Wow, your Hungarian accent examples were so accurate, it surprised me. Well done!
Is he actually American because the way he speaks Hungarian is just wow.
Felfázás means cystitis and yeah, that can happen to you, i had the "pleasure" it's not the most comfortable thing. You have to go to bathroom often and when you pee it stings.
Greetings from Hungary :)
I'd add some back info to some of the topics you mentioned, becouse they pop up in several of these videos.
1. The cold bench thing: "felfázni" refers not in general catching cold, but to get a general sickness to you urogenital system (NOT including sexual infection!). It mostly contextual (but not only) for girls, becouse their urogenital system is shorter, that makes it easier to cool down below a certain temperature, which helps infectous germs to take over.
2. The toilet thing: That "bench" you mentioned may make the restroom somewhat smellier (just use ventillation: open the window), but it prevents splashbacks, when you drop the "substance". By doing this it lessens the chance of crossinfection. ;)
3:06 I'd say it's not actually true.
In towns and cities you don't greet random people ofcourse, but in villages, you greet everyone, even if you don't know them. It's rude not to do that.
Toilets: the platforms are there to avoid the "spalsh" effect if ya know what i mean. Its not a Hungarian thing, these kind of toilets are all over Europe. Smoking is a thing, also common everywhere in the former eastern bloc countries.
And i also have to mention: I have never heard any native english speaker pronouncing Hungarian words so well, you have a talent for languages.
I'm Hungarian and I'm impressed how PERFECT your Hungarian accent was! What surprised me even more that you were able to say the same sentence in two different accents... man, you were playing with them with ease! That means you must have a pretty good grasp of Hungarian sounds. You're more than capable of mastering our language without an accent if you want. Keep up the good work! Well done! :)
About the greetings of random people... if a stranger greets us without any reason on the street, we mostly think to ourselves: 'who the heck was that?'
And we don't use 'how do you do' as a greeting, we only use it if we're actually interested in the other person's well-being, otherwise it just seems like a shallow, useless question.
Wow, your accent is spot on. Not just the sounds but also the stress in the sentence as well. It's rare to hear from a foreigner.
Very good Hungarian accent.
The last sentence you said when comparing the Hungarian accent with the Slovakian hungarian one was very accurate! I am a Slovakian hungarian and I was amazed how well you pinpointed the difference. Cool stuff 😎
The way he said "láttam egy almát" at the end (the most duolingo thing to say btw XD) is just wow. If you took that out of context, I genuinely wouldn't have been able to tell that he's not one of us.
The country what is surrounded by itself ..😔 yeah that’s right ! Thanx for ur kind words ! ❤️
Im Slovakian/Hungary so yes wee spoke like that calling PALOC accent. But every post territory have own accent and wee proud about that :)
Wow, your pronunciation was so amazing!!! Unbelievable! Congrats 👏👏👏
Wowowow his pronunciation is extremely good!!!! And not only the official Hungarian pronunciation but the Slovak dialect too!!! I'm very impressed!!!!!!!
🇭🇺 🇭🇺 I am living in New York But I am proud to be Hungarian
When I lived in the UK, it took me a while to get used to the "Hi, how you doin'?" and "Hi, how are you?" and "Hi, all right?" due to the thing you just mentioned. When I moved back home, it took me a while to stop doing the same in hungarian.
When you are speaking hungarian, it's so accurate. :D I tought, no one can speak it well, because Our language is really hard to learn, But you said everything perfectly!! It's so good. Thank you very much for this. :D And come again.
Hey bud,
I'm from Hungary, and I have to say that I'm so impressed by your pronounciation. Well job you did there!
😁☺️✌️
I would actually believe you are born Hungarian and learned to speak English. Wow. Congrats, not many people can learn our language, and I never saw anyone do it so perfectly!
It is very much so with the offering something to drink or to eat. I remember my grandma whenever we went visiting her and didn´t tell her, she was actually angry with us why we came. If she by coincidence had cooked something, it was OK for us visiting her but if not...oh boy :D
This boy is clearly Hungarian or at least he has one parent who's from Hungary. There's just no way someone can learn our pronunciation of words to this degree.
I'm surprised how well you understand some aspects of Hungarian culture and language. Your accent was spot on by the way. Congrats! You're awesome!
Guys! Mashogyan kepzik a hangokat teljesen. Ezert vagyok biztos benne.) Egyebkent nagyon intelligens sracnak tunik. Peace out! ✌🏻🙃
In Buda hills there's the Children's Railway, wich is a railway run completely by children. It's really worth visiting! Good views!
your hungarian is AMAZING oh my it’s SO GOOD HAHAH i was so surprised so well done you’ve got good language skills ❤️
Yeah if you invite a person into your home, you have to give food and trink. It's just how it is.
