I got here after an embroidery question on 'who want to be a millionaire'. Was intrigued and I'm impressed with lazy daisy stitch.. I need to now find somewhere to use my new skill! ;) thank you
Super helpful. Thanks. Especially for that "extra" bit on that annoying "loop" you got in the thread. I've been cursing them as knots and (cursing when) cutting them out.
Thank you for your videos! I am brand new at embroidering and you've taught me most of the stitches I've had to learn so far. Thank you for taking the time to make these.
Thank you! I have a little kit and the book made no sense and now here I am thinking “this is quite simple.” And I see a lot of other people loved the sound of the thread going through the fabric and I have to agree, it’s a pleasant sound!
Thank you so much!! It really helps me to see the stitches being demonstrated. It's been 100 years since I've done embroidery,..I absolutely loved it way back when!! I'm back in training, haha!!!! Your video is very helpful. Thanks again. Have a great rest of your weekend!! : )
Hi Wendy!! I’m a sixteen year old rating my junior year and I wanted to embroider my backpack with some cute little flowers and your tutorial was perfect! My lazy Daisy’s are so cute thanks to you:)
Thank you so much..Your demonstration is very easy to follow...Right now I am attending a sewing class and your lessons help me to remember the lessons I have forgotten...thanks again..
Thank you thank you thank you this is been a really big help. I’m a newbie and the piece of paper that came with my pattern really didn’t explain it at all it just kind of showed a picture. So thank you thank you again
Thank you! I just started a project and am new to stitching/hand embroidery. The direction I received with the kit didn’t make any sense to me and this is extremely helpful in clarifying how to exactly make this stitch. Thank you again!
wow ive been practising on an offcut of felt that i had spare with my mum's old embrodiary (she had to stop) but i rather enjoy it thank you soo much xxxx
Thanks Wendy. I haven't embroidered in many years and you were very helpful to refresh my memory! I bought some basic knit stockings and would like to stitch some snowflakes on them to decorate them. Any suggestions on how I should do that? Pattern? Thanks so much!
Thank you so much for sharing! I am working on a big project as my first project (BIG mistake!) and just needed to see that all of these beautiful stitches for embellishment weren't going to be over complicated :) New subscriber here!
Great tip on the knots that spontaneously happen!! My thread does it all the time and it was driving me nuts!! This is great news! New subscriber!! Thanks so much!! 😊
Just started embroidery and finding your videos very helpful. I wondered how you get rid of the pencil lines on the fabric once you're done, and also how you stop the 6 strands of embroidery thread separating so much they look messy - an issue I seem to be encountering all the time! Any advice much appreciated. :)
I usually use a product called Sulky Sticky Fabri-solvy to transfer all my designs. You can find out more about it here (www.shinyhappyworld.com/2014/06/everything-ever-wanted-know-sulky-sticky-fabri-solvy.html) but the nutshell version is that it completely dissolves in water after you're done stitching, so there are no markings left behind to show. If you don't like the looser twist of the 6-stranded thread, try using perle cotton. It doesn't separate so you'll have to buy different weights for differemt thicknesses - but it looks lovely.
Hey Wendi your tutorials are so amazing and have helped me sooo much as a newbie! My little lazy daisy came out looking pretty damn cute, even if I say so myself! Thank you
I love your videos. They are some of the more helpful tutorials I have been able to find! I was wondering if, in future tutorials (or as a charitable side project?!?!) you could use thicker, higher-contrast thread and more descriptive language? As a visually impaired sewer new to embroidery that would be much appreciated!
I'm sure you've probably address this before but what kind of fabric and thread do you recommend to use? it almost looks like you're using yarn is it thread that you just haven't separated?
+Jennifer Morris The fabric I'm using here is just plain muslin - but you can stitch on anything you can get in a hoop. (Stretch fabrics take special handling, though). And you're right - the thread you see in the video is a full 6 strands of regular DMC floss. Nothing fancy. Use fewer strands if you want a thinner line.
what size needle did you use to thread all six strands? and thanks a lot for the video I am new to embroidery and this was my first pruject for myself, to make a lazy daisy
For some reason the sound of the thread/yarn going thru the fabric is so satisfying!!!
Glad I’m not the only one who thinks this way
Its irritating
It's call asmr 😆

THE SOUND OF THE FABRIC SATISFYING
Super helpful. Thanks. Especially for that "extra" bit on that annoying "loop" you got in the thread. I've been cursing them as knots and (cursing when) cutting them out.

Thank you, for taking your time to post this video. 🎯You are appreciated.
If I wanted it to look lazy daisy-ish I would just draw the flower and backstitch it, then maybe satin stitch the center.
Thank you so much!! It really helps me to see the stitches being demonstrated. It's been 100 years since I've done embroidery,..I absolutely loved it way back when!! I'm back in training, haha!!!! Your video is very helpful. Thanks again. Have a great rest of your weekend!! : )
