Oliver and Company is STILL my favorite Disney movie till this day and Billie Joel's "Why Should I Worry" is such a catchy song. Both the song and movie don't get the love they deserve. It at least deserves an Honorable Mention. Makes me sad. :(
We Don’t Talk About Bruno, Be Prepared, Let it go, Beauty and the Beast, A Whole New World, and Friends on the Other Side.
We don't talk about Bruno, eye to eye and a whole new world
Into the Unknown
Under the sea would be my top pick!
The entire Tarzan soundtrack fits under the category of “This didn’t have to go that hard”.
Especially if you add the Usher remix
Same with Brother Bear
phil collins really went and chose violence every time he did a disney soundtrack
Phill Collins didn't have to go that hard
No truer words have ever been said
Compared to the other picks, I2I is criminally underrated.
The movie is too.🥰 I was just thinking of watching it yesterday. It’ll be my 65,000th time seeing A Goofy Movie.
@@poolside123canadian7 true. If you watch goof troop then the movie it really hits you. A man that lost the love of his life does his best to make sure their son is loved, safe, and provided for. Then you watch a goofy movie. It's about both parent and kid accepting each other for who they are and keeping the bond that they have strong.
@@poolside123canadian7 I like your profile picture. I actually am slowly becoming a legend of Zelda fan, ever since I got Twilight Princess from Amazon. It's a really good game so far.
I sob like a baby watching the Goofy Movie panel video where Tevin Campbell comes out at the end and sings I 2 I...that shows just how iconic and significant it is to our generation.
@@allisonjohnson6399 yeah he still got it.
Honestly think “Why Should I Worry?” from Oliver & Company should have made it on this list. It’s underrated and it has Billy Joel singing to boot!
Damn right! This was one of my fav Billy Joel songs as a kid.
literally one of my absolute favorites
So true. That song was legendary
Perfect Isn't Easy is my favorite off of that. Great soundtrack all around.
YAS!
A Goofy Movie is the most underrated Disney movie with the most underrated soundtrack that is the literal definition of "didn't have to go THAT hard".. Powerline deserves his own movie. Imagine how hard that movie's soundtrack would be... Amazing!
One of my favorite movies.
I used to LOVE A Goofy Movie!! Watched it every day after school for years
Forever my favorite Disney movie 😁
Stand out is a bop
i agree, eye to eye made me moist.
During “I’ll Make a Man Out Of You”, I always laugh at “DID THEY SEND ME DAUGHTERS, WHEN I ASKED FOR SONS?”… yes they did.😂
I am glad I am not the only person
My fav part but the only one who'd love him is his mother
😂😂
"I'm never gonna catch my breath, say gbye to those who knew meee... Boy was I fool in school for cutting gym! This guy's got em all scared to Death, I hope he doesn't see right thru me... Now I really wish that I knew how to swiiim!" 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
@@SamoaVsEverybody814 We Are Men...
I feelike I2I should have been a bit higher ranked. I'm also surprised that "I Won't Say I'm in Love" and "I'm Still Here" from Treasure Planet wasn't ranked or an honorable mention.
Ugh, I’m Still Here is one of the greatest Disney songs that a lot of people don’t know about! 😭
Treasure Planet is my fav underrated movie. I’m Still Here is amazinggggg omg i so wish this song got more attention
Seriously..I still listen to I’m still here.,it’s so good
Thank you, I'm still here is one of the best songs in the fact that it wasn't in here really disappoints me
@@banana_etiquette seriously the most underrated movie, agree completely.
As underrated as it is, I am surprised that Savages from Pocahontas didn’t make it on the list! It’s intense and terrifying and powerful!
YES!!
I love that one.
I think the reason it didn't is because that one absoultely needed to go that hard. It's the climax of the whole film.
I came here to say this exact thing.
Its racist though...
The fact that a Tarzan song is just an honorable mention is criminal!!! That whole soundtrack was fire! 🔥
yeah the songs are so beautiful
I was so glad to see Hellfire on this list. Hunchback does NOT get the recognition it deserves. That movie is awesome! And for my money has the most epic opening after Lion King.
It's so good!
The Hunchback Of Notre Dame is one of Disney's most underrated movies ever. "One Day Out There" is amazing
Hellfire is an absolute banger
The movie is pretty good, but it's still the weakest of Disney's incredible animated '90s catalog.
