    Great tips Kate. Sometimes I think I know most of the tips but it's good to be reminded now and then. I'm still trying to figure out my H. Pubicalyx which is in a macrame hanger with a crazy long vine that moves constantly trying to find something to grab onto. It's quite amuzing to watch.

      @renatecormick7399 It can be quite fun watching them move day to day aye! I had a hoya in my kitchen once and its tendril would be in a different position every time I looked at it.

    My Pubicalyx is one of my favs, I’m running out of stakes long enough for my begonia angel wing lol she’s getting tall too, I love those star stem supports too, but some slip down the petioles and land almost onto the substrate when the petioles are really pulling in every direction
    A lot of your tips are dead on to Jan’s (Sydney plant guy) great tips!
    Our air con went out, so we’ve got to cover our east windows (morning sun in Canada) and I’ve noticed my Thsi con starting to face up at the grow lamp above it on the rack instead of facing flat/vertical towards the window from that lack of front light, can’t wait for the ac to be fixed cause my plants love that morning sun!! My big monstera has done similar, I’ve rearranged it and put a light in front now, I hope it returns facing forward instead of up

      @torquess454 thank you for your comment! :) Monsteras are so responsive to light direction changes, it always amazes me how much they can move their leaves to face a light source. Nature is SO cool! Aww I don't watch Jan's videos much anymore, but he does have some great advice!

    did your hoya pubacalyx always have that much splash or does it get more splash as the plant matures? i just bought one online but was disappointed that it came with very little splash.

      Hey! It had good splash from day one. Generally if a plant doesn't have good genes to start with, it might never get super splashy (but never say never, plants are amazing things) They sure can vary a lot!

    I have to say, I understand the logic in training the plants on poles. I love all your tipps! But i have to say - i really hate the straight poles. It looks to straight and therefore "unnatural" for me. In nature, they would climb other plants, trees, etc, and in my opionion, that would mostly not look that kind of straight.So I'd rather have it look more "messy" because it just feels more natural for me. Even If I have a climbing aid, I rotate it to slightly change the direction to not make it look like just climbing in a straight line tbh. Even if the plant might climb slower - thats just worth it to me.

    Are you using moss in your poles?

    • @wildvine.plants
      @wildvine.plants  2 місяці тому +1

      @paranjw No, I use either tree fern fibre or my growpole blend (which has moss and tree fern in it as well as some others). I'm a low maintenance kinda gal and moss is too much work for me haha!
