Since this video is still getting some attention, we thought it would be a good idea to add a bit of context (maybe this way the disrespectful comments will stop).
This Hollow Knight: Silksong demo was available at a Nintendo event in Gamepolis 2019 (Málaga, Spain) in july of the same year. It's probably the exact same demo that was shown on the Threehouse: Live during E3. When starting, you could choose between two levels: the first, mossy area where the game begins, and the lava-bronze area, which takes place later in the story. That second level ended with the Lace boss fight, so there wasn't anything more after that.
The guy playing is an avid Hollow Knight fan who has put hundreds of hours into the original game, and even finished challenges like the Path of Pain or the fight against Nightmare King Grimm. That doesn’t mean he is a skilled player, but he definetly isn’t someone who is trying Hollow Knight for the first time.
This was also the first (and only) time playing the game, and even knowing the basics of Hollow Knight, there are a lot of new gameplay mechanics that you have to properly learn to play through. This might sound easy, but when you have a limited amount of time and you are surrounded by other people, waiting in line to play after you, it is not.
It’s also important to note that someone from Nintendo was beside him, telling him what to do or where to go to save some time. That’s why sometimes looks like he’s randomly moving around. Oh, and he wasn’t just chilling on a sofa; he was playing while standing all the time.
Anyway, hope you guys enjoy the gameplay. We come here from time to time to remember ourselves that we actually played Hollow Knight: Silksong. Fingers crossed we get a release date soon!

my favorite difference from hollow knight is how the enemies react to you being killed (for example, lace laughs), instead of still trying to attack you as the death animation plays

The way Hornet hikes herself up onto ledges is adorable
2:48 I love how it the ost sounds somewhat like queens gardens, cool detail
I feel like the bosses in Silksong are going to be a lot harder than in the original. Hornet can heal three masks instantly while the knight can only heal one mask but only after a few seconds. This makes me think that the bosses are going to be a lot more fast paced and will give you little time to breath except when they're staggered. Also, Hornet has a completely new moveset from the knight so it might make the game a little more challenging in the beginning since you have to learn how to fight as a whole different character.
be careful with your expectation
They might not be generally "more difficult" but judging by Lace´s behavior they will probably require you to come up with a more tactical approach, meaning that you probably won´t be able to just nuke them as you can do in the first game with the right build
Yeah. They said that enemies can deal 2 masks damage early on, and that you have to be more defensive. As Hornet's acrobatics make enemies also have more mechanics and invulnerable spots. Take the bell miners who cannot be struck in the heads, and Lace who requires you to think what is the best approach.
The gruzz mother of this game already acts like an easy version of nosk, so i think you're right.

It's gonna be really weird to be attacking stuff and hearing her muttering something. I'm so used to just the sound of the nail and the Knight never muttering any sound
Its been 2 years ever since the demo and the announcement, this game better be worth it, and will have an incredibly large and a lot of areas to explore

I think the gamer didn't play the Hollow Knight before. Because there you can learn some attack and defense tactics, especially in Godhome.

Thank you sooooo much for this video! I finally get to watch some Silksong footage where I can actually hear the in-game atmosphere and music. The subtle musical tones in the background of the Deep Docks is incredible, and the Moss Grotto theme is so good. I'm even more hyped for the music in this game now because honestly, I think the Moss Grotto theme is even better than most if not all of the themes from the first game.
Riiight?! I am sitting here getting constant goosebumps from the melody of the theme of Moss Grotto T.T Can't wait to listen to them for hours and hours when they get released.

Lo que siempre me a gustado de Hollow Knight es la musica, es increible como te hace sentir cómodo estuvieras ahi, siendo tranquila en los bosques y frenética en las batallas de jefes.
Lo único que puedo pensar ahora de SilkSong es que es Precioso, y parece que los controles van a ser muy difíciles, pero por eso es un Metroidvania

What is curious is that hornet uses her needle as a nail but in hollow knight she never used it as a nail, she used her needle against the knight with silk abilities or with the tools such as “spike balls” which is interesting, if she used the needle as a blade we would be totally destroyed in hollow knight XD
I´m very glad that her grunts and shouts that she utters while moving and jumping are more subtle, otherwise it would be very annoying, listening to her constant banter
also the way Lace cackles at the end of the fight...
omg the ambience and the sound is just AMAZING
My favorite piece dialogue is "BLANK CELL (Wanderers/LACE_MEET_3)" Definitely the most deep I've seen Team Cherry.

Nightmare king Grimm except you can only use wayward compass and no jumping. Also there are 6 of them and one of them dies from a chandelier only to be resurrected for no apparent reason.
Remember this though they wanted fast combat in this game and that's why you can heal 3 masks
@@mangocat4820 i think there were too many arguments that some bosses would last really long because you couldve gone to heal and defend only so it was either they would give us more op power or youd just die faster so they choosed the second one pretty epicly fair lol
Idk, seems like this game will turn out really well. 90% of the playerbase’s top 3 bosses (in no order) were NKG, PV and SoB. Things they had in common were that they were really fast paced, you didn’t have a lot of opportunities to hit so you couldn’t spam and you couldn’t facetank. Seems like the game really is gonna try to make all boss fights like that. And I’m sure they won’t try to improve only boss fights so I’m fucking hyped

I think if there is no shade dash there is gonna be some replacement or all the bosses are gonna be built around the lack of shade dashing making you think more about movement
In the trailer you can see that Hornet has a kind of defense move that she can defend and then dash on the other directions, that could be the replacement of the shadow cloak 🤔
@@MatiazAnimates when its seen, hornet uses her parry move, but instead of slashing forward, she Shaw's forward, I can just imagine some little thing following you around and you have to time the parry so you can get to a new area or a cave. that would just be ridiculous

Para los que esperan. Después de la actualización de Hallowen, y que este trailer fuese lanzado en San Valentin, se cree y se espera que SilkSong salga en navidades, si llega a ser el caso preparen sus carteras.

De hecho mire el directo y con lo poco que entendí dijeron que aún no estaba finalizado el juego al 100 y en efecto dijeron que le estimaban para navidad

Hace poco que tengo la Switch y el Hollow Knight, aun no me lo he terminado y tengo unas ganas tremendas de tener el Silksong. Es un juegazo y lo que llevo me ha hecho tenerme enganchado de una manera que hace tiempo que no me divierte un juego.

@@Gigafuckass Jajaja es curioso que me preguntes ahora después de un año, pero te contestaré igual.
En ese momento lo jugaba en Switch y ocurrio una mala racha que me obligó a deshacerme de la consola.
Hace poco retomé el juego al verme con un PC nuevo y actualmente acabo de llegar al Nido Profundo. No es tan avanzado como lo dejé en su momento (Que fue justo después de encontrarme a Nosk) pero las sensaciones siguen siendo las mismas.
No me gustan los Metroidvania pero Hollow Knight es el unico que me ha mantenido enganchado y me ha apetecido retomar.
Después de tanto tiempo no se sabe casi nada de Silksong y es una pena, pero en cuanto lo saquen será un Must-buy.

I just beat hollow knight last night and dear God was it amazing. This game was harder than Dark Souls and Bloodborne combined in ny opinion.
