The mother cows used the long grass and Heather to hide the calfs from wolf lynx and bears when we had such predators in Scotland.
The highland calves are the cutest
i love your highlands. you are now my favorite to follow.
Fun fact: the cubes are cylinders.
😂😅😊
Aww she doesn't want her baby taken away
Teared up when the mom started licking her baby she hid in the grass .....beautiful ♥️♥️
We had a hard time finding our calves. Those highlands are really good at hiding them! Congratulations on the calf!!

This is THE sweetest video ever. I’m in lockdown here in Melbourne, Australia and your videos make my heart sing. Thank you so much.
Sorry that you're having to deal with the lock downs still. I'm glad you found our videos and hope you enjoy them. Lots of love from Oklahoma!
@@100AcreWoodHighlands thank you for your response. We are free again ( not completely). I’ve been thinking about getting a Highland calf for my daughter who has already raised a couple of ex dairy poddy calves. I just want to make sure that the breed is suitable for our climate here.
Thank you for your wonderful videos.

Baby Highland: A FUZZY FACE family member.
Highland's are so beautiful. You're videos are great
I was the youngest of 4 and I cried every year because my brothers and sister got to raise an animal to sell until I was 8 years old then It was my time to shine. I got a Lamb and I loved that damn thing so much. Well the time came and I discovered I was selling it and with my money, I was opening my first bank account. It sold for $55 and I was happy until they took her from me. Then I watched her get on the big semi-truck. As I was crying wishing her to have a good life my oldest brother came to me and said, "Yap, they gonna turn her into lamb chops" and he walked away.
That is a beautiful baby calf that your cow had. May God bless your herd this year. I can't wait to see the next calves that you have.

Hi, came over from Adler Farms!
Awesome video. Ever thought of using a drone instead to search for calves? (Probably write it off as an expense!)
It would be cool to have a good drone, good use for it

Congratulations calves are so much fun. This time of year be careful for fly strike
Josh, I've been doing a little research on fly strike. I'm trying to keep an eye out for any issues. thanks for the heads up
I can’t eat those whom I love 💗 🐄
I'm curious if a steak from these cows is much different than from regular cows. I don't like animals being hurt but we can't stop it and it's just something that I'd like to find out sometime
Guilty cheeseburgers for the rest of my life thanks
Baby highland cow has to be cutest creatures with those giant eyes and they love scratches petting anamals are better judge in caractor and you glow im a nice man
You own 100 acres land!? 😱
4:50 That's why you should never piss off a scotsman.... or scotswoman for that matter 😂😂
Good momma
LOVE
If i get 5 feet of a calf on one of my heifers she’ll horn the crap out or me. So far ive been horned 3 times just for getting in the corral and the calf ran at me. Fun at the farm.
i wonder if they're like the mares. mares will go off by themselves (in our case, we put them in foaling stalls) because another mare will try to steal their baby. foals dont have good vision the first week or so. they just follow anything big.
Since they developed slower should they not stay with their mother's longer than six months ?
Should try sitting and feeding them
What is the purpose of your cattle?
what do you do if a calf isn't growing?
The halter on brown calf looks very tite, too tite. Check it out. Vinny 🇺🇸
Thanks Vinny, yes that halter was only on iher for a real short time before she outgrew it
Those poor baby's where's their mama
😍😍😍
0:21 a cow is coming for you to FIGHT!! jk
Does she have mastitis?
Idk there was one I thought might have mastitis this summer but turned out not to be
There is something sinister in human nature. To make a nice, friendly, easygoing-song-in-the-background video about animal that you're gonna kill and eat.
At least these Highland cattle live in a nice organic setting rather than in a miserable factory where they don’t experience sunshine nor move around 🤷🏻♀️
Humans aren't herbivores. Other primates aren't either. At the least we are designed to eat 5/10% animal food. At most 50-80%.
