see you “for real” on location - so without thinking I had to stop. Really appreciate how well you took my intrusion! I can say that the real person completely matches the likeable youtube persona! Thank you!! I started painting in oil when I was 11 years old ... a very long time ago and I stopped when I was about 13. It is artists like you on UA-cam who inspire and encouraged me to pick up brush and paints again so many years later. One day I will try my hand at oil paintings but for the moment I stick to water colour and acrylics. Thank you again and all the best from Auckland,👍👋 Dieter

    One thing I enjoy seeing is when Plein Air artists have this vast expanse of scenery, how you can focus on a relatively narrow slice of it to paint. It’s a lesson to me on how not to be overwhelmed by all that scenery!

    I had TKA (total knee replacement) a month ago, still in lots of pain, and have been unable to paint for fear of wrecking whatever I start (although I've done a few drawings in preparation). Your videos have helped me as they teach me how to use various mediums and varnishes, to be aware of the difference between and mixing qualities of similar colors, and to choose elements of my compositions, what to keep, what to disgard. Nearly as important, you've entertained me with friendly, lucid explanations throughout. Thank you, Andrew!

    Painting live from nature looks like hard work. But still, every painting in this video are amazing! I don't paint outside and after watching this video I suddenly understood why my landscape paintings have no feeling to them. When we take a photo, camera captures all the details and shapes and colors and values. When we paint outside, we feel the atmosphere around us and amplify elements in our painting to achieve those lively feelings a real, live landscape gives. As always, I learned something new and very important by watching your video. Yey!

    I was really looking forward to this video, I had been following all three of you in Instagram and watching the little bits and parts of this that had already appeared there, like the "NUGGETY!" part and where all the children shout. Always amazing to watch. By the way, I REALLY, REALLY wish Freeman White started a UA-cam channel of his own, like, to pick the brains of another great painter. (I already follow Sam, thank you). Anyway, great video, I love watching your videos.
    After watching this and your portrait tutorials I couldn't help but think, you can't leave burnt umber, can you? After reading Virgil Elliott's writings I have grown a little afraid of it, and have tried to replace the typical ultramarine + burnt umber combo by ultramarine + venetian red (with this one you don't actually reach too dark, but nice grays come out of this) or transparent red oxide. With the latter I have to add more blue to compensate, but it works out in the end.
    I'm going to remind my gf to carry a good load of insect repellant when we decide to visit New Zealand, LOL!

    • @AndrewTischlerArt
      @AndrewTischlerArt  5 років тому +3

      Good point. I'm still not sure how much of the fear of umber is over-kill. I need to do more research! I will try this colour combination and feature it in a video.

    • @reneejaspers5322
      @reneejaspers5322 5 років тому

      @@AndrewTischlerArt I think Virgil's opinions have to e thought out a bit. He wouldn't use liquin either, and I think you have proved yourself to be a very thoughtful artist. I find that liquin is a very good medium, and does stop some of the umber from sinking. And then again it's a lot to do with how you varnish.
