Minor spoilers, but much later in the comic Doc makes a comeback, and I legitimately thought for a few pages that the work of Doc Seismic was done by a Viltrumite or some other absurdly powerful entity in the Invincible canon.
He’s pretty good tbh a bit insane but the man went out like a champ, I would have loved too see him alive and invincible be less busy with life and all other stuff we wished happened could make a whole fan fic. But beyond that he’s okay he just has a thing against the government for some reason 😂😂😂😂😂

WOAH I just noticed this, in the fight Abraham Lincoln’s head gets pulled out from the monument. The Immortal which we know from his flashbacks was Abraham Lincoln for a time got his head chopped off by Omni-Man and eventually got reconnected to his body courtesy of the Mauler Twins which Invincible also did to the monument head (putting it back in place)
Oh I forgot he was Abraham Lincoln. He honestly deserves to die to. Lincoln said if he could’ve ended the war without freeing the slaves he would’ve. And ever since I learned that I’ve hated him

When you have a good portion of your population that does not support the idea of fighting a war for black people, a smart politician says he doesn’t want to make the war about freeing black people. Studies of his personal life and beliefs reveal a much deeper and personal intention of making the war about freeing slaves, but he was afraid of saying or doing that until he was sure that he had the people’s support. He didn’t want to alienate a huge portion of his voter base. And even if he said that truthfully, doesn’t mean he deserved to die after all he did end up doing.
I like how the writers were able to make jokes about political correctness without villainizing or even taking a side on it by having Doc seismic's PC personality juxtapose his mad scientist deal instead of just going for an easy "Woke bad" joke. Really just hammers home how good Invincible is.

A few things: Seismic’s headaches must be affecting his thinking to a degree. Also I love his usage of the seismic waves he creates, especially using them to fly off the ground and use them for essentially seismically created telekinetic blasts. Although he should’ve worked out the overheat glitch. And he’s really woke, for a weird scientist

He's actually not quite a joke character. Despite how generic he is, he's a pretty big threat and gets progressively more powerful as the series continues. You'll be surprised at what he can do later.

through the whole fight he makes the same moves to make attacks, its cool to know that the bracelets are just tools that need controls/inputs to use, unlike in other shows where they seem to just control the equipment by the mind. back to forward - long range attack shockwave 1:23 up to down tap - hover 1:45 down tap to any direction - short range attack shockwave 2:21 cross arms to up - large AOE shockwave 2:31

Honestly I really like Doc Seismic. He looks like a mad scientist who highly educated in several fields of human physiology, he manipulates the ground like a geokinetic superhuman, he’s flexible and agile like an aerokinetic superhuman, and he uses gadgets like a scientist
I gotta respect Doc Seismic for minoring in the arts. Really shows a commitment to having a well-rounded knowledge base, even when pursuing a specialization. More academics should be open to doing the same.
I like that he was actually really competent and that move where he just obliterates the bolder before it hits him, hes just a dude with some mid level tech and hes absolutely a threat.

@ericlin2611 yeah, thats kinda my point, his tech in this universe is only mildly impressive to the average person and not anything stellar compared to the other supervillians, and yet he is absolutely a threat to regular people AND to the heroes. Hes small time and they dont make him out to be some kind of wanna be or weakling, he sets the bar for everyone else. the computer head guy whatever is a major threat to the heroes, and then the GDA comes in, and just deactivates him like hes a MacBook. They do the scaling so well on establishing power levels
This is one of my favorite fights in the show, great layout, good choreography, the animation rolled off itself elegantly, every part playing off itself. Nice asides from each character too
This scene is one of the reasons Invincible was such a good superhero show. This was an incredibly fun and creative fight, with an entertaining one off villian, and some fun rescue work.
The liberal arts background reveal, followed by "...BUT ENOUGH POLITICS!" had me wheezing for some reason. I love the little details in all these side characters so damn much.
It's like they actually got some good writers for this show. Still not nuts about how they handled Amber, but it's one way to pave the way for Atom Eve and Invincible being an item.

Which is weird as hell when you think about it. Invincible can survive lava, lightning, and energy blasts without a problem, and yet he nearly died because one guy punched him really damn hard. Admittedly that one guy was Battle Beast, but still.