Hunchback creeped me out so much!!! I saw it while in college once… I have never watched it again… just the scene replayed here is enough to give me the heebie jeebies!
The Lion King’s “Circle of Life” never ceases to amaze me! Everything from Lebo M’s opening chant to the grand, epic music that’s accompanied with the singing of Carmen Twillie is fantastic, and I love it!
Don’t forget how stunning the animation is.
@@vanessastegall Absolutely!
Best bass drop ever
I love the circle of life
Don't get me wrong, the version used in the film is iconic. But now a days, I love and prefer listening to the version sung by Elton John himself.
'Almost There' from The Princess and the Frog is an absolute bop, but so is any song from the film. Can't believe this incredible film didn't get mentioned!!
Which is exactly why they didn’t get a like from me this time 😭💔
He Mele No Lilo (Lilo and Stitch) is the only Disney music that never fails to give me goosebumps.
I liked that Elvis song at the end, I don't know what it's called I'm just gonna say "Temperature rising."
@@vermiciousknid2456 Burning Love. I sell a music box of that at my shop.
Tevin Campbell owned those songs on Goofy movie! I2I definitely should've been much higher on this list. In fact, some of those in the list definitely should not have beat Pocahontas or Tarzan to be honest
I can't believe they didn't even credit Tevin Cambell. Definitely thought it would be way higher up.
Right how Hercules get two and I didn’t know either of them
@@toriyt2714 facts! I was like what's going on here
@@benfranco3801 lol exactly
I was definitely slightly offend that they slept on Tevin Campbell like that
I love the muses in Hercules. They have soul and style in their songs and I love it
Very Dreamgirls-esque.
they add a lot of flavor to Hercules
another criminally underrated song is Oliver and Company-Why should I worry.
yOOOO exactly
My favorite Disney song!
That whole movie is criminally underrated
My pick for underrated Oliver & Co. song is Streets of Gold. It seems the go-to choice when picking a song from the movie is almost always Why Should I Worry, so I feel that at least an honorable mention is in order for one of my favorite (if not mostly looked over) Disney songs.
And we can’t forget the fabulous energy that Bette Midler’s performance brings to the song Perfect Isn’t Easy. (Honestly, the whole movie’s soundtrack is a personal favorite of mine.)
I recall it being popular at the time of the movie and Billy Joel being a big deal for singing it, but you're right, it's almost been forgotten. Absolute banger.
I-2-I defined my childhood. I remember many times practicing the "Perfect Cast", I memorized the lyrics, me and a friend created a dance to it. One of the most underrated and energetic songs in Disney's entire catalog.
Dishonest actions? Ursula was VERY CLEAR about the contract, her terms, the payment, punishment, etc. She was nothing but honest.
Especially when u have the importance and power of body language and looks
I think they could’ve been alluding to the fact that Ursula cheated towards the end.
@@amayajones68 and her ulterior motive to use Ariel as bait to catch King Triton.
@@CaptainCretaceous91 That part.
Yep, that and when Ariel doesn’t get her way (by trying to only use her 16 year old body!!) she sacrifices her dad and then gets her boyfriend to murder Ursula. That’s why I’m the end she is the bad guy in this movie.
And you know, the MOST jaw-droppingly awesome fact about "Be Our Guest" is that the man who voices Lumierre's Singing Voice....ISN'T FRENCH. He's from the BRONX! He got Accolades upon ACCOLADES for that performance.
oh yeah, I heard about that.
Yep Jerry Orbach was from Brooklyn and most definitely could do French without being French! Hard to believe that he's gone from this earth.
God I miss Jerry Orbach 😭
What does accolade mean?
@@glewglew9852 praise or an award for an achievement that people admire
My dad took me to see Beauty and the Beast the day it came out. The entire theater gave a standing ovation at the end of the song. I’ll never forget it.
One of my favorite movies. I felt so let down by the new on, especially with Be Our Guest.
It was the same for me too. I still remember it now
And there is so much characterization in the animation during that song.
RIP Howard Ashman. He made that film.
