This is not easy to do but I have begun to realize it is worth the effort to try and get this into your swing because it is what separates the really good under 10 handicap players from the average 20 handicap players. I tried this on the range a couple of days ago and couldn’t believe the difference in strike and ball flight when I was able to push the hips back. Going to continue to work on this move to see if I can incorporate it into my swing. Great video with 3 drills to try and get you there.
It's like you made the video specifically for me. This is exactly what I've been working to fix. Thanks!
Good well explained video, definitely be trying this at the driving range
This is what I have been looking for great video
CHOWN! Great video!
The chair drill channel 😀
Haha the chair is the star of the channel!
@@jchowngolf it's great. Train, sit , repeat!
Fantastic lesson. Than you so much
One tip with this - you have to be good at side bend to make this work. Meaning your shoulders really need to be pointing downward at the top of backswing. If your shoulders don't point down and instead pull up towards the horizon, your hips will get thrust forward towards the ball in order to maintain balance. You have to create and stay in proper posture. Pulling the shoulder line up will fight against pushing the hips back. I noticed I was doing this in a recent video. Now I'm focusing on proper side bend as I rotate back. That needs to be correct in order to have a chance at proper hip motion like this. Same thing in downswing, get that right shoulder pointing down to help keep and the hips back. But not too much down or you will injure your back. You have to find the proper balance of side bend/tilt without injuring yourself. Practice in the mirror. Good luck all.
Great vídeo and explanations. Just got your « early extension » course and started working hard on thé robot causes and practice drills. After a lot of years trying to correct my few inches remaining of early extension, I’m confident to have good results for the spring thanks to your great course. Keep grinding hard on it. 😊
Love the slomo comparison analysis. You should do a sample customer analysis.
Great foot work at 2:38 .. I love how yo have your right foot rolling nicely .... #bossMOVE
This seems like one of those things that's way more important than we think it is.
Excellent!
Thanks Greg!
Such a great and simple way to do it. I can totally feel the difference. I struggle with over the top as well as hosel shanks in early warmup. Tried this at home and feels completely different. Will this help my driver swing as well?
Thanks Tim. Absolutely, great for driver too
Sometimes I worry that your swing and technique are just way too athletic for my ageing inflexible body. But then I see how you made this video lesson just for me so I’ll have to follow it😂🙏
Remember that I have cerebral palsy which gives me severely limited flexibility. If I can do these movements, the vast majority of golfers of all ages can, it’s all about the practice 👍🏼
When I push the hips back the miss is always on the toe now. What is causing that?
What is the size of your hitting net set up? 10 x 10 x 10? I’m thinking of purchasing one to regularly practice. This set up looks to work well for you. Cheers.
You nailed the exact size 👍🏼
Is this movement aggressive & short or long & slow?
How do you keep your right foot planted on the ground for so long after your downswing? I think this is crucial to stop me from spinning out and maintain my posture but find it very physically challenging and also feels kind of weak?!
Pushing the hips back is the key Elliot 👍🏼
i keep chunk it everytime i doing this? whats the problem?
Most likely your weight is staying on your right side
You do this same lesson with the wall and chair drill like 20 videos lol. Keep up the good work tho.
It’s a drill that can be applied to a huge amount of different faults and train a ton of amazing moves 🤙🏻
😁👍
Thanks Milorad!
Notice the wrong way your right foot is way off the ground drop kicking the ball allowing the flip almost all your videos are what I’m working on .push that hip back and roll the right foot when you did it the right way your student picture his before right foot was down but then after his lesson his right foot was way up he just needs to keep it down or roll the right foot and he’s mastered it
