How would you pot it if the roots are right next to the leaf like some of those first ones?
Thanks for the usefulness. I used spag and perlite…did well. 😊
❤
Love the growth pattern of your gloriosum, so straight up and tall! Were you growing it outside or have a grow light from above? I have mine supplemented with grow lights and having it face forward toward the viewing side. Problem is the leaves are so large they started fighting each other.
I have it inside under a growlight from above :)
I have created a potting area in my garage because of good old Wellington wind so I feel your pain!
Not a silly idea!
The best way to propagate crawling philodendron, it’s to wrap the overarching stem at the air-roots with spagnum moss and a bit of wrapping plastic. And cut it when the roots are fully grown in the bag. The mother plant will produce more side branches for a fuller plant and more future props. And you just get a clean cut mother prop that’s easy to start and grows big fast.
@janswienink Yes that is true! I have done that before but this way is an easy/lazy way for me haha. I left it too long though because it was winter here in NZ. Usually I prop before it reaches the end of the pot.
@@wildvine.plants what I do with my Mc dowell, I just let it grow from pot to pot, while in the new planter layering the ground around the roots with spagnum. Some sticks to help it stand, after a few weeks the cut. It’s the ultimate in lazy gardening :)
Frustrating to put it mildly. If you have any large plastic bags( like appliances come in) they do great for keeping large (and beautiful 🤩)leaves until there's enough roots to support them. Only need it for a few weeks. Thanks for the editing... there's another utuber who puts in duck quacks that I appreciate alot. Well done on staying so cheerful in spite of how it must have felt.
@annylindsay5358 hahaha ah yes, the classic duck quacks are always a funny addition! Thank you for watching! We got there in the end and they're doing well in the greenhouse now 😍
I tried to up pot my variegated banana outside a few weeks ago & lost 3 leaves 😩 there was a lot of 🤬🤬🤬 too 😂🤭
Hahahaha oh I can imagine! It's frustrating aye, like how dare the wind interrupt a repotting session!
Wow jealous 😂
Thank you I'm 55 yrs old, for years I've killed my house plants....so today is my birthday I've brought 3 baby plants, and I'm going to be the best parent, I'm going to study house plants and grow them...
Beautiful plants 💚
Thank you :)
Wow your plants are absolutely stunning. I would love to know about how often you water what fertilizer you use and how you keep your leaves so healthy and shiny.
I just water them when they need it, which is usually every 1.5 to 2 weeks. I use GT foliage focus, which I highly recommend! I have that linked in the description (amazon) I clean the leaves occasionally with a neem based spray or I just shower the whole plant off with the hose from time to time :)
New plant friend 🫶😊
@@plantito-bong6586 Hi new plant pal!
Try neem meal mixed in your substrate for root mealies 😊 Beautiful plants…enjoy!!
@Plantlifewithnina I've tried neem but I hate how it goes all moldy and gross haha. Thank you!
Is the GT Foliage Focus OK to use on an anthurium andreanum or should I get their GT Complete Focus? All my other plants are purely foliage plants so I only have the GT Foliage Focus and GT Rootzone.
Oh absolutely okay! The complete focus would be good if you were wanting to help support inflorescence as well as foliage but to be honest I use FF on all my plants and they still push inflo out fine. Both actually work equally as well.
@@wildvine.plants that's great, thank you!
💚
I love the variegated, heart leaf philodendron
Ooooohhh yes, me too!
Nice sharing your plant tour. Amazing and beautiful houseplants.
Thank you!
Wow, I wish I could grow mine that wild, but in order to get them into the bathroom to treat for pests every few months that’d be a pain! So fun!! Have you tried your Anthurium in semi hydro? I know my Alocasias love moss on top of the soil to keep moisture into the chunky soil mix I have them in, I’ve got 2 Anthuriums in semi hydro that seem ok I’m jelly, I can’t make my Peru happy no matter what 😢 I’ve got 2 Gloriosum in one pot, facing opposite directions, they’re crawling away from each other, I’m def going to have to do something before it takes up a whole length of wall!
@@torquess454 Yes, I have a few Anthurium in semi-hydro. Oh wow, I can just imagine the gloriosum 😍😍
My fav is your birkin ❤ because I have difficulty with that plant 😂
@@iRedPlants yay! Love for the birkin! 🥰
I’d love to see the moss pole video idea
Cebu blue is so cute and skinny
@@MariahBenson-j4t Just like her mum 🤣🤣 JOKES!
wow! Such a long ceropegia
@AroundGrizzly Yeah she's wild! And been in that pot for so many years... I don't even want to think about repotting haha!
