I just finished my play through of this and needed to see what you thought of the game. I actually do work as a Firelookout in the Alberta boreal forest. Sitting in my cupola as I type this actually. It may not be true to the experience but it is an amazing amazing game. I really really enjoyed your play through and seeing how your choices of dialogue where different from my own and even your choices of when to engage with Delilah.
It's unfortunately this stream wasn't as viewed as your other ones, especially TWDG. Firewatch is one of those rare games you probably only get to experience once. I've played it once a year, always during the hottest days of the summer, since 2016. I imagine a lot of people were left disappointed/frustrated, wanting some major conspiracy to be revealed by a Deus ex machina holding a McGuffin... But, this was never that kind of game. It's meant to be a mature examination at how we confront, and more importantly run away, from our problems. We like to "invent" conspiracies and grand plots against us as we get older and deal with more and more challenges. I think this game perfectly, and poignantly, embodied what it was meant to be in that regard. I'm only starting this stream now but I'm crossing my fingers you enjoyed it!
This video was just what I needed after today, can't wait to watch all of it! If you're enjoying the indie games, you absolutely have to check out "Superliminal," "The Stanley Parable Ultra Deluxe," "Oxenfree," and absolutely most of all, "The Outer Wilds" with the dlc included. But all of these games are best played completely blind.
I've gone down a rabbit hole of games that are fun to watch other people play. (I've watched several Outer Wilds players and a couple all the way through yours included). I'm begging you to do "Chants of Sennaar". I've never seen a game with so much potential for the player to develop complex, extensive and wrong theories. And the "wrong" multiplies. Assumptions built on assumptions. Mainly a puzzle game. But more like a social puzzle. Very mellow laid back controls. It hits many of your strengths... puzzles distibuted across the entire game, social, linguistic, great looking unique color schemes... and a little dependence on video game skills. It would push your style though maybe... sometimes in this game one is really stuck, like stuck in a puzzle math type thing... You could always at least start a playthrough and see if you think it would work. But like Outer Wilds... the first time is the only time, can't play it twice. Chants of Sennaar is almost zero information game. You have to figure out to do pretty much everything. But most importantly.... this game has the best potential for players to go down wildly diverse mistaken strategies. So much so that it becomes entertainment itself to watch players so blindly flail towards understanding. (Is there a better place to suggest games?) Pretty please!!
Hope this is not a spoiler. But when you see the college sweather from University of Eastern Colorado, Look at the Big Horn logo it's the same as in Last of us part 1. This is a 100% confirmed TLoS part 1 Easter egg. GO BIGHORNS! @KastaclysmArchive Happy holidays!
