Josh you should sleep on the top bunk and give the bottom one to Diesel so he keeps his hair and toys to himself. That's what I would do personally. Beautiful truck man!

the Moment you realise that westernstar have many things from the interior out of the MB Actros mp4 (Europe truck)
Nothing quite like the smell of a new truck. About your couch covers, get some 6 ft. long water pipe insulation, cut them to fit and wedge them between the seat cushions / arms and seat cushions/ back It will keep you're seat covers in place without pins.
The air volume adjustment screw is located on the regulator part of the air chamber, use a 5.5 mm hex wrench or Allen key. Use a long #2 driver through the front to set the tone lower or higher. Should be able to break Windows if you adjust it correctly.
I being a KW guy love your new truck and the horn was the only disappointing part of the Western Star. A lot of tucks are going automatic. I wish you health, happiness and prosperity with your new truck.

Josh love western star and I agree they need to fix the horn. Also my father drives a western star 4900 with a Detroit DD15 560 hp and the turbo sounds amazing. Hope this guy has a nice sound to it. Can't wait for Friday!!!!

For your couch covers go to Wally-World AKA Wall-Mart and buy Diaper pins they have a safety on them so your mutt wont get stuck.

Congratulations on the truck! Some air horns are tunable. Ask the shop to tune them, and see what they say.
I tried keeping the plastic on a sleeper mattress once. Made me sweat anywhere my skin was against the plastic. Even through a sheet and I tried putting a blanket in between myself and the plastic too. Hope it works out better for you.

Josh I have been watching your videos since 28k subs (summer 2014). I hadn't watched them since about fall of 2015 and just started watching them again. You're at 56k now so that's double what you were at when I started watching so I'd just like to say congrats! Like the new truck!

im driving an 01 western star and i wouldnt have it anyother way except for a new one. minus def of course. cb is on the dash and thats a weird weird place for your mirrors and engine brake. such a beautiful truck.
i knew a driver when i was leased with KLM-KLMM in 1980 that had a Western Star and he liked his.

The last air pressure gauge is for suspension and not application.
my dad drives a 1998 4900 and its air horn has a nice growl to it it dosent sound like a goose
the air horn might sound better when you get rolling and your air pressure is up.
lactose free milk is real milk josh... we have had it in comercial sale in norway for about 70 years now

The steering column looks exactly like a Mercedes Actros MP4. Only the logo on the steeringwheel is different.

Nothing wrong with the horn. After they walk past you wearing New Truck Smell perfume you can goose them with that horn.
It's funny you should mention a goose.....I often give a toot on the airhorn when I'm passing a group of geese lol

Josh, give us some updates on how the WesternStar feels different from the Freightliner and Peterbuilt when you have driven it for awhile! I don't see many of them on the roads in California! I currently drive a Mack Pinnacle day cab by the way and it weighs about a thousand pounds more than a Freightliner and Kenworth! Thank You

The third air gauge is not applied brake air it's pounds per square inch on your rears. The heavier the load the higher that gauge will read

bed looks small.. I believe that is suspension pressure gauge on drives but I been wrong before. Overall great truck.

The horn on my 2001 Toyota Highlander sounds exactly like a roadrunner horn.

That's the new design of the Western Stars. Really don't see that many on the road.
That airhorn sounds like a Wolo one... same one I have... electronic horn almost... which is what I put on my 4x4 only because I didn't want a compressor

OK dude, you have to put a nice triple train horn on that truck, I love a rig that sounds like locomotive going down the tracks (road) lol.

The 5700 is Phantom model Western Star, which is built on top of a Freightliner chassis. These are made in North Carolina right along side the Cascadia. They just put the steel WS cab on them instead of the aluminium Freightliner. if you want to hear a real WS horn, you should jump in a 4900 model
+DutchDude Not a big surprise in today's economy, since they are both owned by Daimler. They would be crazy not to share parts. Volvo and Mack, and KW and Pete also use many of the same components with different bodies.

You recently found lactose free milk well surprise ! look for lactose free cheese, flavored milk , yogurt and spread! its not just milk you can get Josh.....buy the others and your allergies might improve :) (i only know of these as my son is also lactose intolerant )

God bless you brother sorry I haven't been around lately I've been just trying to get well I had my 19th back surgery recently and they took out my spinal stimulator and got out all the Mercer they scraped out so now I'm done IV treatments at home appreciate your prayers brother love you guys.
