Hi Paul, that was another really good video, I loved the photos of the lighthouse, they were superb! In answer to your questions I have to say I like both types of shots, either grasses or sky but if I am forced to choose I would definitely go for more sky because you make those skies look so moody which basically is what my definition of a lighthouse is all about, stormy weather and dangerous coastline. I do love the grasses too be cause you do use them to direct the viewer into the image and also it makes the foreground look amazing! Thanks for sharing that little gem of a place with us 😁👍
Hi Paul, enjoyable as always…..I do prefer your content to many on UA-cam just lately. A good mix of info, advice and a smattering of light hearted fun. When the sky is moody like this one…definitely more sky works in image for me…would incorporate more foreground interest when the sky is washed out and flat. Nice to see the Seals too…nice one. Take care out and about 🙏🏻
My grandparents lived at the other end of the island, and the others across the channel in Barrow. I remember how cold that wind is coming off the sea even now. I've not been back since the last of them passed away about 15 years ago.
What a crackin' area and given the right light you can come away with awesome picture. I bet you won't find it in a photography guidebook anywhere, which is all the better. Castle, beach, lighthouse, dunes, what's not to like, you just need a stunning sunset. Looked bloody cold though, again !
I've got way over 300 photo books. I've not got a single photo location guidebook. Just don't see the point. Explore, discover, search out the unique.@@paulcomptonpdphotography
Stumbled upon the video and enjoyed it. The cows will be my cousins who own the farm/caravan park you drove through to get to the reserve. The seal colony is quite a new thing, you'd see the odd one fifty years plus ago when I was first taken down there for family stuff. What you don't get down there any more are the tens of thousands of gulls making a hat and jacket essential and you still get dive bombed and covered in sh*t Fun Fact, Peggy was very good friends with my nana lol The gutters on the salt marsh can be quite tricky to walk around. Do NOT walk out to Piel Island (the castle) unless you know the route. Your walking out into Morcambe Bay with all its quick sand, fast tides and encircling gullies, not a place to just go for a stroll👍
Hi Paul, I enjoyed the video as always. An interesting place to photograph, as you said the old pier with the castle when the tide is in could make an interesting image. I think i preferred the image of the Lighthouse with more sky. Look forward to seeing your next video. All the best mate.
I great location, i try to get all over the country, if you would like to join me on a walk or photography one to one please do contact and ask what i can do for you paulcomptonpdphotography.co.uk/contact
JUST PAY THE FEE FOR T'HE VISITOR CENTER!! These places rely on donations and do essential work in conservation. A couple of quid wont hurt you. Also, don't be so rude about places like you were at the start
Rude? Sorry I did not notice I was. Please explain. As for the £2 your very rifht in what you say, sometimes I make things sounds a bit different for ilm and video effect. Also I don't carry cash this can also be an issue haha 😆

Was Lancashire, now Cumbria

If the skye is very interesting you can have a lot of skye otherwise I prefer grass and lighthouse.
