- Some years ago I was contacted by an outfit called Lost & Found Films. These guy make documentaries about any unusual people they deem interesting enough to make documentaries about. Since they’d have a fly out and put their crew together, this would have a be a planned event making it necessary that we set a date and place to meet. The location agreed upon would be in the Smoky Mountains. The date was set.
As filming began, I was amazed at the technology of their equipment. I’d seen nothing like it. The huge Star Wars piece I nicknamed “Robo Camera” could be strapped to the hood of a car, warn on the chest, or whatever, while being completely controlled with screen and joy stick from a remote location. There was a van so stuffed with high tech crap that I thought it might actually be the inside of a space shuttle.
For three days and a morning these guys worked me from sun up to sun down. Mostly, I just did as told and tried to accommodate whatever they asked of me. They wanted to see a camp; an abandoned house; etc. And of course, any philosophy I wished to through in.
It was certainly a fascinating experience to suddenly be an actor, the star of a movie, and the main center of attention. I mean, a technically homeless person with only one old motorcycle and a sleeping bag. Really?

My book “Josie’s Journey” is a not a motorcycle book, but rather a spiritual tale told in the story of one man’s journey to freedom. However, Josie’s is not a flowery yarn, nor does it venture anywhere near the sterile cleanness or deep phycological thought of many spiritual books:

Notice: I DID NOT MAKE THIS VIDEO!! It was made by a real documentary outfit called Lost & Found Films. Please check the copy I left in the Drop-Box of this vid. It tells all about my filming experience with them. Lost & Found does documentaries on folks they find interesting. They have plenty of others.

I remember this. I think it would not only be awesome, but a hit if done another, but and extended version. Do it with some Asheville with Jody's again, the mountains, some rally clips, some Mexico clips, some of the ups and downs of travels.
Awesome and beautiful video right on man
@@scootertrampscotty they need to make a full version movie of your life. I think it would sell if done right.dont let some outfit do it before you die.its your life and credit. An amazing life,be proud of how you are and lived.
Anybody over the age of 40 that rides a motorcycle and doesn't know who Scott is, really isn't a biker. Brother you may not have led off to be an inspiration and legend larger than life, but you are and always will be. Keep on rollin' that sunset isn't that far away.
Watch my ego!!
@@scootertrampscotty 😁
I have not seen lightning bugs in years and I live in the mountains....... Thank you After riding for over 40 years, my husband passed, and he was the wrench.. I could do basic maintenance but beyond that, to the shop.. They know when you are 60plus and a widow... Chaching!! Then diagnosed with terminal breast and brain cancer I gave the Shovel to my brother.. It has been a year and a half since they told me I had 3 to 4 months left, well here I am.. I had a 65 Pan with suicide shift ..and a 73 Shovel.. I so enjoy your story and wish I was 40 years younger and do what you are doing. Thank you for the ride... Peace Out.........
Much Love n Prayers to you from India, dearest Beverly ❤🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
God Bless ya Bev prayers for peace for you.
That was Beautiful.
God Bless 🙏
Ive known many who lived years beyond what the docs said. One cancer friend lasted 30 more.
I’ve probably watched this 20 times over the years and just watched it again.
Being a 55 yr old, who has been working all my adult life , I am living through part of it through your videos. I thank you again for sharing your ride through life man.
I hear that quite often. So i am going to offer u a quote from David Rockefeller, "I am going to enslave the America people using debt". End quote.
I hope you’re somewhere dry tonight. ( I’m almost sure you found a good spot like you usually do)
Ride on!!
Scotty’s quote from his early travels in & out of Big Bear Lake is my favorite: ‘First I hated coming home, then I hated being home’.
Awesome, awesome video. Thanks for sharing with us.
You need to make a feature film out of this. I think it would be a hit. You have led such an interesting life and are such a lifted storyteller. My favorite television show when I was a kid was Then Came Bronson. This was way better because I know it's real life, not some scriptwriter's fantasy. God bless you, Scotty. Keep up the great videos.
