Drew Carey took over as the host of The Price is Right since fall 2007 after Bob Barker retired after 5 decades as executive producer & host of the show!
Once season 42 airs I'll watch every episode
Vanna’s a drill sergeant on wheel! Hup two! Hup two! Hup two!
She is the XO/SNCOIC(Senior Non-Commissioned Officer In Charge) breaking in new CO is part of that. He might be in charge but has a lot to learn. He is the new Second Lieutenant/Ensign, maybe First Lieutenant/Lieutenant Junior Grade if he's lucky. Vanna is the E7 or above(in my dad's and both my late grandfather's cases, all three of them were/are USAF veterans, she would be a Master Sergeant or above. Most likely after 40+ years she'd a Command Chief Master Sergeant at E9)

After Alex Trebek passed away, Jeopardy went through a trial period of potential succeeding hosts, before settling on Ken Jennings!!!
It shouldn’t be the same but just takes some getting used to.

Ryan Seacrest is going to have to do this right. There are a lot of people who are diehard fans of Wheel of Fortune. They are the jurors on how he does. I'm rooting for him.

Ryan definitely looks ready. But the big question is, will we be ready? For me, I'm not so sure, or better yet, I may not even be. Things are just not the same on the Wheel of Fortune set, without Pat Sajak, though I did feel that he was at the age, where it was time to take one last big spin of the iconic Wheel.

I like Ryan, he's probably the best choice for this. I still think Wayne Brady would have been excellent for this too.
But you have to understand he’s dedicated to Let’s Make a Deal but I agree not a bad idea
Ryan has actually hosted a Merv Griffin show before, that's probably what SONY was thinking to avoid another Guest-Host shenanigans incident like what happened with Jeopardy!
It was also known that unlike SONY, Pat, Vanna, Charlie O', Jim and later all hosts familes actually bought every vowel in their history (which is why the Edd Byrnes pilot and some Woolery Wheel episodes slipped into GSN Marathons when Merv Griffin passed, same with most everyone at Jeopardy! clued in about Art Flemming.) that they would have only had a short list set about who and probably actually had thought about how would Merv Griffin have selected the host?
Merv would have
A) Either selected someone who had hosted one of his shows before (Ryan did a Teen GS called Click! in 1997) or a variant thereof (David Sidoni and Tanika "Cyber Lucy" Ray on Wheel 2000 which is where the current pick a category for the bonus round format came from.)
Or
B) do a complete unknown like with Pat and Vanna and tell the Network to get over it.

They still should have teamed Vanna and Maggie up, OR, either brought back Bob Goen from the daytime version that aired in the 90's or promoted Jim Thornton to host. Vanna is awesome though, I have loved her every since she has started. A true beauty, both inside and out.
It would probably continue to be debatable for Vanna as the new host, given that it turned out to be this way for her performance, when filling in for Pat, and while she also declines to give it another go, Maggie may be having another commitment, from what I’ve read.
It's all about Vanna now!
So far, folks have been concerned about the Daily Mail giving what’s likely a bs story about the longtime co-hostess possibly retiring before the end of her contract. The source tends to give garbage stories, but we shall see what someone has to say about this that’s triggering the fans and some other news outlets.

I don't think the show is going to make the ratings with Ryan seacrest he's a good host for American idol I don't think he will be a good host for wheel of Fortune it's just my opinion

We’ve lost Alex Trebek in 2020 & Bob Barker just a few months shy of his 100th birthday late last Summer. Now that Pat Sajak has retired from hosting Wheel of Fortune, which along with Jeopardy! was created by Merv Griffin, Ryan Seacrest has a LOT of work ahead of him.

Couldn’t Wait To See Ryan Hosting!
Funny he’s pulling a vehicle because I read the show will stop offering cars, maybe not right away based on this but soon. I also read about a newer smaller set. I’m wondering how it’s all going to look when all is said and done.
All we know about the new set is that only the wheel and puzzleboard are staying, and that the new set can't accommodate cars.
It would also be nice if they could get rid of that neon eyesore that's been there since 2003, I'd like something more metallic like 1997-2003 was again, but in a new color instead of gold....maybe put emerald up there since one of the main sayings is "Big Money" and that's what you think of when you think of Wheel.
@@timepilotcluefinder94 Both the puzzleboard and Wheel are staying the same, though from a blurred image on TikTok it looks like they're being changed back to gold from blue. Everything else will be changed.

You know what’s funny? It’s that when someone probably said the same thing when Pat Sajak replaced the original wheel of fortune host Chuck Woolery in ‘84.
Why didn't Vanna take on the hosting duties? They could have taken the opportunity to update the show and eliminate the needless parading.
A debatable hosting performance when she filled in for Pat, back in December 2019, and having also said that she wants to be at the puzzleboard, there’s currently some uncertainty over the longtime co-hostess’s future with the show. All this originally came up from the Daily Mail that’s known for its unreliability.
Don’t mess this up Ryan.
Pat hosted the show for over 40 years.
That’s a lot to live up to.

I will not be watching with him taking over. The show ended when Pat left.

This show should just end. The contestants get dumber and everything's rigged. I stopped watching after Season 30 .