If you wait like 3 seasons or so when Mark fights Conquest you will see that thats practically child play,Omni-man isnt actually the strongest of his race,far from it,hes most likely not even in the top 1000,the strongest character we have seen so far is Battle Beast,and he was going soooooo easy on Mark its almost laughable,it also wasnt that Nolan didnt want to save his son,its more like he knew he had zero chance against Battle Beast
Nolans in like the top 3 of currently Alice viltrumites, with there only being thragg and maybe conquest as his superior. He's strong enough to threaten to rip anissa apart for making mark uncomfortable and it to be taken seriously.
Is anyone else impressed that Dr. Seismic was able to either spot Invincible throwing the rock, or heard it coming and react with enough time to shatter it at the perfect moment!? All while still delivering information on his educational background with barely a pause longer than a blink?! For God's sake, the man only looks in the rock's direction for a few seconds; otherwise he doesn't move more than absolutely necessary! That shit is impressive! I wonder if any of his timing/reflexes could be attributed to that "African dance" line?
This felt like a scene from a completely regular kid's superhero cartoon. It was nice for a change. Also, is it just me or Eve has the same powers (and looks) as Gwen from Ben 10?
As someone that thinks up superhuman abilities and characters just for the fun of it, I absolutely love characters with niche tech and unique abilities like Doc Seismic's gauntlets. They're incredible because the fundamental force behind their operation is simply vibration. By knocking them together, he generates a small amount of kinetic energy that reverberates through the components, then some mechanism inside them amplifies that tiny little wave into immense Destructive shockwaves. On their own, they're only bracelets that make really loud bass boost noises, but with a little creativity, Doc Seismic shows just how powerful something as simple as a soundwave can become. Amplifying them to Geologically devastating explosions or regulating them to create lift so he can hover. Granted, in reality, he would have obliterated his hands on his first try at using them, since they sort of service to direct the shockwaves where he wants them, and being that they're just above the epicenter of these incredible bursts of kinetic energy, they'd have no chance at withstanding it. Unless somehow he's managed to direct the waves around his hands and not through them. But still, the fact that this incredible fight scene is possible because a madman harnessed the power of just being really loud excites the creative part of my mind.
AND THEN THEY BREAK. AND YOU GET TO SEE THE THINGS REACTING TOO SENSITIVELY TO THE IMPACTS HIS HANDS MAKE ON ANYTHING. THE FORCE IS NO LONGER FOCUSED PROPERLY, AND THE SYSTEMS WITHIN AMPLIFY LIKE THEY'RE SUPPOSED TO, BUT WITH TOO LITTLE AMOUNT OF FORCE TO TRIGGER THE AMPLIFICATION OF THE ENERGY. THE GAUNTLETS ARE STILL DOING WHAT THEY'RE DESIGNED TO, JUST INCORRECTLY, RATHER THAN EXPLODING OR CRUMBLING TO SCRAP LIKE MOST CARTOON TECH TENDS TO.
Despite being a rather filler fight,it sure was fun as hell to watch. I really loved this scene cuz of how cool,badass yet entertaining it was. Dr.Seismic is a funny,goofy yet kinda cool villain. We get to see Mark and Eve team up with just the 2 of them and they make a great team together. 3:08 Also,love the animation of Mark spinning like a drill to save the civilians,such a cool,smooth and satisfying animation to watch

for those who didn't catch what this whole thing was about. there's this whole trend of making the bad guy a dude who has a good point or who has a genuinely good motive (more often than not with leftist ideals) only for the writers to turn him into a monster out of nowhere so you stop being on his side (like in TFATWS where the bad guys are anarchists who kill people and who are also terrorists, or when hellcat and iron man beat up that one guy who was against big pharma and who condemned the american health system as "a crime") robert kirkman was making fun of the whole concept by making this mad scientist a dude with an education in sociology and gender studies who called out the founding fathers as racists and slavers (which they were) only to "die" later
@@alejosssdo Yes, but context is important. The US, both the north and the south, was filled with white supremacists. Lincoln wanted to find a way to free the slaves, but also placate white supremacists. It was the constant struggle in his presidency. Many felt at the time (and still do sadly) that an integrated society was impossible. It doesn't change the fact that he felt that black people deserved the opportunity to improve their lives and live happily.

Honestly I really like Doc Seismic. He looks like a mad scientist who highly educated in several fields of human physiology, he manipulates the ground like a geokinetic superhuman, he’s flexible and agile like an aerokinetic superhuman, and he uses gadgets like a scientist
I gotta respect Doc Seismic for minoring in the arts. Really shows a commitment to having a well-rounded knowledge base, even when pursuing a specialization. More academics should be open to doing the same.
I like that he was actually really competent and that move where he just obliterates the bolder before it hits him, hes just a dude with some mid level tech and hes absolutely a threat.

