Agree with your list and taste. I would add "anything thats south of Bangkok in Thailand" , reason being the kind of TOURISTS one finds there .( Backpacker/party ). and anyplace thats like it. Yes , and Varanasi. and Pokhara , Nepal. and Playa del Carmen , MX. and Belize City.Guatemala City. San Jose , Costa Rica.
Ahah I hadn’t visited South Thailand, but yeah it attracts an interesting mix of barely 18 year old backpackers and “spiritually awakened” 40 year olds 😂
As an Istanbulite currently living in Canada, when I saw the footage of Istanbul in the intro I had an anxiety attack with the fear that Istanbul is included in the list.
I generally agree with your list but I strongly disagree about your perception of Brussels. It's a city I've gone back to many times and I always discover something new. Apart from what you describe, there're just so many hidden architectural architectural gems, but they require you to be knowledgeable about the history of architecture and to go visit them inside. There's also the nightlife, etc. I also think you had extremely bad experiences in the Canaries based on typical British holidays. Go outside the "guiri" hotspots and you'll discover amazing places in all three islands you mentioned. It doesn't take much more than some willingness amd curiosity.
Thanks for your comment! Maybe i’ll reconsider in future years aahah! First, there are so many places in Latin America and Asia I want to tick of my list ahaha
I haven't been to quite as many places yet, and mostly within Europe apart from a couple of exceptions, but here are some I personally wouldn't return to: 1. Hurghada, Egypt. This was my second ever trip, I went when I was 19. I had some great experiences, like diving with dolphins, riding a camel and driving a dune buggy, but the city itself was dirty outside of the touristy marina, and the local shopkeepers were really aggressive. I was offered drugs and one tried to lock me into his shop and take my wallet. 2. Middlesbrough, UK. I visited 20 or so cities in the UK this summer on an Interrail trip and went here solely because of cheap accommodation. The city had a pretty shady vibe to it, and my wife wasn't happy returning to the hotel at nighttime, since it wasn't in the nicest part of town either. We just took day trips from here during our 2 night stay, went to Durham for example which was lovely and worth another visit. 3. Brussels, Belgium. I kind of agree with the points you gave in the video. It had quite a shady vibe to it, and I didn't particularly enjoy my short stay there. I almost saw the flower carpet on the main square, but it would've been assembled the day I had to leave. That would've been kind of nice to see. 4. Bialystok, Poland. I really agree with what you said on the video. I stayed here for a night just because of cheap accommodation while I was on my way from Krakow to Kaunas. I had some time to see the city center the next day, and honestly that was enough. There isn't much at all to see, the city as a whole is dull and ugly. Sorry everyone who's from there, but I really don't see a reason for anyone to visit the place. 5. Nice and Marseille, France. Honestly, I expected both of these to be a lot nicer. They were touristy, but still boring. There wasn't that much to see and they weren't very pretty either. The views from the Marseille train station were really nice, but that's about it.
Horrible choice to put nuernberg into this, I agree with evvery single take on all the other cities which I got to visit, but acutally enjoyed my time in nuernberg much more than in most other cities in central europe. When I visited first it was nice and warm wether in July and it stroke my mind that you could actually swimm inside of the river called pegnitz. It wasnt to overcrowded and besides the old town there is also nice architecutre in St Johannis which often flyes under the radar. So I went back to Nuernberg again last year in december to witness the famous christmas market and loved the athmospheare at Gostenhof christmas market. The whole City connects tradition, history and modern charme.

A city that I had really high hopes for was Seville. I'm not sure why but I felt a bit flat when I was there. I didn't hate it but travelled to Cadiz for a day. Much smaller but I found it far more alluring.
Ive been to Las palmas 2 years ago. Definitely not rundown anymore! Havent been to Lagos, but I guess it doesnt really qualify as city. Id return to Bialystok - been 2.5 years ago, I found it quite charming and cheap. Apartment overlooking oldtown for less than 30 euro. Re Dubrovnik: Even over 10 years ago a bed in a tiny shared dorm was over 30 euro I think. I can only imagine what it is now.
I can’t even remember if I visited Las Palmas as a kid ahahah. But it looks ok on google. And yes Dubrovnik was insane 2 years ago - I imagine this summer it was outrageous! 😭
I have been to all of the cities, and there are so many things I disagree with. For example Valencia, which has so much beauty to offer, much more than Madrid
Interesting list. I'd say a very correct ranking. Personally I would add: London, Paris, Vilnius, Klaipeda and most of Lithuania and Belgrade. And well: India is a no go zone to me, all of their cities 😃