Bronson? Damn youre old!
Scotty, I think Dennis Hopper played Scooter Tramp Scotty in a movie.@@scootertrampscotty
Philisofical Tramp goes cinematic cowboy.......We have all been waiting for your feacher film to come out....
Fantastic" first production" film....As you know we all live vicariously through you....When you wind up on an old home stead, farm or residence that has been abandoned,You walk through the decay and beauty to share it with us....For that i am, we are, in deep, deep gratitude to you....
"There is nothing better that a man shall rejoice in his own works, for that is his position" God bless you Fella...
Thank you
Love it Scotty! This stuff needs picked up by discovery or travel channel.. velocity maybe. We need ..
Scotty you really must write a book about your life on the road. This video is just inspirational 😊.
@@nickclark8709 he's got a couple books out I believe.
I could sit and listen to your story for hours. Nice work, good job. Give me more.
I was a third generation roofer, working with my grandfather, father, brother, uncles, cousins,, until I was thirty. Quit and moved on to something else. I swear some thirty five years later I still look at roofs as I ride along…
Everybody's slice of heaven is a little different, Glad I found mine.
Thanks! I looked for this video many times and thought it was gone :)
It was, because they took my old channel down.
This is one of my favorite videos that was ever put out about you brother. You’re an inspiration! See you out on the road Brother and most importantly stay free!
I really enjoyed listening to your story, and lifestyle. BTW I think this is your best film production. You and others put a lot of hours into this one. It is excellent
Outstanding video Scotty. I would love to sit around a campsite and just listen to the story of your life on the road. You are living the life a lot of us wish we had the balls to. You take care and ride safe bud. Maybe someday I will have the pleasure of crossing paths with you.
It’s pretty easy to do he’s really easy to find in August lol
This is really well done. You have a tremendous philosophy on life that we could all use no matter the lifestyle.
If you don’t search your soul and feed it, it dies.
We talked about some of that last year (2023) at Sturgis. This was probably the video that clicked with me to make changes. My life is far less stressful and much more enjoyable. So thank you Scotty !! See you at Camp 5 lol !!
Long story I need to get ahold of you I'm experienced in this kind of life. Took, taking care of sick dead, dying parents, parent...would love to travel with u a season we have much in common I'm sure. I'm 53 I'm certain this is how I want to finish❤ much love brother I'm a good solid dude with integrity.cant wait to meet u some day. take care Brother
This is brilliant. Well done Lost & Found Films. Roy thought that was awesome.
Packing my saddlebags to move on to Bartlett NH tomorrow and took a break. Saw this popped up and watched it twice. This is beautiful Scotty! Thanks to you, and a few others, I realize there are two components to what I call "The Daily Unknown".
Fear, that everyone "talks" about.
Joy, that most people never "experience".
Thank you for being a friend.
Holy shit, Scotty, this thing is legit as hell Norman Reedus needs to play you in your life story
Scotty; watched this video again and just gets better. The music is excellent!!! God Bless safe ridin rubber down
Scotty, thats the best video ive ever seen man, i mean that. Your a legend brother...and when its your time, and not for a long lomg time yet, Joe should take your ashes and release them into the air as he's riding down a particular road of choice....
Your a true legend in my book scotty...
Kneez in the breez brother.
Great documentary. Bikers all across the country should create campsites for other traveling bikers. Place to rest, eat, sleep, take shower, do loudly, work on their bikes and make real friends that are like minded and live to ride free. Adult males life is pretty lonely. Something like traveling bikers camp across the country would be so nice 👍
Check out Bunk-A-Biker USA
It's definitely an epic journey you've traveled Scotty, glad I got on board years ago, thanks for the inspiration and and a little backstory on your beginnings and lady's met along the way, keep em coming Scotty and stay free 🦅
I really do admire Scotty. He figured it out early on and made the right choice. I see the truth in what he speaks and want to take off too. But having two kids to raise now, I talk myself out of it. I settle for small adventures in between weeks or months of working... instead of one big, long adventure. Bittersweet, but as they used to say, hindsight is 20/20.
