I'm glad to see the variety of older cards. Most of your lists only involve cards from the last decade. It's nice to see some of the older cards like Reverse Trap and Magical Hats. Another old card I'd recommend for this list would be Draconic Attack. It can only be equip to a Warrior monster, it increases their attack by 500, and it changes their type to Dragon. To my knowledge, this is the only equip spell card that changes a card's type and the only type change card that only affects one monster.
A really good one he missed is Convulsion of Nature which flips both players' decks upsidedown. On it's own it doesn't do much, but you can use cards like Archfiend's Oath, Ghiski Diviner, and The True Name for advantage. Honestly it's one of my favorite cards in the game! 😄

I suggested this before, but it sorta ties into this theme. Effects you're surprised don't exist on cards yet (however you want to interpret that). For example, over a decade ago I came up with a spell card that destroys a monster on the field, but the destruction in considered "by battle."
Time Magic Hammer is also the only level 2 fusion monster in the game. That it took 15 years to get one is actually relevant mechanically since it meant you couldn’t use Metamorphosis to clear Ojama tokens (and morphing jar) when Metamorphosis and fusion deck size were unlimited. pleased to see mischief on this list. my favorite meme card in the game. as an added bonus, i find it amusing that the entire archetype is referencing the anime ah! my goddess.
REverse Trap was part of my favorite OTK back when I played a decade and a half ago. I'd get out a 3000 atk beatstick and equip it with Twin swords of Flashing Light Tryce, and Shooting Star Bow Ceal to reduce its atk 1500 but let it attack twice directly, and then reverse trap on attack so I could theoretically attack twice directly for 4500. it wasn't reliable, but it was still janky and fun
I always had fun finding interesting ways to use twin swords. My favorite is in a Destiny Hero deck with Dystopia. Dystopia destroys my opponent's monster, resets its attack back to normal, giving me a 2800 that can attack twice, and the possibility that the discard cost of the spell was used to set up a graveyard effect like Malicious or something.
Theres a ruling where you can not use Mischief of the Time Goddess on Turn 1 at all for some arbitrary reason. Also the Anime effect isnt restricted to the Valkery Archetype. GX Prince Ojin used it on turn 1
@@soukenmarufwt5224 it's been like 10-11 years since i've seen that zero turn kill episode of GX. i just remember the satellite thingy. thanks for sharing.
Can prob chain Dai Dance to cards that would summon multiple monsters at the same time (i.e. return from a different dimension) since it blocks multiple monsters from being summoned to multiple zones
Mischief of the Time Goddess is pretty straightforward with rulings in my opinion. "Skip to" means not to do any rulings that would take place in the skipped phases
Magical Hats and Penguin Soldier can be really funny together if the opponent hits the Penguin. You get to bounce both cards summoned via Magical Hats back to your hand with Penguins effect if they do. (Tried it on one of the old games, can't believe I never thought of it before...)
I aint hatin my man but there is no real math involved in the number one spot's effect, it's simply remembering the result of a dice roll and counting down, which is still deserving of the number one spot, just had to get that off my chest Been binge watching your videos lately! Love them :) great work on this one as always
4:40 - not just ATK, L&DD also lost DEF if its effect is used to counter other effect. Just want to point that little part out. But yes, that is true L&DD lost ATK whenever other card effect(s) is activated.
I haven’t played Yugioh in years but I remember building a decent Alien deck, which was like the Only archetype that had anything to do with the placement of players cards.
I loved Convulsion of Nature back in the day. It kinda started my fetish of "fortune telling" decks...(Before fortune ladies were a thing). I'd use stuff like CoN, Remove Trap, Bait Doll, stuff that lets me see what cards are on the field, even if the effect doesn't 100% work (Like i would use de spell on a face down s/t, knowing it would just show me a trap card anyway, but atleast I knew what it was (I think despell worked on face down cards as well, i cant remember, but you get my point))
I feel like you could make a similar video for cards that don't have complicated effects, but are just worded strangely. Looking at you, Penguin Knight.
What confuses me is this. The rulebook clearly states, " Each face-up Attack Position monster you control is allowed 1 attack per turn.". Note that it says, once per TURN, and not once per battle phase. This means monsters should only be allowed to attack once per turn, even if you get two battle phases. But maybe I'm wrong somehow?
About Mischief of the Time Goddess, it also makes the turn number jump forward by 2, on top of giving you a second battle phase and while making the turn number go up doesn't sound important, if you use Final Countdown first, then it helps get to turn 20 much easier, especially with 3 copies!
In "Do A, and if you do, do B", both A and B happen simultaneously. A is required for B, but NOT vice-versa: if A does not happen, then stop; even if B cannot happen, you still do A
My brother ran a deck back in the day that used Reverse Trap, Flash Assailant, and Infinite Cards to bait players into nuking their selves with their biggest monsters.
Rampaging Rhynos is an effect monster with 1500 atk and has a weird effect. What it does it moves itself to the same column as the opponent's monster is in. During the damage step it gains 500 atk, only when its in the same column as the opponent's monster

@@bobbysimpson7027 make it worth it by confusing tf outta your opponent, synchro summon ancient sacred wyvern while at a major lp disadvantage with a set reverse trap. Was a very funny way to turn the tide on your opponent.
I always remember D-HERO Dusktopia's effect that says "Target 1 Card; make it unnable to be destroyed" or something like that. I mean, that's a pretty weird way to give destruction protection, because it could Say "target 1 Card; it cannot be destroyed" but, no, it says "make it UNNABLE to be destroyed". Best thing is, it's not an old Card with old weird writing, it's actually New (which is obvious, because it is a D-HERO, and more important, it appeared in ARC-V) so it's just a recent weird-written card
3:21 Why not use it for when you have a monster that essentially forces your opponent to attack it when its in the same column? Therefore when your opponent could just avoid that column, you force them into that disadvantageous position. Edit: Heck, it could even be used to stop a tribute summon right?

