Same here, I’m wondering what this talk about not hitting is coming from , this one enter for me I didn’t even fuck with work of art like that but this ? Argh na my album be this , worldwide on repeat
The problem I have with this analysis is that the speaker is constantly comparing this album to Asake's previous albums with every metric. Can't we all just enjoy it like this is is the first time we are hearing Asake? It is a super super album in my books. The streaming numbers, the album is pulling already affirms this too. You can't hate on numbers. Meanwhile the speaker likes like 70% of the songs on the album but he's still in denial that it's a good album 😂😂😂
This was supposed to be an album review but what Adeayo did essentially was a comparison of this album with Asake's two previous albums (infact that was the main question from the anchor Elvis to Adeayo after the initial preambles- listen from 10:55 to 11:10). That in my own opinion is never how to review an album. You should discuss the internal strengths and weaknesses of the album on its own with respect to themes like songwriting/lyrics, sonics, production, tracklisting, thematic cohesion, intro & outro, featured artists and how they fared, temporal comparison/placement with respect to other afrobeats album released so far in the year among other parameters. You should also score or rate the album over 10. You will then go on to rank this album in his discography which was about the only thing Adeayo did. The intro track was a decent idea in my own opinion, whether it was on the same level as Dull and Olorun from previous albums is an entirely different conversation. How about that brilliant end to the album? Nothing was said about it. This album was in two parts to me, Tracks 1-7 the mid tempo new Asake, Track 8 i.e. Skating was more of an interlude, then Tracks 9-15 the old Asake we always knew. Overall it's an enjoyable album with good replay value. I'll score it a solid 7/10. I also think it will rank 3rd in his discography, I will score the previous albums 9/10 each but that takes nothing away from the quality of this latest album. Feedbacks from music critics like Adeayo are very well needed to advance the afrobeats culture and to keep our artists on their feet, but I think this review was poorly done. I will score him 5/10 for a rather poor approach to an album review.
D problem is asake is just too good, it's like when Messi scored 50 goals in a La Liga season and d next season he scored 46 then somebody is complaining because he didn't score 50 as if 46 is not insane aswell
This guy no sabi. The replay value is crazyyyyy. I’ve played the album from beginning to end more than 20 times. Uhmm yeah is a really good song, agreed, suru too is a fantastic song. This active that y’all are hyping like this doesn’t even do it for me but I feel it’ll do well internationally . Active and wave were just a bit above average but other songs??? They are fantastic. The replay value is really good, you can play it countless times. Suru, mood, skating, whine, Fuji vibe especially wan blow my head, crazy stuff.
1. He compelete the trifecta 😅😅. No doubt 2. Asake experimented and thats a bold move. He prove he's a superstar 3. The album is not bad, have a good replay value but is too long, some songs shouldnt make it to be album. Also, the former two classic album didnt make this new one sounds good to we the fans 4. Adedayo criticism is harder than Motolani sha 😂😂
Adeayo is such an excellent music critic. He mentioned practically every I felt about the album. Asake can sing but vocally he was timid on this lungu boy. I am not syaing he should be yelling b/c he never yells on songs but that vocal play like terminator, joha, great guy, awodi, introduction, 2:30, basquiat, Remember!!!!!!!!!!...Chai.... I feel Asake is not as hungry as before. It happens. Still a good album and will break records b/c of expectations and good features but as an asake standard, nah, he fell short. Lesson here is to not listen to noise and stick to what works for you!. Fela never changed, bob marley never changed, listeners adapted to them. Mkae listerners adapt to you, don change to please anybody cos there is a reason they gravitated to you in the first place.
I think he missed something, I love the album, and the instrumentation. But it an album you can't dance to it. I know is not reggae, but I'm getting the reggae vibes. ❤❤
The oart where they were ralking abou t taking one song out of an ablum in terms of album success the questionnaire said "unavailable" by davido with a calm voice 😂😂😂💔 oh yeah i heard that!!😭😂💔
This is 4 weeks, and MMS is still topping the Apple Music Nigeria Chart. Everything this guy just said does not make an iota of sense. Why bring your bias to an analysis?
no comments on worldwide, if you listen to the guy he only mentioned like 4 bad songs on the album.. i'll say he criticized the producer more.. it was a disappointment to everyone, cos evryone was expecting magicsticks to produce the album. literally shades p.prime that he didint produce well
That's not asake we used to know. The album is messed up since he left olamide. You can see the difference now. What is the meaning of skating repeating it more than 100 times.I give the album 3/10
One thing I’ve notice is that, that asake’s manager is not a serious minded person, watch his performances they are rubbish. The songs pick are nonsense, stage use is ridiculously bad running around just in crowd unduely and to unorganised. They best songs are not performed and asake whos records always come with heavy backup he’s performing in arenas with no backups which is killing the taste of the music. So rounded by people that want to be in that circle without a real musical contributions. Slopping down if he doesn’t take caution. And i think that Davido interview got to him, that he said awake can not record with olamide presence with is stupid. Songwriting is not an artist single responsibility on professional p. I
Your takes are shallow and doesn’t make sense to me. On Rema’s Albulm HEIS review you mentioned there’s heavy beats and heart pumping lyrics but said it’s a flop. Now on Asakes album you mentioned it’s a flop also because there no heart pumping lyrics and heavy beats. Your reviews are confusing. 🤦🏽♂️ 🙄
He never called any album a "flop", u Stans are d ones using that word. He only said not their greatest albums. Which is. His opinion though. For Rema's I disagree with him.. But for this Asake album, I largely agree with him. He also acknowledged that it will be a commercial success which is the facts.
@@santusunuovoraye6886 he doesn’t have to mention the word flop before you know what he means. if you listen to the Rema’s review he did say something along that line without mentioning the word flop. He said it’s not a success and this Asake’s albums he’s saying the same thing. Correct me if I am wrong . I do rate Rema’s album though
@@kelvin9543 I get u, but I think the word "flop" is abuse by Stans. Rating an album isn't 'binary'. He wrote the review for the album on pulse & I think he gave it a 6.5 which is a "Good rating", not necessarily an excellent rating but "good". "Flop" is a very bad rating and I don't think I have ever seen this guy's rate an album flop according to their ratings. I hope u get me ? Stans just wants every1 to rate their fave's album a 10/10. My point is it's his opinion, u can disagree with him but it's not fair to accuse him of something he didn't say. I didn't agree with him too about Rema's album cos I thought that album was an 8/10. What I don't like is Stans making any1 with a differing opinion the enemy. I think he tries to be as "objective" as possible but differing opinions is fine, but u shld make it make sense rather than throw tantrums. That's my point
Funny enough, this is the only Asake album I listened to continuously
Me too

