Seeing them fight on the giant roots of the Tree also makes for a very interesting visual. The effects that the tree has on Earth are shown beautifully with the enviroment being first shown as very peaceful and casual at the beginning and growing darker and more hopeless as the film goes on and the Tree of Might grows. We see electricity shortouts, panicking civillians, dying animals and so many other things that make you feel like the world is actually about to end in this movie, which many other films don't do. The choir music that is used to represent the Tree of Might is very memorable and one of the highlights of the DBZ Soundtrack to many, especially due to it being reused in Father of Goku. While the Evil Goku trope has been done very often, Turles is in my opinion the most evil out of all of them (Bardock cared for his friends and his people, Ginyu was still loyal to Frieza and Goku Black believed he was acting out of the greater good instead of his own desires like Turles). Therefore, I think it is very fitting to see this pure evil having his plan to kill Goku through the means of his own son foiled due to his inabillity to understand Gohan's gentle nature. Like fellow pure evil beings Janemba and Kid Boo, he is also fittingly defeated through a collection of pure good energy, but he did it first. I also think it's very satisfying to see Goku come through and win against his evil side, especially since so many other Movie villians don't really have anything to do with Goku.
Yes! I really agree with you. I dont know what this guy was saying, but the Turles movie was great, and wasn't really cliched as Turles is the first "evil goku" before black. It is one of my favorites other than Cooler and BOG

Broly is my favorite. The previous two movies were fun, but Dragon Ball is a franchise that has shown it can be more than just fun. It can have heart, it can hit you in the feels. And it was actually clever with how it subverted conventions.

So we have a movie about a good person who is manipulated by his abusive father, and Frieza, into fighting the franchise' main characters. Broly is so sympathetic that he quickly got fans rooting for him because nobody wanted to see him die. When it comes down to point where Gogeta appears and stomps Broly, rather than the typical cathartic moment why are used to seeing when a Dragon Ball villain gets beatdown, it's actually a sad moment as we see an invincible hero beating up a victim of the movie's real villains.
While Battle of Gods did breath new life in the franchise, it's one of those movies that to me doesn't hold up well when you think logically about it. Beerus is a fun character, but the idea that he ordered Frieza to destroy Planet Vegeta, or had any hand in it, was so stupid that Dragon Ball Minus and Super Broly had to clear things up and say Frieza was going to destroy the planet anyways. The idea that this new character we had never heard of before was really responsible for an event that was such an integral part of the franchise is just, nonsense. The concept of the destroyer gods doesn't make much sense either, why does a universe full of planet busters need a god whose job is destroy planets? To top it all off, there is Goku's character. This movie devotes itself to hammering the lesson that there is always somebody stronger than him. That would be a good lesson if Goku hadn't already been taught it before, twice. Even if you put aside the times the lesson was specifically taught to him in Dragon Ball, in DBZ, three of the main arcs ended with their respective villains stronger than him. Saiyan Saga, Goku lost to Vegeta and admitted he was the better fighter. Cell Saga, Goku failed to defeat Cell, leaving Gohan to do it. Neither of those things bothered Goku, he in fact wanted to see Gohan surpass him. Buu Saga, Goku was only bothered by his inability to defeat Buu because of the Earth being in danger. He was proud to see Gohan and Gotenks surpass him. Much like Resurrection of F regressing Goku's character to remind him that not killing villains is a mistake, something he still seems to have failed to learn, this movie reversed Goku's character growth for the sake of it's plot and moral. Along with Resurrection of F, it sadly led to Goku's worst aspects being emphasized in Super.

Also FYI how I would've done bio broly is have it be a cloned shell possessed by the vengeful spirit of the original broly and have it not turn into a pile of sludge on legs

Kind of depends what you want. Best fights are in DBS: Broly, hands down. It's just 30 minutes of jaw-dropping eyecandy. You can't top it. Best story is probably either Path to Power or Fusion Reborn. Both do an admirable job. For concept, it's hard. Most of the movies are rehashing the villainous concepts or plot arcs. Earth invaded by aliens, fighting 'Frieza' again, fighting 'Mecha Frieza', fighting the androids, fighting a pink monster that requires fusion, etc. I think Dead Zone probably has the best concept, because it deals with a fight that Goku actually can't win, but yet somehow the team wins anyway. Worst is Second Coming. It's bad. Broly is just a rage monster, the humor is dumb, Videl's a waste here, and the concept is bad too.
In my opinion best ones are Bardock: Father of Goku & History of Trunks. I pretend other movies don't exist. Even though Wrath of the Dragon made me cry (in a good way).
I think that Goku would love to team up with Saitama because Goku could have a really powerful human friend (not gonna debate one punch man to dragon ball) but if we're talking about comic book superheroes than i'd say thor because they both love battle.
