Be sure your room temperature is not overly hot, best to on aircond while making, if too hot butter melted instead of soften in any stage will cause it to bake n turn flat

Oh wow glad u like the taste. Oh, must be sure to use soften butter ya?also dont overmix the dough or else will be tough. Make sure the cookies dough consistency is soft to touch but not sticky to hand before baking