I also believe that a criminally underrated song in a Disney movie is "I'm Still Here" (or Jim's Theme) from Treasure Planet. I know that the movie was released during a transitional period between their 2D and 3D eras and wasn't as well received, but having the Googoo Dolls as the guest musicians not only fit the mood of an angsty "growing up" story, but also fit the 2000's time period. For anyone in their teens during that period, even now the nostalgia hits pretty hard, in my opinion, though going hard as far as sound quality, it hits emotions.
Thank you, Me Too!
One of my all time favourites is "Friends on the Other Side" man, that slaps💀💀
I can't help singing along to it everytime I hear it
Same I hum it occasionally and I haven’t seen the movie in years 🤣🤣
I was looking for this comment. It should have been on this list. In place of the Encanto song. that one blowed.
this is the comment me and my gf were looking for this song goes way to hard and easily deserved to be in top 5
For me, the Bruno song was just a footnote in Encanto and Surface Pressure was the star. Also, I think Be Prepared should've at least got honorable mention - it's a great song with great imagery and lyrical scene chewing, but it also foreshadows Scar's fate when he tells the hyenas that they'll be rewarded when at last he is given his due "in justice deliciously square" - and they make a deliciously square meal out of him.
Agreed. Bruno was fun and impressively well written, but Surface Pressure gives me chills every single time
I even know it in Japanese
This, all of this!
For me, I can't say any particular song was a footnote, except maybe the first one-- which, tbf is an info dump song so naturally it wouldn't hit as hard as the other ones, but it was definitely still catchy and memorable. But other than that pretty much the entire soundtrack belongs on this list, as far as I'm concerned
Those songs were way better in Spanish, except for pressure.
In regards to Frozen II: I know that "Into the Unknown" was supposed to be the "Let it Go" of the movie, but I feel like "Show Yourself" also deserves more credit. Like when Elsa sings "I am found" I literally started crying my eyes out. That song is so beautiful! And it came at such a good part of the movie (when everything felt so hopeless.)
If you watch any of the behind the scenes content, or even the 6 ep documentary on disney+, it's pretty clear the whole movie was building to "Show Yourself". I think they intentionally waved "Into the Unknown" in people's faces during promos because they knew everyone would be looking for another "Let It Go" but "Show Yourself" is such a spoiler that they wanted to keep it a surprise. For whatever reason it seems like the press never really caught up but anecdotally everyone I know who saw the movie prefers Show Yourself. It also has quite a few things in common with Let It Go in terms of structure.
Show Yourself is basically the Into the Unknown reprise, so I’m counting them as one song
I'd agree, except Brendon Urie singing "Into the Unknown" is everything.
IMO, the 90s was peak of Disney, it rejuvenated the company and while they've had some incredible hits since then, nothing compares to the hand drawn masterpieces that were one after another for the whole decade.
Oh yeah. Iman, they even made special paint for the gold in El Dorado.
@@heathercontois4501 - except that was Dreamworks...
@@chrisrj9871 I feel so dumb. I looked it up since I was co fused and you're right. My mistake.
@@heathercontois4501 hey everyone makes mistakes but the movie was funny
I couldn’t help but singing to all the classic lyrics especially eye to eye as one of my personal favorites. I always imagine seeing a real life PowerLine concert🎤🎶
Yup, sang along with all the songs too 🎶🎤
Stand out is great too. Goofy movie is sooo nostalgic ❤️❤️❤️
I remember reading somewhere that if you translate the Latin chorus in Hellfire, the lines are Frollo's conscience basically telling him "yes, you are the bad guy, stop!"
"It's not my fault. I'm not to blame." Latin: "It's totally your fault."
While i love almost every single disney song. There is one that will always be ingrained in my head and heart ❤. And that is "You'll Be In my Heart" by Phil Collins in Tarzan. My dad used to sing to me always when i was little to either cheer me up or otherwise. And i will Never Forget it Rest in Peace Dad I Miss You.
That's lovely! I honestly just got choked up reading that.
This made me tear up because I sing this to my two daughters when their crying to calm them. I’ve been singing it since they were babies.
♥️
R.I.P to your father, friend
I always thought "Go the Distance" from Hercules went hardest, especially the final note
the entire hercules soundtrack goes hard
@@lizaharris4517 True
As long as it's the Roger Bart/movie version. The Bolton/Radio version is just meh, at least for me. It takes an amazing song about a young man's quest and desire to find out where he belongs, and turns it into a generic love song.