Patrician of Darkness while on the field allows you to select your opponent’s attack targets. Opponent : “I would like to declare an attack, please “.
Mischief of the Time Goddess is an excellent start. had no idea it couldn't be added to ygopro

Poor, predictable Bart. Always takes rock
Good old rock, nothing beats it!
I thought Solomon lawbook will including in this list
Surprised Yu-Jo Friendship is not on the list. It’s the only card that involves a handshake. Pretty funny.
This was a ton of fun to watch lol. I love weird cards in Yugioh, and every other card game for that matter.
For #3 don't forget Dark Sanctuary as well, which can pull spirit messages from the deck as monsters
TheDuelLogs: "And here we have Reverse Trap."
Me, a degenerate: *trying not to laugh*
Sneek thicc
I have a feeling that in the not so far future konami will be releasing a card that can only resolve its effect if the player knows advanced calculus.
Mischief of the Time Goddess is pretty straightforward with rulings in my opinion. "Skip to" means not to do any rulings that would take place in the skipped phases
I can't believe you didn't mention Reversal Quiz
Magical Hats and Penguin Soldier can be really funny together if the opponent hits the Penguin. You get to bounce both cards summoned via Magical Hats back to your hand with Penguins effect if they do. (Tried it on one of the old games, can't believe I never thought of it before...)
I aint hatin my man but there is no real math involved in the number one spot's effect, it's simply remembering the result of a dice roll and counting down, which is still deserving of the number one spot, just had to get that off my chest
Been binge watching your videos lately!
Was hoping to see the card “question” on here lol I liked that card and would use it in my deck back in the day just for fun.
Yes! These kind of cards are the reason I like Yugioh.
Also. How is my boy, convulsion on Nature not on this list!? He turns the deck upside down.
The rulebook clearly states, " Each face-up Attack Position monster
you control is allowed 1 attack per turn.". Note that it says, once per TURN, and not once per battle phase. This means monsters should only be allowed to attack once per turn, even if you get two battle phases. But maybe I'm wrong somehow?
Really late, but where card text conflicts with rules, card text wins, unless there are direct ruling in place such as when darkness approaches.
You forgot Giant Solder of stone.
It litterly is the only card that cam attack the moon.
Actually every Rock Monster can that
Thanks to
"Attack the moon" ...
About Mischief of the Time Goddess, it also makes the turn number jump forward by 2, on top of giving you a second battle phase and while making the turn number go up doesn't sound important, if you use Final Countdown first, then it helps get to turn 20 much easier, especially with 3 copies!
Use Reverse Trap with Apollousa for infinite monster negates.
no
In "Do A, and if you do, do B", both A and B happen simultaneously. A is required for B, but NOT vice-versa: if A does not happen, then stop; even if B cannot happen, you still do A
Unfortunately it only happen once per reverse trap, so you only get +6 negations at best
Calm down Satan
My brother ran a deck back in the day that used Reverse Trap, Flash Assailant, and Infinite Cards to bait players into nuking their selves with their biggest monsters.
magical hats is the only card that summons spell and trap cards to your monster zones.
*Dark Sanctuary wants to know your location *
Rampaging Rhynos is an effect monster with 1500 atk and has a weird effect. What it does it moves itself to the same column as the opponent's monster is in. During the damage step it gains 500 atk, only when its in the same column as the opponent's monster
11:43 Linear Equation Cannon also requires you to use algebra for its effect now
"You actually have to be good at rock, paper, scissors" like it's a hard game to comprehend lol, I know thats not what you meant but that's the way you made it sound at least to me lol, love your content tho man this isn't a diss
These gave me some really crazy ideas for custom cards.... Like a Synchro based deck with effects full of math equations.... XD
Oh man the backing track is so soothing :D
light and darkness dragon + reverse trap = infinite negations in one turn.
He already stated that it can only be used once
@@bobbysimpson7027 make it worth it by confusing tf outta your opponent, synchro summon ancient sacred wyvern while at a major lp disadvantage with a set reverse trap. Was a very funny way to turn the tide on your opponent.
Transmission Gear: Requires rock, paper, scissors...
Cries in Leorio
It would be great to see a Part 2 to this or maybe a Top 10 weird Spell/Trap cards.
3:21
Why not use it for when you have a monster that essentially forces your opponent to attack it when its in the same column? Therefore when your opponent could just avoid that column, you force them into that disadvantageous position.
Edit: Heck, it could even be used to stop a tribute summon right?
@3:33
So a appolousa /reverse trap combo would make her a beast?
hahaha **Laughs in IDK :/
No. It would be a similar ruling thing as with Light and Darkness Dragon.
I thibk Magical Hats might be one of my favorite cards, conceptually. It has a generically beneficial effect that isn't quite good enough to run on its own, but is ripe for combining with other cards to do things that aren’t necessarily broken, but grt you balue in a way that most players wouldn't even consider
The time goddess card sounds like one of those times not to directly lift the card from the anime
