Thank you for this testimony. These pedals have been on the market for years, good sign, and I hear only good things about them. I bought a pair and I can’t wait to get them and try them out.
I keep plenty of these as they have a good colour selection and my clients often ask for them . I have mid - blue ones on my Giant Boulder custom build shopping bicycle . I keep Japanese made bearings for them as spares .
I had some survive years on my DownHill bike. They were still good until I caught a pedal on a tree stump. That bent the pedal, crank arm and ripped the thread out of the crank. So it takes a bit to write them off. Can recommend.
Derek's review leaves a lot of unknown factors in the reporting on the usage of the MG1 pedals . Every user of these pedals will have a different experience . I have sold & fitted many pairs of these & people are still asking about them . Many newer pedals may not be as smooth without paying a premium for them . Some bmx riders I have supplied have worn them out in as little as one year .
i have exactly the same wellgo pedals that you heve they are very strong and light..i never have problem for 3 years now..i bought from Amazon 40 dollars
I rode for a few hours brand new and they *both* broke up and ruined my crankset. I see they, just like Vans Sk8 Hi's that are made in Vietnam, have the privilege of being very cool, have some pretty guy endorsing them and yet last less than a month after *actual ware* unfortunately!

I have a set of these (and they're still going strong). They're very under-rated by most people.

Broke up in a few hours new, out the package.
Reminds me of those cool Vans Sk8 Hi skate high tops that tore up after the second washing.
are the holes on the ends wide enough to accommodate pedal straps?
These are wonderful pedals!!!!!
Any maintenance done to them?
What size are they? I have big feet.
Have you serviced them?
I was thinking of how often he has serviced them
Just some oil spray when I oil my chain and wheels.
