How to solve exponential equations when they are able to be manipulated into having common bases. This is a special case where the equation can be simplified into having only one exponential expression on each side of the equation.

what did you think calculus was based on? the language of calculus itself depends upon algebra 2 and trig@david-ue6ed

@david-ue6edCalculus utilizes the things we learned in Algebra 2, these subjects come back with different and more advanced application.

im attempting to learn all the way to super symmetry at home. im beginning with the fundamentals to master them and I want to pay homage bc homage is owed. Professor Leonard thank you so much for taking the time and sharing your love and passion and career with us for free nonetheless. When a person does something like this to this detail its bc they have a true passion for the subject. Im honored to share the same lifetime. You can tell when someone loves the subject bc they can make something so complicated become so simple. This is true genius. Being able to explain something so everyone can understand. thank you thank you thank you. im excited to tackle the later more advance math but not until I master the infrastructure :)

23:47 He factors it, and that's totally fine. But you can also use the quadratic formula here and get the same result. I sometimes have issues with mixing up numbers or dropping signs when I'm doing calculations by hand, so any time I can put it into a calculator to verify accuracy, I like to. Hope that helps some of you out there.

Professor Leonard, thank you for Solving and Explaining Exponential Equations with Common Bases. This material is simple to follow as long as students knows the laws of exponents with common bases.

I was always under the impression that while this rule, while it works MOST of the time, doesn't work ALL of the time. I know that this is not always true when talking about complex numbers, but I feel as though there are some other examples, other than trivial cases such as a base of 0 or 1. Can you please confirm or deny?
