Thank you for this video I need to timestamp things because I'm doing this job on stumps since I don't have a lift but I have a crane hoist so this is the best way for me. Way easier than the bmw sitting next to the Honda. I have to cars with blown engines and that need full rebuilds so I am doing them together. The catch is that one is rear wheel and the other is front. Both auto trans. I have limited budget and HAND tools. I machine everything and refurbish back to manufacture specs. I am eternally grateful for comprehensive videos like this one. Thank you.
Beautiful video, I was planning on pulling it out the top for my JDM swap and this video confirmed, this has to be the easiest way, especially without a lift. Thanks man.
I concur top out with cherry picker is the best method; I used leveler with picker helps a lot with weight. I did this in 2018 with JDM D17A and rebuilt Synchrotech 5 MT. The only different approach to the axles, I removed the pinch bolts on the strut; the CV axle nut and left ball joint alone since car was in garage for the entire project: day one disassembly, day two was assembly (with already prepped motor and trans). My last mod was the EPS swap from 02 Civic Si. I did this because the leaking PS. I also I have 02 EX, and still my daily.
Unless it's a manual trans I say go to a thicker oil and never change oil again just keep on slow drip and change filters. Run it till it blows or you get bored with it.

Glad it helped

Looks like it’s easier from the top…just watching videos on how to do it for when I rebuild my engine in the future
SUPER helpful. Thank you. Please keep up the good work.
Thanks, will do!
The capacitors being on made me laugh 🤣🤣🤣
Glad you caught that even a electronic Tech makes mistakes lol
Would it work to cut that rubber of the wiring back of the glove box and let the metal hold the rubber?
Good video, thanks for this.
Cool bro
Did you end up making a follow-up of separating the transmission from the engine?
no
Do I need to drain oil / tranny fluid? Or is it okay if I just pop out axels & whatever spills top it off when engine back in?
its a bit cleaner to drain the trans only like 1.5 qts of fluid in the manual trans
@@ElectronicMechanic50 yeah, ended up draining whole tranny. Bought a squeeze bottle to push fluid into fill bolt
Very well done video
20:20 (remember for later)
Good tip and Subscribed
Thanks for the sub!
Did you have any trouble putting it back in?
Nope just as easy as taking it out
How do you get the axels back in
Would it be the same if it’s an automatic? or would I leave the tranny there?
For most part same just some differences like shifter linkage and wiring and trans cooler lines
Can you leave the harness on while doing it
Yes the engine harness went with the engine
My question exactly! Thanks for asking and answering
Is it manual?
yes
IS THAT A 20V IMPACT?
Milwaukee M18 1/4'' impact driver one of my favorite tools.
2001

You obviously didn't watch the video. It was definitely a manual.