@ericlin2611 yeah, thats kinda my point, his tech in this universe is only mildly impressive to the average person and not anything stellar compared to the other supervillians, and yet he is absolutely a threat to regular people AND to the heroes. Hes small time and they dont make him out to be some kind of wanna be or weakling, he sets the bar for everyone else. the computer head guy whatever is a major threat to the heroes, and then the GDA comes in, and just deactivates him like hes a MacBook. They do the scaling so well on establishing power levels
This is one of my favorite fights in the show, great layout, good choreography, the animation rolled off itself elegantly, every part playing off itself. Nice asides from each character too

This scene is one of the reasons Invincible was such a good superhero show. This was an incredibly fun and creative fight, with an entertaining one off villian, and some fun rescue work.
The liberal arts background reveal, followed by "...BUT ENOUGH POLITICS!" had me wheezing for some reason.
I love the little details in all these side characters so damn much.
It's like they actually got some good writers for this show. Still not nuts about how they handled Amber, but it's one way to pave the way for Atom Eve and Invincible being an item.

This was an outstanding fight scene that really showed how far Invincible and Atom Eve had progressed.
If you wait like 3 seasons or so when Mark fights Conquest you will see that thats practically child play,Omni-man isnt actually the strongest of his race,far from it,hes most likely not even in the top 1000,the strongest character we have seen so far is Battle Beast,and he was going soooooo easy on Mark its almost laughable,it also wasnt that Nolan didnt want to save his son,its more like he knew he had zero chance against Battle Beast
Nolans in like the top 3 of currently Alice viltrumites, with there only being thragg and maybe conquest as his superior. He's strong enough to threaten to rip anissa apart for making mark uncomfortable and it to be taken seriously.
Is anyone else impressed that Dr. Seismic was able to either spot Invincible throwing the rock, or heard it coming and react with enough time to shatter it at the perfect moment!? All while still delivering information on his educational background with barely a pause longer than a blink?! For God's sake, the man only looks in the rock's direction for a few seconds; otherwise he doesn't move more than absolutely necessary!

As someone that thinks up superhuman abilities and characters just for the fun of it, I absolutely love characters with niche tech and unique abilities like Doc Seismic's gauntlets. They're incredible because the fundamental force behind their operation is simply vibration. By knocking them together, he generates a small amount of kinetic energy that reverberates through the components, then some mechanism inside them amplifies that tiny little wave into immense Destructive shockwaves. On their own, they're only bracelets that make really loud bass boost noises, but with a little creativity, Doc Seismic shows just how powerful something as simple as a soundwave can become. Amplifying them to Geologically devastating explosions or regulating them to create lift so he can hover.
Granted, in reality, he would have obliterated his hands on his first try at using them, since they sort of service to direct the shockwaves where he wants them, and being that they're just above the epicenter of these incredible bursts of kinetic energy, they'd have no chance at withstanding it. Unless somehow he's managed to direct the waves around his hands and not through them. But still, the fact that this incredible fight scene is possible because a madman harnessed the power of just being really loud excites the creative part of my mind.
AND THEN THEY BREAK.
AND YOU GET TO SEE THE THINGS REACTING TOO SENSITIVELY TO THE IMPACTS HIS HANDS MAKE ON ANYTHING. THE FORCE IS NO LONGER FOCUSED PROPERLY, AND THE SYSTEMS WITHIN AMPLIFY LIKE THEY'RE SUPPOSED TO, BUT WITH TOO LITTLE AMOUNT OF FORCE TO TRIGGER THE AMPLIFICATION OF THE ENERGY. THE GAUNTLETS ARE STILL DOING WHAT THEY'RE DESIGNED TO, JUST INCORRECTLY, RATHER THAN EXPLODING OR CRUMBLING TO SCRAP LIKE MOST CARTOON TECH TENDS TO.
TL;DR:
Bass Boost Gauntlets are cool as shit and they would take a genius to use so effectively without destroying the user in one shot.

for those who didn't catch what this whole thing was about. there's this whole trend of making the bad guy a dude who has a good point or who has a genuinely good motive (more often than not with leftist ideals) only for the writers to turn him into a monster out of nowhere so you stop being on his side (like in TFATWS where the bad guys are anarchists who kill people and who are also terrorists, or when hellcat and iron man beat up that one guy who was against big pharma and who condemned the american health system as "a crime") robert kirkman was making fun of the whole concept by making this mad scientist a dude with an education in sociology and gender studies who called out the founding fathers as racists and slavers (which they were) only to "die" later

Lincoln wanted to find a way to free the slaves, but also placate white supremacists. It was the constant struggle in his presidency. Many felt at the time (and still do sadly) that an integrated society was impossible. It doesn't change the fact that he felt that black people deserved the opportunity to improve their lives and live happily.
