That was terrific Jeremy. A great little first vid for those who are a bit unsure how to go about recording. Love your professional presentation too. Keep it going and stay safe.
What I really miss are the standard ( In - Out - Thru ).. MIDI connections from back in the day.. I have a Baldwin Digital Baby Grand - 1990 with a General Instrument Sound engine. It has the standard MIDI ports. I have just replaced the memory battery. Which was soldered on the main board. I just soldered new wires to it and used an old memory battery holder from a old Motherboard and Voila !! Replaced it with a 2032 lithium batt.. Watching your videos has made me a better player. Thank You!
Great introduction to using a DAW Jeremy. For anyone not familiar with DAW programs (Digital Audio Workstations), Jeremy has at least a couple of other introductory videos. Cakewalk is probably the most popular free DAW, and it is so powerful that quite a few users prefer it to a lot of paid ones. It works only with with Windows (this is a correction to the original posting - sorry) although Windows is rapidly becoming the best and most popular platform to use. If this is new to you follow Jeremy's instructions carefully as Cakewalk is very powerful and if you deviate you might get lost by opening other features before you know enough to use them. This is an advantage of course, as by starting out in this simple approach you can then later explore the program more widely as you become more confident. Exploring is fun as Jeremy demonstrated at the end of this video. [There's a huge number of videos available to take you through learning the more advanced features.]
@@JeremySee Thanks Jeremy - you are welcome. Getting off topic, things down under are much the same just now but I'm very concerned at what's occurring in the US, with demonstrations in sympathy in various countries including Australia. Not only the violence, but all this 'social' contact risking new peaks in Coronavirus.
hey you seem to know how to use this i have an issue, in the "insert instrument" thing there is no electric piano or anything its just got one that says "MIDI ONLY" and i cant add an electric piano, help!
Thanks. Nice example. I would love to see a classical piece of music recorded with the standard keyboard then record the same song using a good virtual piano and then compare the quality of both.
this is so great Jeremy..i think I should just venture with this first. I was planning to buy a new keyboard for my aging ctk 5200. After seeing this I realized that I still haven't used my keyboard to its full potential.
Dear Jeremy, I jumped at your title even though my Casio is a predecessor, the CTK-2400. It's used of course, but ever so neatly re-packaged. Thus, if my CTK-2400 is not up to this ( it's not for recording purposes but rather the downloading from the net of Classical music midi files, and then the ...slow...learning learning to play these works) then I will resell it. Thank you
Thankyou so much. I was in doubt that do i need any audio interface for beginner music production Now i only need my keyboard and laptop.Searching for this for a week. Thanks!!
Jeremy, Stuart from the UK here, I’m expecting a Casio CTK 3500 to be delivered on Monday from Amazon. Have already ordered a USB printer type cable, so will update you on how I get on with recording my own music. Thanks very much for this tutorial. Stu.
@@JeremySee thank you. I did learn on an old electric organ about 30-40 years ago, when they were popular. Since then I have owned a Roland electric piano, but since donating that to a local school about 7 or 8 years ago, my fingers haven’t tinkled the ivories (except around Christmas time when the shops up town have kids keyboards in then I’ll do a rendition of carols while walking by. Very festive).
Excellent Jeremy...Thank you so much, for your´s fantantics videos...I have since 2018, this keyboard and enjoy it, every second...Regards, from Bogotá DC- Colombia...You are welcome...in my Country, every day...!!!
Thank you Jeremy, great tutorial! I've followed it step-by-step, all works so far and I can choose my CTK-3500 as MIDI input device. But when I start a new project, I can't see any instruments when choosing "insert instrument..." . Do you have any idea what might have gone wrong?
wait-a-minute! So I can create multi-tracks and compose a beautiful symphony orchestra without an audio interface, like FocusRite?? Whoa! Do you know if the Casio WK6500 have the same set up "local on-off"?
great, escept that the sound that comes out of my laptop speakers is too low, so how to keep the sound coming out of the controlers speakers in local off?
When i right click to select instrument, all i see is default tts1 and there is nothing else i can chose. The program can detect my piano but i can't change any sounds on it.
Thank you! it works excellent. One question - it doesn't record the built-in songs only what I'm playing with my keyboard. Is there an option to record also the built-in songs?
Jeremy, Stuart Banks from the UK again, I have received my CTK 3500 and downloaded Bandlab and Cakewalk as instructed. To clarify, you can but it requires a different cable to record the audio from the keyboard and not the MIDI information it sends through the cable addressed in this video. In doing this however, you would also be limited to playing these effects manually as the only way to use the keyboard effects is to record analog audio.
This is exactly what I'm looking for and more. Thanks for putting this out there!
Have fun!
@@JeremySee Hi did you know if this model is compatible with the Synthesia app?
help pls
Step by step, precise and to the point. Thank you, J.
Thank you Jeremy for this nice tutorial. I was earlier using FL Studio with my CTK 3500. but Cakewalk looks more promising. Love from India
