I remember years ago when this coaster originally opened. I was a kid on vacation visiting my grandpa. He decided to ride it with me. A man in his late 70’s that barely ever took risks riding his first modern coaster. He passed a few years ago but that’s One of the coolest coaster memories I have👍🏻👍🏻
Went on this in 2003 and it was one of the smoothest thrills I've ever had. Me & my brother went on it about 15-20 times in a row, most of the time by ourselves because there was no queues at all, though we didn't really understand why. Everything else for the whole holiday felt tame in comparison.
I did 4 times in one day (well 3 in a row and 1 at night!) it was my first major coaster before the others were built around there - tallest at the time, gf had to convince me because of my fear of heights lol 😅 it was amazing!
That drop is surprisingly great in the back row! Just rode it the other day after not having ridden for years, and I was shocked how great that weightlessness was! Kraken still kills it!
@@Fn.rope68as a first roller coaster for me (except for that cowboy railroad mountain one in Disney prior) this was amazing, I'll never forget it, 4 times in one day and once at night - was a bit sore the next morning 😅
Love the new paint! The other three floorless coasters built in 2000 are Medusa at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, Superman Krypton Coaster at Six Flags Fiesta Texas, and Batman Knight Flight at Geauga Lake, now Dominator at Kings Dominion.
I rode that ride yesterday for the first time and that ride was so scary I hold on the whole time. I even had to close my eyes when it was turning and going upside down.
@@JoseVelasquez-sm9ue is this good for a person who is kinda scared of coasters but went on expedition everest in disney… because i’m going next month and i’m scared of being upside down

It's interesting comparing this to Kumba. Lots of the same elements, but Kraken's are bigger and it makes them take longer to complete which makes it feel more... I don't know if "relaxed" is the word. Kumba feels more wild and relentless, where Kraken feels more epic.
Ok guys I was one of the girls that was screaming😂 I personally think it’s fun to scream in a roller coaster for absolute no reason but keep in mind I DIDNT KNOW I WAS BEING RECORDED so pls if u want to watch the video without the yelling MUTE IT and if u can’t that sounds like a personal problem😂😂 bye now🤭
I find the twist at around 1:40/1:41 to be the best part of the ride. You can't really see it here, but if you're riding on the right side it lurches and it's the best.
Thanks for the breakdown! 🤔 Need some advice: 🙏 I have these words 🤨. (behave today finger ski upon boy assault summer exhaust beauty stereo over). Can someone explain what this is? 😅
I’ve always loved this coaster and remember riding it as a kid and teen. The floorless design and long layout is incredible! Not as big a fan of the green colors, though. I know it seriously needed refurbishing, but the color scheme doesn’t seem to fit the theme of the ride.
They had VR on this back in 2016 but removed it after that year. Thank goodness they did so too, it was such a hassle to get on the ride when they had it
Stfu its probably their first roller coaster and besides a car that fast is unsafe cause you can injure yourself and others. Stop trying to be different and "unfazed" You don't sound cool, you just sound like a brat.

Why not? I am afraid of heights but my GF convinced me and I did it 4 times that day and once at night, it was awesome but I don't like the climb up, the rest I loved 😅
Shame, you missed out - it's a classic one of a kind in a way, but I've yet to ride Mako and Manta but one of those I saw on YT only had a lap bar and there's no way I'm going on that one lol, Kraken has over shoulder down to the seat. You're basically sitting on a stool on top of rails with nothing below your feet. If you get the chance definitely try it out in case they dismantle it for something different, it's really amazing and no video can show you how it feels (3.9G's and a Zero G section) astronauts experience 3G's taking off in a rocket 😅
