The way she falls after being stabbed- it’s the most human thing… The way she falls unconscious was really well animated and she’s one of the most unlucky characters-
I think that the reason she is so clumsy is because she is suffering from undiagnozed dyspraxia(also known as developmental cordinational disorder). it is possible she also has adhd, some times these 2 go together sometimes they do not. the fact that she has fallen from stairs multyple times is strong indicator of dispraxia.
I always thought she had audhd [combination of autism and adhd] or just autism, since I always saw myself in her as someone with audhd. the dyspraxia also makes a lot of sense with her though !
Just realized- the first episode we met Marcy, fire trailed her. Then in the episode True Colors, she got stabbed by a flaming sword. Ironic that fire was with her, and fire ended her.
I love her arc, but hot dang does she suffer from secondary protagonist syndrome. If Amphibia had had a full season's worth of Marcy and/or Sasha's misadventures in and out of Amphibia, I think the show would've been all the better for it. Love the Plantars, but love the Calamity Girls more.
Based on what was seen in the Theme Song Takeovers, Sasha's goofs would last at least a season and Marcy having 2. Which makes sense considering we got Sasha in S1 and Mar Mar in S2
THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT I THOUGHT!! Love the show and the characters but The Plantars stole more of the screentime that Marcy and Sasha could’ve used to flesh out their characters more.
Here’s Marcy’s story, as best as I can describe it: Her parents told her that they were moving away from LA, and she thought that moving away would tear her apart from Sasha and Anne. So when she found the music box on a store shelf, she bought it for Anne as a gift, hoping that it would work as the legends described. And of course, it DID work, and that’s how they ended up in Amphibia. The whole time, she thought that buying the music box would prevent the three of them from being separated. But upon entering Amphibia, they got separated anyways. And as a result, she spent a good deal of time and effort to try and get the three of them back together-and she succeeded! But then, Andreas revealed that the whole “sending them home” thing was a hoax, and that he just wanted them all in one place so he could get rid of them and use the box to take over the Earth. The resulting battle caused the three of them to split up once again, with Sasha escaping and running away to a safer spot in Amphibia, Anne getting sent back home, and MARCY GETTING BACKSTABBED. LITERALLY. Eventually, Sasha finds her way back to Marcy and attempts to save her, which triggers a trap set by Andreas in anticipation of that exact scenario. This puts Marcy through an illusion that nearly breaks her, but she manages to escape after realizing that smashing the orange eyes breaks the illusion. It also summons Andreas to the room, who reveals The Core, and explains that as much as he wanted Marcy to stay away from it, it wouldn’t let him use anyone else as its host. So he plugs Marcy into The Core and transfers its code into her mind, turning her into Darcy. From that point onwards, she works with Andreas to command his robot army as they invade Earth and begin taking it over. As Darcy does this, Marcy-trapped inside her own mind-starts to fight her way out and attempt to regain control over her body. She ultimately succeeds, and Anne finds her at around the same time, sitting together with Sasha as they watch Marcy slowly come back to herself. Anne then tells her that things change, and that no matter what happens; no matter where they all end up in the future, their bond will never be broken. And then she teams up with Anne and Sasha one last time to save Amphibia during The Hardest Thing, before heading back to Earth and going about her life as it was previously-happily ever after!
