I enjoyed this video a lot, she is such a nice person. I loved the Hungarian words at the end - I could understand all of it, despite her cute American accent :)
I think your pronounciation was really really understandable, at least I could make out every word and it was delighful to hear all that blessing that you said. I hope you're doing great :D
Nailed the language pretty good in a short period of time. It is not perfect, but understandable, pronounced the words cute. Usually takes 3 yrs to speak hungarian for a native english speaker in a very good level. Tanks for the nice words about us, I enjoyed your video. (I studied english for 12 years and use it nearly every day. I still make mistakes.)
I met a British woman who could speak Magyar quite well after just a few months. She had this system that worked well: "Tegnap el...ment...em a mozi...ba a barát...aim...mal". Kinda slow but effective, she treated all the agglutination as separate words, it seems. The funny thing is, she could not speak noticeably better after years.
Hmm, but the history is actually quite clear on our origins? In 895 Árpád, son of Álmos, led the seven magyar tribes from the region of Etelköz (modern day Ukraine) into the Carpathian basin, which they conquered and settled by the year 900. Hungarians have been here ever since. The Magyars were a horse-riding nomadic tribal people (like the early Huns and later Mongols) who migrated from the Ural steppes around 1000 b.C gradually moving south and then west. This is also where the Hungarian language split from the rest of the Finno-Ugric languages (Ugric - Mansi, Khanty / Finno - Finnish, Estonian). Genetically the magyars weren't a homogenous group, due to their continuos mixing with other Scythian type, nomadic tribes throughout the centuries.
“They have a prime minister or you could say president.” Well no, we have both. A prime minister is the head of government while the president is the head of state. In the US the president is both but in other countries they are separated.

Could you learn the public transport system easily? Don't worry about the language, sometimes people speak in a really incomprehensible way, that not even I can understand.
Well they probably have transit maps but names are hard to pronounce sometimes, there are likely bilingual tour guides get one to show you around for a few days. They are friendly people I think but take a dictionary or translator along too.
The term Hungary comes from the combined landname of the Huns + Onugors(magyar), not mentioning(nor including) our 3rd related nation the Avars who were the original owners of Transylvania.. :-(

Nice effort to speak, but it is not so much about the vowels, more like the music of it. Where do you place more weight. In Italian it is more obvious.
Congrats! Your Hungarian is very well and your accent is cute. Thanks for your beautiful words of my country 🙏
Thank you the great words. From Hungary❤
Wow, that was a very impressive history recap!

Nice one at the end, you nailed it! I'm glad you liked it in here, and you were pretty close to where I live (Várpalota) when you were at Hajmáskér.

Magyar language is actually quite easy to understand, much easier than English, especially considering all the dialects. Speaking it is the challenge.