@@nickdejager8873 I totally agree with you!!
That's passion, man. Lol
It may be true that these Disney songs have made absolute history for being as good as they are. but i agree some of them really didn't have any business being as good as they did, because a song doesn't need to be epic and catchy in order for people to like them.
hey i’m not complaining
@@spideysenses4275 Nor am i, i'm just saying.
Yeah
Circle of Life completely deserves the top spot. It's a freaking work of art. Not just the music, but the animation with it, the whole thing is incredible.
Yes!!
I was honestly not prepared for that going into the theater about 8 years old or so. I don't think anything has lived up to it since.
The Powerline songs in The Goofy Movie just get me going. There's something so special about them and they're great to just sing out loud if one happens to feel like it. The movie itself is greatly underrated.
All the songs but one are great in the movie (that possum park song was meant to be its own kinda bad in the first place). I want to say though, that the song that Goofy sings to Max on the open road _really_ likes to lodge itself in your head forever...
This has been such a good list. I2I would have personally been my #1. However, I'm so glad that you included Hellfire. It's such a good song but it gets overlooked all of the time (actually that whole movie is). I am sad that there was no mention of Under the Sea though
1) Circle of Life - The Lion King
2) A Whole New World - Aladdin
3) Tale as old as Time - Beauty and the Beast.
4) Be our guest - Beauty and the Beast
5) Cruella DeVil - 101 Dalmatians
I really think Tarzan should be on that list.
I have all those s movies on dvd loved the loin king and Aladdin
Great list
"I wanna be like you" from Jungle Book is always a catchy one too
Bells of Notre Dame literally hits so hard with all the harmonies
All of these songs just resonate so many different emotions every time I hear them. 😊💝
Also, I really enjoy “Stand Out” from “A Goofy Movie.”❤️
I2I is the best! and fun fact: Roxanne was my first crush as a kid.
I2I (eye to eye) is soo impactful on my life that whenever I see anyone with a powerline shirt I sing "Got myself a notion...". Salute to tevin campbell on the vocals🎶 Should've been hire on the list though.....
Sidebar: I got my powerline shirt from target.
I’ll be honest the goofy movie and the first hunchback of Norte dame is CRIMINALLY underrated
“I’ll make a man out of you” from Mulan and “I won’t say I’m in love” from Hercules always gets me going
I had the honour to watch Hans Zimmer live and in his tour he brought the man who sings ‘circle of life’ and let me tell you… Chills!! Everyone screamed in the theatre as it was a total surprise. What a song!,
It is my life dream to see him live!! I know I’ll cry like a baby because it’ll be so amazing and gorgeous!
@@wouldntyouliketoknow7054 i really hope you get the chance in the future 😄 it’s an unforgettable experience
You forgot Friends on the other side from The Princess and the frog!!! That song went crazy its a top 10 for sure!
Fun fact: the singer who played powerline is Tevin Campbell the singer who's famous for the 90s song "can we talk"
Should've swapped "Poor Unfortunate Souls" for "Friends on the Other Side" and "Surface Pressure" instead of "We Don't Talk About Bruno," "Hellfire" should've been higher, and "Why Should I Worry" deserved at least an honorable mention!!
I love you. "Surface Pressure" is the only song I really like from "Encanto". I was underwhelmed by the whole movie.
2:28 there is more development for every single character in that song than in the full movie remake of Mulan...but also, no one sings like Gaston...
The Mulan reboot was better than the original. I said what I said.
@@SS4Xani And you are in your right to be totally worng.
@@kacklina Yeah.
@@SS4Xani Og Mulan animation: Mulan actually has to train to just be a competant fighter.
Mulan reboot: Just give her force powers, and make her a chosen one, so she doesn't have to train that much.
Please don’t forget to credit Lebohang Morake, better known as Lebo M, for Circle of Life! His work alongside Tim Rice should not be forgotten, and the companion album of his work, Rhythm of the Pride Lands, is magical!
I think one thing that makes these songs so special, especially the classic Disney movies from the 80s and 90s, is the orchestration. So many instruments! 😍 I played in a symphony orchestra for years, and I love trying to identify each part in these complex songs.
I have entire playlists devoted just to the instrumental scores!
