Both are basically the same game, the genesis only has slightly better graphics. I doubt any human being has ever passed the Nuclear Plant stage. It's so brutal it seems almost broken.
This game actually carries a reference to "They Live". The reference is in the glasses used to see who's an alien and who isn't. That and the fact that Bart has to be the one to put them in their place.

This game was friggin impossible?! So many little random things you were meant to figure out with no hints or tips or logic!? Like, at 6:19 How were you meant to know that playing a whistle outside a window would make an old man come out and throw money?! It wasn't hinted in the Instruction Manual. It isn't logical?! It's not like a common Movie Trope that: "Oh that's right! Whenever you play a whistle near a Retirement Home window, an old man will throw coins at you"?! Did the Developers expect the kids playing this game to just buy the whistle and walk through every screen and play the whistle until something happened?! Gah!!
I said the same thing! I knew about everything else, but when I seen the whistle with the coins out the window..I was amazed, like how?!!? Maybe it was in a cheat magazine or something
It was much better than now , there is no game we cant beat at this point, at all. Dark souls at the hardest NG doesnt stop us. My fondest gaming memories, aside from stuff like re2 ocarina of time metal gear solid megaman legends, was all the classic games i loved but couldnt beat...left so much wonder and incentive to return.

Say what you will about this version, I like the fact that it features actual shops from the show in level 2. Also, does anyone else think the music in level 4 sounds sort of like the theme from Inspector Gadget?
Jamás pude pasar el nivel 2. Era muy confuso, la verdad. Y el día que descubrí cómo pasar el primer nivel hay momentos que si se te fue el cartero o Moe (que encima van rápido) y no alcanzabas a pintarlos, chau, todo de cero otra vez. Incluso si algo hacías salía Martín de rosa y yo tratando de pintarlo, perdía todas las vidas y ahora veo que no hacía falta jajajaja. La jugabilidad encima era pésima.
It took me 3 weeks to know how to beat ONLY THE first level, mainly cuz how interactive you have to be with the level during that stage, the rest of the game doesnt have that, second level is just rage fuel

I had the PAL version with the slow music... But not speaking English at the time and not having the manual made it really hard to understand what to do haha
This is WAAAAAY better than the NES version imo. Especially the music... for the first level anyway. After that, yuck. But better than endlessly looping the same low quality version of the show theme.
It is an unfair game although in terms of using the source material it's one of the best at capturing the show. The Amiga version is actually slightly better.
Mastered the nintendo version, this one felt way harder. The Nintendo version seemed to have more effort put into it too. Like boss music, sound effects ( some instances where enemies are hit and it's just silence compared to the nes, maggie just having the final rod in the last level where as in the NES use her pacifier, very strange experience to play them both. The only thing I think the Sega version improved was the T-Rex boss.

I didn't know I had to use the phone or paint the postman red that's why there was a barrier in front of me before I got to the boss fight but I managed to get to him and I just knew that I did a glitch by running and then using the whistle a few distance before the barrier and then i look To the left and so I was able to pass the barrier and win first level
I played this game a lot on Game Gear. The 16bit version has better controls. It's a fun but hard game. I was able to reach the 3rd stage when I was young
Somehow this sounds and in a way, looks, worse than the NES version. I found that out with many games, like frogger looks way better on the SNES than it does on the Sega Genesis.

That's the first and only Simspons game I've played. I think I will try Hit and Run someday since it's considered the best Simspons game.
