When I was in the military traveling was fun because I was with other like minded Americans who were the same age as me and there was a brother hood. My experience traveling from then to now is that there are a lot of times I wish I could have those same experiences with friends. It can get really really lonely if you cannot share traveling experiences with someone you can call a true friend.
Majority of people should go to Brazil for Vacation only. Living in a country is difficult, Home will always be where you were born and where you grew up. You can’t just erase your culture from your head.
YES brother. This is very much needed. This is one of those classic type videos that will get alot of views years down the road. I'd make a series out of this. Just warning people about things that COULD BE BAD if you don't prepare, type ish.
I agree with you Fred. Balance is very important. In my case not traveling as much as i did the past few years is getting old. So my plan is to get back out there once i get the balance right.
I've been here 6 years next month. It's not easy if you aren't ok with being alone physically, and even when around people who don't understand you culturally. I'm a natural loner and even I feel it sometimes. I stay busy with my studio and other projects. I'm extremely focused on my projects, so I like being able to work and not be distracted. I have a few Brazilian friends that keep in contact and a good friend in the US who visits every 6 months or so. We chat almost every day, so I have that outlet to stay in communication with someone who can understand the life here. I'm now writing my 2nd book about life here. The first was as a tourist, so now I have a lot more perspective and experiences as a resident. Staying busy is a key to not getting to homesick.
Wasup Fred. Rio's good for the english speakers. But also, since I work remotely, I speak english all day. Then I have to switch to portuguese at night. I do agree that you gotta get out of Brazil sometimes, but for me, that's because the city (Rio) will wear you out. I've been thinking I need to find a third country to spend part of the year in.
Very introspective I agree learning the language is essential and hitting other countries can definitely be a stress relief but going back ahhh I don't know but missing family has to be tough at times...
@@aShotByFredI agree. Sometimes you have to come back to get that balance to America but at the same time it depends on the person. Some people hate to come back even though they have to come back for a family or dog. Whatever. I've been Brazil twice + I hate to come back
I'm a black woman living in Brazil and I stay for six months to go back to America' can't stay longer then that .then I come back... language can be difficult...but I still get stuff done...I miss having a full conversation 😭.but love the country.
Brazilian culture and more, parties, noise, excitement, Brazilian men have always been more forward, in some cases they would arrive kissing, touching and staring, Brazilian women have the same behavior as men, throwing themselves forward
I haven't been to Brazil. I didn't want to learn the language, but I also decided that Aisa was more compatible with my lifestyle. I need access to electronics, supplement,s and certain things that Brazil doesn't offer. I am also a very dominant and loving alpha male; I do not put up with any attitude from anyone of any sort. I don't know from experience, but from the videos and feedback from others, the Brazilian women seem to give attitude to men. Every man's experience is different, but for me it's unacceptable. I won't speak or have sex with a woman with any attitude or anger towards men. If Its true, that Brazilian women are mouthy of any sort, I won't ever visit the country. It's all yours my brother.
It's crazy in this society. Even though maybe 20% of guys our age are on Diddy time it's still to the point where people feel they have to clarify every statement.
2:50 What do you mean bull****? It's sad. We Brazilians welcomed you with open arms, and you repay us with ingratitude. I understand that the United States is a global reference, but when you're in Brazil, YOU are obliged to live as we live, not the other way around. Imagine if I went to the United States and lived and acted like in Brazil? No one would like it. I used to like you, but now I'm going to stop following you.
Did I say all Brazilians? No, some don't mean all, and I will never tell a Brazilian to forget their culture because they are in the United States, but I've had Brazilians tell me that my culture doesn't matter because I decided to live in Brazil, essentially you just did the same.
I agree with you, but there are many Brazilians who go to the USA and still live like they're in Brazil. They have entire economic enclaves, where they only speak Portuguese, eat Brazilian food, sell their own products, do business only with Brazilians, socialize among themselves, only help themselves, and treat Americans like they're foreigners in their own country instead of displaying unity or civic duty towards the country they chose to live in. Many immigrants from Latin America do that in the USA. There are about 4 million Brazilians in the USA. In Brazil, there aren't enough Americans in the country to even notice us here.
I'm also not obligated to live by the code and and ethics of Brazil. There's things I certainly don't agree with in the Brazilian culture. Doesn't Mean because I live in Brazil I have to accept, and I wouldn't expect Brazilians to do that either when they go to USA. But when Brazilians go to the United States, they stay only with each other and continue their customs and culture in the United States.