Fun fact. When "Friend Like Me" was written, they still had the concept of two Djinni in the movie, with the Djinn of the Lamp being a more neutral role who, in the end, has no qualms working for the evil Vizir... Which means it was, technically, written as a sort of villain song. And you can really hear it in the Ashman and Menken demo. But that villain song grit that makes it more akin to "Poor Unfortunate Souls" and "Be Prepared" than an amazing sidekick song like "Be Our Guest" is still present in the final version with Robin Williams... And that is a big part of what makes it go so hard...
Eye to eye brings so many lovely childhood memories. ❤️
So much so that I've added it to my Spotify liked songs list 😳
There’s a lot of reasons why The Lion King is King. The opening is so iconic, it’s powerful
Talking about going hard: as great as "Hellfire" is, "The Bells of Notre Dame" (the opening) is one of the greatest movie openings - NOT just animated - of all time. It's the very definition of "going hard".
Considering I2I and Powerline was voiced by a solo pop artist by the name of Tevin Campbell, makes me feel like the comment of a boyband/solo pop artist wasn't researched enough. I normally feel that watchmojo slipped on that one a bit. Love the list of songs and agree with it.
I was honestly hoping for; strangers like me, hakuna matata, I won't say I'm in love, be prepared, you'll be in my heart, you're welcome, and when will my life begin, to be in this list.
Yeah those song slap
“Be Prepared” definitely went darker than I expected, especially with the imagery
When will my life begin!!!
Belle and Mulan were my childhood crushes. Even though mulan isn’t a man she did showed people that women are capable of being strong and fearless as she did made a man out of herself.
Well, woman has the word man after all.
We Don't Talk About Bruno should have been an honorable mention and one of the honorable mention should have taken 9th place 🤷🏿♀️
I2I should have been higher on the list. I also want to inform you that Tevin Campbell was a solo artist before, and while, that movie came out.
Right! Tevin Campbell was a heartthrob at the time of I2I.....
I always felt like "I Want It All" and "Scream" and "What Time Is It" had no business being as epic as they were. Kenny Ortega and the HSM cast really did their thing with those numbers
EDIT: I know it's all animated but it's still true lol
Waiting in the wings and nothing left to lose from tangled the series. They are just amazing songs. The whole soundtrack is great.
The show blows the movie out of the water
As much as I agree with “Circle of Life” being the pick from The Lion King, I have to acknowledge the close runner-up that is “He Lives in You”. Nobody expected a song from the straight to VHS sequel to go hard, and yet it was hitting like it was in the original movie.
Even to the point, the Broadway version of Lion King added it into the show
Surface Pressure from Encanto not being on this list is a literal crime. *smh*
No lies told.
It was my favorite of the soundtrack
the whole soundtrack fits tbh😭 the family madrigal rap section goes so hard, waiting on a miracle is incredibly powerful, surface pressure is a whole bop wdtab is fun catchy and pivotal to the story, what else can I do is empowering and fun, dos oruguitas is emotional as hell and all of you is sweet and fulfilling
Under what charge could it possibly be a literal crime?
@@Compucles it’s a joke 💀
I have I’ll Make A Man Out of You as a workout song.
Next do "Top 10 Disney Channel Songs that didn't need to go THAT hard" because I knew there are lots of it from many of their shows
that's a good idea.
Agree
The Tangled The Series soundtrack springs to mind. Tangled: The Series had several flaws, but playing it safe was certainly NOT one of them...
It’s even more amazing that Jerry Orbach (the voice of Lumiere as well as the singer of “Be Our Guest”) also played the street-wise and wise-cracking NYPD Detective Lennie Briscoe on most of the seasons of “Law and Order” prior to his passing.
Speechless from the live action Aladdin was so amazingly deep that I get teary eyed just hearing about the song. Now, THAT didn't have to go that hard!!! :D
And I wont say I'm in Love from Hercules - adore that tooo
One more thing: Practically LIVE for Colours of the Wind!!!
If we're including the live action remakes, then we can't forget about "Evermore" from "Beauty and the Beast."
I wanna know how high and drunk the songwriters were in writing the song in making them go super hard 😂😂
better question, who comes up with these songs?
