I adore his voice in this song. The hair on my arms always stand up when I hear this version. Found a live version of him singing this only yesterday and it's just amazing.

*Rory.* Thanks for this. 🙂✌️ This was a cover of a 1966 classic by Lorraine Ellison. It was released a year before his death at age 52. Chris could sing *anything.* He had a bit of training, but what we hear and respond to is his pure genuine emotion on every track, every time 🔥 Hang in there ❤️

Lorraine Ellison’s version is fantastic… but there is something raw and emotional with Chris Cornell singing it ✌🏼❤️🔥🔥 Michael Buble would be auto tuned sounding to me ( even if he wasn’t 😂) Chris Cornell makes me want to cry… always a good sign LOL
Exactly. Michael Buble may be able to technically pull this off (and other classics like covering Nina Simone) but all of his performances just leave me cold. When Chris sings, it hits me hard every time.

The only training Chris has was after he made it. He shared a voice coach with Layne stayley for a short while
