I've never heard of coolant dye before and using it to check for hard to see leaks. Such a great idea, thanks👍

Thank you so much for the information. Brief and to the point. The pictures are very helpful.
    I have a 2008 tC with 156,000 miles.
I’ve been told the coolant is low but there’s no visible leakage inside or out. They said they don’t know exactly what could be the problem since there no visible leakage.
What they recommended was to replace the radiator, water pump, and spark plugs first, a $3000 job order. And hopefully that will fix it, but if it doesn’t then it would most likely be the head gaskets, a $3000 job order as well. They told me this about 6 months ago.
The car is running fine at the present time still. It’s not overheating, the exhaust is not dark or white, there’s no strange smell inside and the AC is also working fine.
I’m all about preventive care and prefer to avoid major and costly troubles if possible.
However, I do not want to be taken advantage of, nor do I want to replace anything that is truly not needed at the moment, neither do I have $3000 much less $6000 to play the guessing game here. In order to take care of this I will have to make a sacrifice, but I refuse to do make such costly sacrifice without a guarantee that the issue will be resolved.
The way I found out about the low coolant was when I took it in for an oil change. They offered a thorough inspection for free. After having the car in their shop all day they came back with a multiple page report or urgent work orders the car needed totaling close to $10,000.
I told them I didn’t have that kind of money. They then said the most urgent thing they recommended was the radiator, water pump, and spark plugs to be replaced.
I’ve hold off on this because I wanted to get as much information as possible before moving forward with such costly situation.
I’ve been praying to God for an honest, skillful, knowledgeable mechanic/shop that will have integrity and will deal justly with their customers and all business transactions.
I will greatly appreciate it if you could please guide me in the right direction on the matter.
My only desire is to keep the car running at its best for as long as possible. I drive my cars till there no hope of repair.
I’m a calm and cautious driver, never abuse the cars. This is a manual transmission not automatic, not sure if that makes any difference when it comes to repairs or not.
I keep up with the oil changes and replace things as needed before they become an issue.
As far as I know the car is running fine but if the coolant is low and that’s not normal then there’s an issue and I’d like to resolve it as soon as possible to have peace of mind. I have no problem paying an honest and just fee for the service needed I simply don’t want to be taken advantage of.
Again, any advice you can provide will be a blessing and greatly appreciated.
Thank you and may God richly bless you for putting out such helpful content for free.
May your channel grow beyond your expectations. And, when it does, remember, it’s the Lord 🙏🏼

I have this problem right now, I already replaced the heater core thermostat,no water in the oil ,I keep checking it ,and it gets low ,oh replaced the belt tensioner as well , I'm thinking it might be the radiator cap,or the antifreeze mixture hmmm 🤔🤔🤔