😂😂😂
I think the Disney song that blew my mind is Mulan I’ll make a Man out of you
Facts
I thought, and hoped that #1 would be; Scar’s Be Prepared from the Lion King. They really went all out to convince us, beyond the shadow of a doubt convinced, that Scar was truly evil. Talking about killing his own brother, and nephew, and the hyenas goose stepping like a certain unliked group of people. When the lights went on behind Shenzi Banzai and Ed, showing us thousands more hyenas, if not hundreds more, that ultimately cemented Mufasa’s doom on an epic level.
But Circle of Life is a close second.
I believe "Be Prepared " or the Lion King 2's "not one of us" should've gotten a mention
Oh Yes Deception from Lion King 2 is way to underrated I love that song and Be Prepared is such a villain classic
I watched this to make sure that "Hellfire" from the Hunchback of Notre Dame was on the list, and it was. Congrats, this is a valid list!
If I were you guys, I'd replace Let It Go with I'm Still Here from the underrated masterpiece, Treasure Planet. I mean, you can't deny the fact that John Rzenik and the Goo Goo Dolls did a really good job with that song. Not only did the song help show us the growing father and son-like friendship between Jim Hawkins and John Silver, but it also helped showcase Jim's inner struggles via flashbacks. Especially the final one when Jim's dad walks out on his whole family and that being the last time Jim ever saw his dad. That moment really hits home with a lot of people who suffered from parental abandonment like Jim had. And unlike Let It Go, I'm Still Here sends both a positive and inspiring message to pretty much everyone since it's all about finding your place in society, discovering your true self, knowing your worth, and not letting others put you down no matter what the circumstance is. What exactly does Let It Go tell us? Abandon your responsibilities, isolate yourself from the rest of the world, be selfish, and not give a crap about others who are suffering all because of you. How is that considered both a "positive and inspiring" moral again?
I have never seen Treasure Planet.
@@angelablack7946 Do yourself a favor and watch it ASAP. It'll be worth your time. You won't regret it. Trust me.
let it go has such an awful message and I am so glad songs that have similar themes but better more thought out messages that are way better executed exist eg what else can I do? - an ex obsessed frozen era child
@@lilac3266 Yeah. At least that song from Encanto wasn't originally intended to be a villain's one like Let It Go. Not to mention that fact that Isabella was never meant to be an antagonist like Elsa was supposed to be.
@@1992disney fr I don’t understand the logic of we dont want ppl to love the villian because she has a good song? like did they forget scar, Ursula,dr facilier?? ppl LOVE villian songs and elsa should have either been the villian or had more focus on her since she’s apparently a protagonist. Even with isabela she was shown to be antagonistic but she was fleshed out. She had reasons basically which I feel elsa didn’t. Like oh u accidentally set off an eternal winter because u cant control ur power? that’s believable until like 10 mins later she’s building a CASTLE??? like what happened to not knowing how to control it? With isabela we always knew her abilities and it’s believable when she makes something else because she’s already in control of her powers she just hasn’t fully unlocked them. Honestly Elsa’s whole character is confusing to me and I used to have a doll of her that sang let it go on repeat 💀
“I’ll make a man out of you” is impossible not to sing along to, and it’s my favorite out of all the Disney songs.
Though I do have to add, “Shiny” had ABSOLUTELY NO business being that insane. Tamatoa wasn’t even the main antagonist and shiny pretty much stole most of the movie.
I2I is my ringtone. It’s just sooooo catchy and captivating and highly underrated.
How is be prepared not on this list. That song goes hard!
I love every song on this list; they all belong in my “Disney+” playlist.😜 I LOVE that “Hellfire” and “I2I” were included. Hunchback of Notre Dame is underrated for being darker than most Disney movies, and I’m glad it’s receiving recognition. Almost the entire soundtrack is hauntingly beautiful and goes hard, especially with the chorus, such as in “Hellfire” and “Sanctuary.” It’s one of those movies you grow to fathom and appreciate more as you get older. A Goofy Movie is underrated, and boy, do I enjoy both of Powerline’s songs. Tevin Campbell did a fine job in this movie.👌🏻 If Powerline had a concert, I’d DEFINITELY go! The entire Tarzan soundtrack “didn’t have to go that hard.” Phil Collins did a spectacular job with the emotion and jungle feel in the background to the vocals in the songs. After watching this countdown, I’m convinced that Jennifer Hudson needs to play the main muse in the Hercules live action. 👍🏻 Ugh, I love Disney movies and especially their songs.😩😍
What about 'I'm still here' from treasure planet? One of the absolute most heart wrenchingly amazing songs from Disney.