By the way, BEST accent out of all the videos on this channel! Absolutely spot on. Very impressed.
Felfázni actually means "to catch a chill" and it isn't a cold, but in fact, a UTI (urinary tract infection) or bladder infection. Basically you have to pee every 5 minutes. It definitely could happen from exposing your lower parts to cold.
Felfazni = means. =Like a concrete bench transform the coldness into your body and you can get a cold from it or to your kidneys like Like a cold.
Great video! Your Hungarian is amazing. You're right about the "hi, how are you"'s: you suppose to have a previous relationship with somebody to ask about their well-being, and then they will give you a detailed answer, not just a simple"I'm fine thanks". I'm living in Toronto, Ontario. I use to teach Hungarian classes for Canadians, and I know it's pretty hard for a native English speaker to learn Hungarian.
8:14 omg that's so accurate!!
Good on you,I enjoyed this video.Well told.No fake news 👍
It's not heated water it is thermal water.
Wait, you don't give people foods and drinks when you invite them in your house???
The cash thing is about cheating on taxes, its gradually getting better but some taxes on small buisnesses are so stupidly designed that u cant run a buisness if u pay everything the way you should. So its just way harder too keep track of cash thats why they rather use cash than creditcards.
Great hungarian accent, congrats! You should not stop learn this beautiful language :)
AMERICANS ASKING YOU HOW ARE YOU??? BUT THEY REALY DON CARE!!!!!!!!!!!!! IF HUNGARIANS ASK YOU THAT THEY REALY WANT TO KNOW HOW ARE YOU !!!!!!!! HUGE DIFFERENCE
He is very charming.
When have you been there? They take cards everywhere.
Very cool guy with much knowledge
8:14 whoa that was really good 😳
We don't say hello we just nod. I think thats universal.
4:39 if it was in tomato sauce, then I think you got it mixed up with "töltött paprika" stuffed peppers, which is also stuffed with meat-rice balls. "Töltött káposzta" or stuffed cabbage is without tomato sauce, and might be red if they used paprika.
There is no tomato in "toltott kaposzta" stuffed cabbage. Otherwise interesting to see what you experienced :)
The first one is actually real and is painful. I've had the 'pleasure' of experiencing it because I sat on a cold rock for an hour 😣
wow this guy has a good ear to languages
You don't use 'how are you' as a greeting in most of the world.
K, I'm rising rght now and going to Hungary!
Your hungarian accent was very good!
Im hungaryan #teammagyar
🇭🇺🇭🇺🇭🇺🇭🇺
Speaking of the engagement rings: You forgot to mention that we are wearing the wedding band during the engagement period, vs in the U.S you guys do not do that, girls only wearing the other ring. When I lived there, all my American friends thought at first that I was married, because I was wearing my band too.... :) Just a little detail to add to your fun facts ;) Good job, btw, and amazing pronunciation!!!
I couldn't tell you are not Hungarian. You learned our language well.😊
If you sit on a cold bench you will get piles is the saying in the uk too
Felfázni means to get UTI.
What a pronounciation!!! Gratulálok! 😎
TúróRudi is best when simple, though. I wouldn't have the filled ones. just sayin'.
Kidney issues later in life from the cold bench
Your hungarian is incredible
Your accent is cute
Wow nice pronunciation!
sounds like you were in very rural Hungary You almost never see those platforms
Szarma blood sausage is very good
My favourite thumbnail ever 😂
YOUR HUNGARIAN IS REALY GOOD.. BRAVO
I was so surprized by his accent even im not that good and im hungarian lmao
In Hungary, when you go to you're grandma, you are thin. If you come from grandma you have diabetes because she cooks and if you don't eat three plates of food she's gonna think that you don't like it
U re welcome in Hungary, come back any time. And please visit not only Budapest! Outside Budapest is much nicer! And dont be scared to use public transport to another city.
Hol van a magyar felirat? Hehe
It use to be under Austrian Hungarian empire
szia én vagok Daniel nem tudok..
I really hate the platform toilets too, I really don't understand them and I've been living here almost my whole life.
You probably don't know the last Romanian revolution was started in Hingarian speaking city, Timisora..
people who dont know if they are sitting on a cold bench they going to be ill
I'm Mexican and I wish I could visit hungry
You're just too young w/ the cold bench thing.
you are not a girl so probably that is why, girls felfázni more easily. felfázás refers to the inflammation of unirary tracts.
very small shops don't accept credit cards. many people are old and also because of working black, without a contract. they take all their money out from their account if they have.