Great stuff Scotty glade you shared it with us Thanks man!
I bet I have watched this at least 50 times over the last couple of years, and it gets better every time I watch it. A masterpiece in my opinion...the true meaning of life. Beautifully done.
Scotty you're an inspiration watching your video helps me straighten my own mind out thanks be safe
Great video. This should be an inspiration to all.
You out did your self Scotty, safe travels to you.
All I can say is," Thank you, Scotty". Such an inspiration to many of us. This video tells the story of how good of a story teller you are!! I like you traveled back and forth across this country for years. Now, at 72 and medical issues setting in, im lucky to make a day trip or maybe a few days. I still love the adventures, just cant make it too long. Thanks for this video.
Nice movie scotty beutiful
Thanks for sharing your experiences, Scotty! This history of yours needs to be preserved so when the lifestyle changes others can look back and see what a joy it is to be free!
nice video and god thinking. i have ride sins -71 and ven i vas younger i lived nomadic life here in finland and i have travel on motorcycle allthewäy to italy. then i made a family and i have been in the wheel for allmost 40 years now. i started to ride laast year again and im most summertime on the road. i need to build upp my stamina to ride even longer trips. im now 67year old(young) and i plan to ride ass long i can lifft my leg over the bike. so ride safe brother. il try to doo the same
I mostly just like to ride shorter days while stopping a lot Mark. No need for stamina and i find it much more enjoyable.
Wow so true 😮 life is short thanks Scotty
What a great short documentary on you Scotty! Livin Life! Livin Free! Livin on your own terms! Take care & be safe out there Scotty! Let's Go Brandon! 👍🏻❤🏍🇺🇸🍻
Excellent video!!
That was awesome....man, I enjoyed this one a lot. Thanks for posting it Scotty !
Wow this one really got in my head. I lived on my bike back in the late 70's till 84. My mom always nagged get a job start a family be someone. Little did I realize at the time I was living and had a family. Got married and divorced 3 times, I was never right after all that. I knew what I had when I was on the road. And still to this day I want to get back out there and I guess safety has me by the ass.
That was Excellent. If you need a place to stay you’re always welcome in central mn. You got my number.
Fear of the unknown. I dont have it. Living one year now in a far away place and different culture with not much skill of the language. The fear I see is all from the ones I left behind. They are trapped in the fear and try to dump it upon me whenever we have contact. I pity them, teapped by fear of the unknown, never knowing but the small isolated world they have sparingly assigned themself. Im at peace in the unknown. Its not a scary place.
Like Scotty has described, peace and friends can be found anywhere one wants. Home is wherever you are at the time.
It's amazing when one breaks free of the Matrix. One feeling is a sense that a burden is lifted. The direction becomes new and feels correct The Matrix that instills fear into people's minds is a powerful hypnosis, or mass psychosis. I use the word Matrix as a representation of the "System" " Norm", and " reliance on a safe cookie-cutter life.
We live our lives thru your journeys.. Ride to live and live to Ride!!!
Scotty you are helping me Mentally Married fifty four years 73 retired in Florida.
Work on and road harring's all my life
God Bless Scooter Tramp Scotty. This video resonates with me every time I watch it. 😊
One of your best vids Scotty RIDE ON RIDE ON !!!!
I didnt make this one. It was a professional documentaty company called Lost & Found Films. I talk anout the folming experience in the drop-box.
When I ride, I zone out on the engine noise like a monk meditating to a bell ringing. There is nothing like the sound of a Harley.
I watch many cycling videos of folk living on their bikes but Scotty has a way with telling it how it is and never mashes his words….Out of the comfort zone …away from all those possessions that slowly over time begin to own you!