Gorgeous! Love the Gloriosum!
Everything is looking really great!! The philodendron cream splash I bought from you is looking really nice too 👍👍 When are you having stock of your small self watering pots back in? Your Gloriosum is amazing 😳😳
@heatherstephens9295 Aw thanks Heather! I am so glad to hear your plant is doing well, that makes me so happy! The small s.w.p will be in stock in a couple of weeks, they're on their way.
@@wildvine.plants all the plants I have got from you are doing well. Those little pots are great, so that’s good 👍
I love the Christmas Cactus in the disco ball pot. I have not thought of growing them indoors but I have to say your plant looks so much happier than what I have hanging under the patio roof getting far too much bright light. Thanks for showing your plants, they looks great.
@renatecormick7399 Thanks so much! The disco planter is fun hey, I wish the pot fit in it better but oh well, still cute.
Love it!! I’m transitioning my neon pothos to bio pon after seeing yours! I have no luck with soil either. Such a beautiful space 💚
@sezhendo6791 Aww thank you so much! Yess, highly recommend pon for pothos, so super easy!
Excited for the Varigated philo heartleaf! I'll be keeping my eye out :) I have a teeny tiny cutting at the moment so would love another :)
Love your plants
@@sokhachen4556 Thank you!
Hello from Georgia, U.S.A!!! Your plants are so beautiful and healthy looking, I really enjoyed your plant room tour!!😁😁
@@HookedonHouseplants-bv5mu Hello all the way over there! Thank you so much for watching :) 😀
Gloriosum goals! Mine was ‘removed’ from its pot by my dogs & trampled on. So it’s undergoing a journey to live again. One day I know it will be as large as yours 😃
@@kimcofield oh no!! That would break my heart. Luckily I'm allergic to animals hahaha
@@wildvine.plants they’ve done it to a couple of other plants, when they were younger puppies. Thankfully they’ve outgrown it & every plant survived
Beautiful plants ❤
Thanks gal!
😍😍 can't pick a favourite, they're all so good
Aww thank you! :)
Thank for repotting. Anthurium 😊👍
What is the substrate used ? Please share the details
Lechuza pon is the brand, but any pon works great!
Definitly the esquiluito nice to see someone growing plants in New Zealand. Im down in Dunedin so its a bit colder and less humidity than up your way.
Esqueleto is my fave too! Yeah we do have some good humidity sometimes but I know a lot of people in the South Island that grow plants just as well :)
I love my finale and Bubbles. I received my wishlist plant today. The Thai arrived safe and sound...its stunning. Always apppreciate you 💜
Awww yay, I am glad it arrived okay! It was such a cutie Thai with the best variegation :)
Those new pots look amazing! I’ve been looking everywhere for tower pots like that specifically for my anthurium. Also I have found with my anthurium they really enjoy being in pots quite a lot bigger than what you’d think they need.
@@Amossie_Tron yeah they're great! I'm liking them so far
What is the pitch black plant that’s on the cover picture of this video?
Its the red Philo mc finale :) I blacked it out as a bit of a surprise so when you watch the video you see the actual colour.
Thanks for showing your plant rescue, I hope they bounce back for you, your Warocoqueanum still looks great..I so want one of these! And a vittarifolium, Its so hard to find the strap leaf Anthuriums in NZ!
@karenelsworth489 I'm sure they will, spring is almost here! :)
I'm sure they will all love it 🌻
@margimorris7360 I'm sure they will too
I didn't see when you added the fertilizer. Was in the water already?
Yeah I dissolved it in the water off camera.
@@wildvine.plants okedokey! Love your videos, recently found you.
@@wildvine.plants thanks!!
What if the wet sticks don’t have the auxiliary bud? Will they still grow?
Unfortunately not. The auxiliary bud is where the new growth forms from.
I LOVE your plant window in the background!
I have to say, I understand the logic in training the plants on poles. I love all your tipps! But i have to say - i really hate the straight poles. It looks to straight and therefore "unnatural" for me. In nature, they would climb other plants, trees, etc, and in my opionion, that would mostly not look that kind of straight. So I'd rather have it look more "messy" because it just feels more natural for me. Even If I have a climbing aid, I rotate it to slightly change the direction to not make it look like just climbing in a straight line tbh. Even if the plant might climb slower - thats just worth it to me.
Great video, your plants look amazing.
Thank you so much!
useful hex. pretty hat leaf monstera. pretty monstera elbow. very funny exint.
I think the first one is a Hoya Pubicalyx Hawaiian
I like your channel. The botanical prints on hangers -- awesome. I was looking for a tour of your philodendrons...didn't see one.
