    “Don’t wait for motivation.” YOU ARE SPEAKING TO MEEEE. Thank you. Hearing this is motivating 🙏

      I once heard someone say we seek motivation in a backwards fashion most times. Something like it’s the act of doing that actually causes the right things to fire within your body (chemicals, hormones, synapses) to spark motivation. So literary just starting will inevitably kindle the fire within that will propel you forward. You can do it!

    Thank you so much for sharing your experience and knowledge with us Morgan! I always learned so much!
    “Nice clients that you don’t want to work with…” I think these are the clients that will get you caught up. It’s easy to say no to the toxic ones but the “nice” clients can trick you sometimes. 🥴🤷🏾‍♀️😂

    Hi Morgan, I've been a fan of all of your videos and advice! When I was affected by a layoff at my job last year and wanted to really understand bookkeeping, I found your channel! I got my QBO Pro Advisor Certification last May and just last month I actually got a full time job as an accountant/bookkeeper because I already had the certification and basic accounting knowledge!
    Keep up the great work and Happy New Year!

I’m from Mexico and I move one year ago to WV because I meet my husband, and thanks to you and all your nice videos I am motivated enough to change career and start as a Bookkeeper

    Yes!!! I love the suggestion to start now AND the part about doing what you want!! I took that advice about toxic clients to heart and can happily say I’ve not taken on a client that wasn’t a good fit. I almost did when I first started, but then told myself, “No, leave this space for someone you will love working with” I feel like that had been a test of sorts, and I passed! Hahaha. ❤

      Hi! I'm so glad you found Morgan's advice and found it beneficial in finding the right clients for you. That's one of the best parts of owning your own business, you're allowed the freedom to say no.

    Thank you for sharing this video. I believe those 10 points you made mention, in the video, are even of such encouragement to me in my Bookkeeping and Accounting business. Hopefully, I will use these ideas to help me to get more clients for my business. I hope you are doing well in your business, even as I am trying to succeed in my business. All the best to you, and I look forward to seeing more of your upcoming videos if you will have any.

    I came across your video in search of starting my bookkeeping business. I am going to be raw and say there something holding me back. I believe it is fear. Fear of making a huge mistake, being taken advantage of or even not knowing where to start. The mind is a powerful thing and have so many supporting me in starting my business. I guess I need to just start. 🤓

    Saying No to clients is something I really need to work on. It really was an aha for me when you said that "you don't even have to take on nice clients that you don't want to work with". I have taken on a lot of "nice" clients that I don't want to work with. Do you have a video on creative ways to say no to clients? Or how to disengage with clients? I need that!!

    • @FinePointsBookkeeping
      @FinePointsBookkeeping  Рік тому

      Hi Christina! Morgan does not currently have a video on how to tell your client no or disengage from them, but I will let her know it's something you're interested in for a future video!

    Hi I have a question about the "give back" item: do you report/record the pro bono work through your business or is it "off the record"? (I currently do all the books for a nonprofit rescue)ok--thanks for any feedback and thanks so much for your AWESOME channel!

    May I be a stickler and say I've noticed immediately this video is not filed into a playlist.

    As I get older, I realize that I do not want to "deal" or "cope" with the negativity of others, so I concur with 'do what you want' mantra, but I am a life-long non-conformist.
    Question: May I ask for a "fixed-income bookkeeping Top 5" or "VA Pension Bookkeeping Top 5?"

    Ok first off I love your videos! But I have a question. I have a client who's bank disconnects basically weekly and after doing their books for a year I have finally gotten them to understand how to fix the connection but is there a way to fix this. All their accounts are with Emprise Bank

    • @FinePointsBookkeeping
      @FinePointsBookkeeping  Рік тому

      Hmm, that is annoying. Mine only disconnects occasionally, and definitely when the password is changed. I do think that different banks pair better with QBO. What if you had your client make YOU a bank login (they may need to call or visit the bank if it's not possible to do this online). Then, you would have more control of QBO--when it disconnects, you could simply put in your own password to reconnect it (and the client wouldn't have to bother with it). Not sure if that helps your workflow, but hopefully better than waiting on the client to fix it. Otherwise, you could chat with Intuit about if they have other ideas about how to fix the bank always disconnecting.