Top 2 on this list should be "I2I" from a Goofy Movie and "He Lives in You" from Lion King 2... honorable mentions (anything from Tarzan soundtrack) lol also , Be prepared > Mother knows Best
I don't think they count He Lives In You as it's originally from the Broadway show.
I2I from Goofy Movie should have been #1!
Agree
Definitely! This song has no business being this amazing. Still need them to do an entire powerline album for me.
Man that song goes so hard,I can just listen to it on repeat as an adult.
Tevin Campbell (Powerline) is a whole legend who needs his flowers.
I love how in Be Our Guest, it's so obvious Cogsworth had no idea this musical number was comming up. He has no idea what was going on and didn't match the coreogrophy AT ALL, so he wasn't there for the rehersals lol. Yet by the end of the song, he's grooving to it.
Who else is still waiting for a Powerline album to come out? Because we seriously need one- 😩
I felt I2I was underrated and should have been higher. Circle of Life I have trouble taking seriously because the background vocals translate to "It's a lion hay it's a lion" and they just repeat that over and over throughout the song.
‘Circle’ Of Life’ is the top spot in the list of phenomenal Disney songs THROUGHOUT ALMOST 100 Years.
It really is an extraordinary song on every level.
121 - This is one Disney Song that really went soo hard for us. It's the main reason I remember the Goofy movie. Just Phenomenal
HellFire - my all time best Disney Villain track given it's heavy theme and Tone
I'll make a man out of you - I've never felt so inspired from a catchy Song such as this one
Colors of the wind - Words can't explain how amazing this song was. Beautiful doesn't even begin to cover it
Under The Sea - In my opinion, the catchiest song from the little mermaid. Should have been on the list
My top 5
1. We Don’t Talk About Bruno Encanto
2. Friend Like Me Aladdin
3. Let It Go Frozen
4. Circle Of Life The Lion King
5. Be Our Guest Beauty And The Beast
Encanto Bruno is definitely my fav!!
Eye to Eye has no business being back at #6. No one goes harder that Powerline 😎
Good list for sure, I am so glad you mentioned i2i, but "Hellfire" DEFINITELY had an impact on me when I saw it as a kid. I still believe he is the most tortured Disney villain ever.
However any song from the Tarzan soundtrack would be #1.
The best Disney songs are definitely the ones structured around something solid, like how Poor Unfortunate Souls is structured as a Waltz, Friend like Me around Swing Jazz (especialy Benny Goodman's) and Hercules's tracks based on Gospel singing. As for me, the sonmg that absolutely slaps is According to Plan, from Corpse Bride. To this day I just can't resist the "And thats why everything, every last little thing, every single tiny microscopic little thing must go... according to plan!"
Stand Out from a Goofy movie is soooo underrated. The whole movie is underrated
Omg Hellfire yes!!!! One of the best villain songs ever.
You said the live-action and Pixar songs deserved their own lists; looking forward to seeing those as well!
“Flotsam, Jetsam, now I’ve got her boys/
The boss is on a rooooooooooll!!!”
Yes. YES! OH GAWD YES!!!
Probably THE signature Disney Villain song.
“Be Prepared” is delightfully sinister, “Hellfire” is hauntingly monstrous, “Shiny” is singular in its unique style, but I think “Poor Unfortunate Souls” is the definitive example of why Disney villains have become so iconic and beloved:
They show how fun being evil can be 😈👍
#2 is hands down ICONIC and one of my favorite Disney songs!!
Agreed!💯
Two Worlds was so influential to me that I used it as the theme for my wedding! ^_^
121 really was a flex.
My childhood was awesome just with these songs.
Friends On The Other Side, perfectly fits in with Dr Facilier's character (and that of his creepy shadow too!)
“Can you imagine a solo heartthrob covering this number?” As if Tevin Campbell wasn’t a heartthrob at that time?!?!
no way you chose "zero to hero" over "the gospel truth" that s*t hit way harder in my opinion!
Hellfire is something that I think has gotten a lot of love in the past few years honeslty I never thought much of the song until I was older and it’s a terrifying song but it’s amazing at the same time
Saw the title of this and immediately hit liked lol great video!
