I'm suddenly into workspaces because of WFH so these types of videos are really informative, thanks for that. That said, please stop using variations of "should really come as no surprise, considering" whaha, Im must've heard it 4 times in this video alone
finally some one with practical sense . I have seen people buying $1k+ plus worth of standing desk for laptop that is worth not more than $700 . There is term in the corporate consulting used "Justifiable cost ". Even top 10 consulting firm won't approve it as a valid business cost. ***Liked and subscribed. I asked for one at one of the prestigious consulting firm and they came back with desk with manual up and down mechanism and they have those tables for more than 20 years and still operational .
I noticed you haven't mentioned instability. I'm about to buy a desk which I can't test before I buy, and I am worried that it might be less stable than my current 4 leg desk. Is instability a big issue with electric standing desks, or should I not worry?
Why does nobody talks about if there is power outage what happens with the desk in height? Does it stops there or decrease down slowly to the bottom? And the next quiestion is, how much electricity it uses when it holds the height and when it moves up nd down? Thx.
What is actually the problem with a crank desk? Is it just having to adjust the table manually? Are they less failure prone and faster than an electric desk?
Adjusting them manually is the number one problem because many require a lot of cranks per inch of adjustment. This means they are much slower and require more effort to make adjustments. They won’t have electronic issues, but will most likely have much lower weight capacities. -GK
Generally good and informative video. The common problems regarding power outlets is a bit of complete nonsense. People have these for computers. The computers need power. Ergo they always place them where there is available power. Even when its just a laptop.
@@btodtv I defer to the feedback you receive and apologise. It wasn't meant to be as abrasive as it sounds reading it back. I am surprised that a lack of power outlets is a problem though in any home that can afford to buy a powered standing desk. One thing I wholeheartedly agree on from an engineering point of view is that a single motor solution is better as long as it is powerful enough.

@@sybo59 the analogy is more '' is a sport car loud when the motor is turned on and but the car is not running '' answer is yes - The motor makes noise. I wondered if the motor would make a buzzy sound either way even when it s not in motion
What happened to the rest of his pants? And what's with the loafers? Did he think the camera guy was only gonna shoot from the knee up? Quarantine has made us waaay too comfortable going pantsless 😞

I walk 20 - 40k steps a day. I use to sit for 9 hours a day. Standing desks should be required for all able desk workers!

I just bought an electric desk at home and it is really stable.

Thank you this fixed me problem
Great video, thank you for putting this list together

Thanks for sharing useful information !
"electronic buzzing" man I didn't think about that one.. difficult to judge from the showing floor let alone online.
What about collision detection?
Having a dual monitor vertical and using preset heights with no collision detection can be dangerous and destructive
How do you rate Steelcase adjustable desks? Seems to be built very well.
Is there a rough estimate of to what height a desk should rise for a person who is 180cm tall?
About 43 inches or 109 cm -GK
@@btodtv Thank you so much. Any chance you guys sell in the UK (London)?
I'm considering one for a flight simulator setup so I can set the perfect height.
Isn't the biggest issue the possible wobble of some models?
nice shorts :D

Nothing should come as a surprise.
"problem" 1 had me laughing because i bought an electric standing desk frame and the hand cranked version was the same price. XD
It really shouldn't come as no surpirse!!
thanks, i decided not to get any standing desk.
I can't imagine paying big bucks to then have to use a fucking foot rest.
Standing desk + gaming = shaky monitor + motion sickness.
Yes, that can definitely be a problem when gaming on a standing desk -GK
are electric desk noisy when you dont move them up and down ?
Haha are you joking? “Is a sports car loud when the engine is off???”

This video is a joke
The most ridiculous video ever. Everything 'shouldn't come as much of a surprise'. Needs assembly? Oh no! The shorts didn't help either.