You ain’t taking them with you …..🙂👍🏻
Great video production 👏 Your story is unique and inspirational to people that want to break free from the chains of society. Keep on living free and finding all of those wonderful abandoned places. Not many people could last doing your nomadic lifestyle. You have terrific strength 💪🏼 Blessings to you for showing others that there is an alternative to the rat race and societal norms.
Thank you. I cannot add anything more to the righteous praises already expressed. Be safe and spirit be with you always.
Really nice video
When I drive my mind rambles & process the universe; when I Ride I can only focus on the Now or you Yeet a turn…
No matter how many times i hear your story it ALWAYS helps get me back on the road.. Im packing now.
Cool Scotty! Well done piece.
Awesome work as usual brother… This is one of your most inspiring videos yet. This really stuck me! Thank you for spending time with me and my family while recharging, you left us energized! Your visit, our blessing 🤟😎🙏
I watched this twice
Good video!
I think this is one of your best vids yet! Thanks. God bless you and keep you safe!
Excellent! Stay safe
it was really well done! Love your stories man!
This was well done. I've been watching your channel for quite awhile now and they could have easily done a 1.5 hour movie about you and your travels.
Good video
"technically homeless person with only one old motorcycle and a sleeping bag." A big difference between homeless and free. Home is where you feel the most comfortable, and for you, that's the road and the adventure it brings. I enjoyed this short documentary, ride safe. Thanks.
Sometimes I think we live our lives in reverse of the way we should, have fun when your young and healthy! then when we mature, slow down a bit, buy a house, raise a family, and die! IDK whats its all about man, been married for 40 years to the same girl I meet when I was 16 and she was 14, wouldn't change a thing! but sure wonder what might have been sometimes! Happy Travels to you Bro! maybe our paths will cross someday and I can buy you a meal.
Excellent work Scotty.
Man, I love this video. Life-changing actually. Good job Scotty, good job.
Black Hills Mills
Fantastic short film!! Really well done
Scotty, nice little throwback movie clip... Gotta love the Asheville area..
As usual Sir...this vdo too is so, so inspiring. Thank you for all your efforts of making them...and your mind ❤🙏🏼
My tattoo artist loco recommended your channel. Said he ran into you on a bike trip. I enjoyed the wisdom.
That’s a nice video man. I also enjoy your videos too, a lot of realism of life on the road in your stuff. Saving my pennies for Sturgis, hopefully I can afford it and come buy your book.
Love this…..
Great story good video ride safe have excellent travels
I wish I had the Balls to do what you've done !!
Beautiful !!
Fantastic documentary on you Scotty.
Scotty proves it. you don’t need huge displacement.
Looks like a modern day Then Came Bronson remake. Well done!
I love this. You are an inspiration. I hope to bump into you some time out there on the road. I may not be doing what you are doing, but I do get out there from time to time to search my soul. I wish I could say it was a way of life for me, too.
My man Scotty. Taking dumps in the woods for 30 years now! What a life !😂
That was cool!
Hello Scotty,, 👋 been awhile.
I know exactly what you're saying about the focus and rewards in life.. I've lived on my Hog now since my partner's passing in 21,,i sold my vehicle and everything I can't take with me on the road..It's been an Amazing adventure so far with ups and downs but I don't see things changing 😊🙌,,

Great video Scotty. Holler at me when you're close by brother.
👍
Yes sir👍
Fantastic video! I would like to try living a drifter life too. Unfortunately wild camping is illegal in Germany. 😬 .. also wondering how do you deal with lightning storms? Setting up camp a bit away from the motorcycle when its not possible to find decent shelter?
Ride on!
Very nice film
Fantastic video 🇨🇦
Done a little travelling, can’t relate to a snapshot of people’s lives, 😊
Enjoyed this one!!!!
Very best :)
Watching this again for the ?? time. It speaks to me.
You heading up through illinois on your way to camp 5 anytime soon ? I would ride out there with you. I was planning on getting to stugis a week or two early and staying a week or two after this year. I have absolutely no obligations , took the year off .
