    Really happy to see you continue this series! It’s really interesting to see how anime rose in these countries!

    When you're in a weebing out contest and your opponents are Mexico/LATAM and France 😰
    Man, you guys are more Japanophile than I thought, and I literally live in a country that's so close to Japan. I also wonder why these kinds of video pop up in my feed every now and then (about France and their otaku culture). Maybe have something to do with my sudden fixation in the Astérix series on UA-cam😂 but I digress.

    For my generation, 1998, MCM was the biggest manga channel. It was a rap/rock music channel but it also had Dragon Ball, One Piece, Bleach, Nicky Larson (City Hunter), GTO and many others for its prime time.

    You should Make a video about anime in Poland or somewhere in Africa like Nigeria or South Africa because My friend from Poland said that there aren't really much Polish dubs for anime And when I looked it up the only 3 I saw that had Polish dubs were Neon Genesis Evangelion dragon ball and pokémon and Nigeria has more of a history than you would think same with South Africa

    A few corrections for the dub section:
    - Dubbing Brothers' work on Pokemon was only for the three first movies, and their work on Evangelion was only for the Rebuild movies. I think Dubbing Brothers' most famous anime work would be Miyazaki movies.
    - The Lylo works you mentioned were actually not recorded in France, but in Belgium (where there's also Lylo), which has quite a big industry of voice actors since those from France went on a strike in the mid 90s. Besides, Lylo Belgium is mostly known for One Piece since 2017.
    - SOFI was responsible for all the animes dubs for Club Dorothée in addition of DB/Z/GT. But their quality was very... Varied. Some were good (Ranma 1/2, Patlabor, City Hunter, Captain Tsubasa) while others were horrible (Hokuto no Ken, Sailor Moon, Urusei Yatsura...). After the end of Club Dorothée, they kept dubbing animes for a while, which, again, were a hit or miss. Some were good (Sonic X, Ojamajo Doremi) and some were bad (Digimon, DBGT), and sometimes even abysmally bad like the first dub of One Piece which only lasted 52 episodes, and had like only two or three voice actors to dub everyone.
    With that in mind, it's nice to see videos about french anime culture from an outside point of view ^^

    Les francais love anime more than their own works. How many French people I've met who adore ONE PIECE or DEMON SLAYER over even TINTIN, OGGY ET LES CAFARDS or INSPECTEUR GADGET surprised me in my trips there.

    France is actually the second biggest market for manga in the world right behind Japan. At least that's what I'm always hearing, I havn't verified that information.

      It may have change with the rise of animes and mangas in countries like the USA or China, just because of their population.
      It's hard to say, because it's hard to measure. Do you count physical books ? Subscription to on-line comics ? Not easy.
      But at least, we can stay it's still highly popular in France.

    How decent I will say that in this case perhaps you will talk about another section of another category of another topic that is about the Megaman Zero saga Well then, it would be obvious, look, wait, if it is not your topic, this is not for the main content of that case either, but I will say that it would be excellent

    En ce concerne les animés, on a eu Grendizer 1978 et Captain Harlock en 1980. Je pense que cette première génération en France c' est battu pour que l' animation Japonaise et les manga soient reconnu comme un art et pas comme de vulgaires dessins animés de bas étage.
    Cette passion s' est transmise entre les génération et je pense que le succès de One Piece est le résultat de toutes ses années de passion et d' amour pour la Japonisation en France.

    Why french animation isn't it up to par with its bande dessinée?

    • @dalriada7554
      @dalriada7554 27 днів тому

      Bande dessinée is usually a work of love made by one or two people. And unless you're among the top sellers, you won't generate a lot of money.
      Animation requires a lot of people, who are doing it because it's their job, and requires therefore a lot of money. In France, it's not worthwhile.

      @@dalriada7554 in france it's not worthwhile? On the contrary, in France it is worth adapting his incredible comics into animated series. In fact, France has the best comic in the world, far superior to the Japanese (manga). I get the impression that you don't know much French comics.

    • @dalriada7554
      @dalriada7554 26 днів тому

      @@glomibabel1894 I know French comics very well. I also know the cost of doing animation.
      It's awfully expensive and time-consuming.
      You have some animation in France, it's true.
      Ankama with Wakfu for example. Or cartoons like Lou.
      But except if you're supported by a major franchise liek Fortiche with Arcanes, it's hard to break outside France and some neighbouring countries. And it's hard to be sustenable.
      And some of our best comics are not made for animation. Imagine putting something like Wika or The Metabarons on screen, it's unrealisatic.