Same💯💯
This was really good. Shout out to Adeayo
Me I love dat song with wizkid and many people love it too
That’s easily the best song on the album. But that bias of disregarding everything Wizkid won’t let people see it
@@xpager but that guy is an analyst, he shouldn't have bias at all

U will live long
Lungu Boy is a good album but not better than Asake's previous two album. However, the production is expectedly superb hence, it's a great album.
The production is crazy, big ups to @big P! for some productions.
please talk about timaya album next week
I like how he added Asake amongst the big 4, Rema just Dey make mouth, yes he is good but Asake comes before him Biko
That ughh yeah song is amazing
🔥🔥🔥 he knows his craft
Lungu boy is getting the Love Damini treatment...Good albums but suffering from the quality of 2 classics dropped before them
D problem is asake is just too good, it's like when Messi scored 50 goals in a La Liga season and d next season he scored 46 then somebody is complaining because he didn't score 50 as if 46 is not insane aswell
This comment 👌🔥
That's why low-key for me, I told them is better than Love, Damini
But the difference is that Love Damini was actually a great body of work that was underappreciated...
Lungu boy was just a disappointment

Based on the standards his previous projects set
He didn't deliver
I think the melodies of the pianos are offbeat and not on point that what driving his approach to the beat.
The Album nor sweet I beg. It's the poorest of what I have heard from Asake. Say it the way it is.
