Hit the nail on the head. The 5.8 is the 5.4 with the heads bored. The cylinders aren't sleeved, so if you score them, that's a replacement. My 5.8 with the 2.3 tvs, basic bolt-ons, and a 2.4 upper is a monster! I do wonder if he misspoke when he said 5.4 though, that would mean he got a whole new motor. I know he said its built, but the 5.8 can be built. Itll hold about 900 crank before you need to build it.

You’d have to build a 2013-2014 and put more money into it to make power a 11-12 can make on E85, bolt ons and pullies, literally search it up. Also, the gearing in the 13-14 is bad for drag racing. If you use a 5.4 and do a blower swap like I did and leave it at a 4” pulley and cam it guess what ?!!! Your still getting 800rwhp … We aren’t doing STOCK comparisons because who cares but my 2013 is making the same power as my 2009 … here’s the difference 1.) my 2009 had a 3.6 kenne bell with king tubes it made 700 rwhp with 600 TQ . I find it interesting that he took out the 5.8 and replaced it with a 5.4 from the 2011 to 2012 Mustang Cobra I always heard that the 5.4 is cheaper to soup up and reach that magic 1000 horsepower mark.. To get the 5.8 to 1000 horsepower is crazy expensive I hear
The gen2 condor is MORE RELATED TO THE 5.4 that was in the 05/06 Ford gt and the trinity is not . Also shelby just had his name on this one but was highly involved in the condor engine...... hence why the shelby 1000 has a 5.4 and not the 5.8

I was gonna do a 5.4 swap this is the first 2013 owner I’ve seen do it ... the difference in cost is about 6400$ to stay 5.8 A 5.4 is that price fully built .... knowing this guy he probably went 5.4 cast iron as 5.4 aluminum is 4,000$ more .... they both make the same power .... I owned a 2009 i now own a 13 and people ask me if the 5.8 is better then the 5.4 it all depends but for the most part no .... save the money go 5.4
@mach183 it's better as in it can make more ultimate power all things equal but is the difference worth the 6400 dollar difference you mentioned? Imo the answer is no. For the money the 5.4 is better bang for the buck.

No it doesn't. The 5.4 is just as good. When all things are equal the 5.8 doesn't make much more power and it costs like 6500 bucks more than a 5.4 to have it built and some think the slight difference in power isn't worth that 6500 dollar price. Sound wise they're basically identical.

Most of the power difference the trinity has is the blower 95% of it the other 5% is the slightly better stock cams when they're running the same setup results are similar trinity will have little more torque at slightly less boost pulley for pulley same setup otherwise but again it costs 6500 bucks more to build a 5.8 vs going built 5.4.
So all the old muscle are also “kill everybody” cars or something. Far as I’m concerned they were all Solid axle cars and most had more then 500hp once modified sooo. Yea..... Plus solid axle is still the go to for drag racing nowadays. Camaros are getting solid axle swap to hold more power for drag racing .....
I’d take a Boss 302, with a few mods over either. Pure NA adrenaline. This Shelby is really nice though, he upgraded a lot of parts, only thing I’d question is the balance of all those parts together. That said, looks like he did it correctly. This Shelby vs a modded ZR1, is like to see it. The Boss is roughly 2 secs behind a zr1 on the track. The Zr1 is obviously supercharged, but I’d bet the boss can make that up with some mods of its own, maybe even Still NA
No one cares about lap times , the back tires should tell you he's not trying to do laps. No one cares how fast a vette can stop, vs a mustang. As long as it's fast in a straight line is all that matters.

What Made You Go 5.4 Over The 5.8?
The 5.4 can produce more power out the factory. The 5.8 is pretty much already topped out. Hope that helps

Yep I just got a 2011 and all I have to do is get a factory blower off a 13 14 and I can get over 800 hp. It’s definitely easier and cheaper
