So many memories with this as a kid. I wasn't in school yet so I'd have the gameboy to myself during school nights when my older siblings went to bed. I'd be up late playing this in my corner of the room while waiting for Dexter's Lab and other Cartoon Cartoon show reruns to come on the TV. Good times.
Ah yes.. the song that won't get out of your fucking head for a good decade. I have been whistling this song while doing groceries.
The hi diddle lee dee theme?
"Papa! I'm going to school!" "Okay, Pinocchio! Try not to get firebombed on the way!"
Or kidnapped by some strange fox that *totally* doesn't look like a kidnapped.
pinocchio in privacy, almost caught fire
This game was so scary when I was 8 years old... couldn’t even finish the first level.
Yeah, something about pinocchio strolling willy-nilly through this ghost town was pretty unnerving. And those damn seagulls didn't help. Or the fact that none of the characters had recognizable faces. Or the weird ass music. I hated it. :/
It's kind of funny though how they made a children's game unintentionally scary!
Juli I beat the whole game when I was little
haha my man same here
I never managed to finish the rollercoaster level
The 8-bit renditions of "An Actor's Life For Me", "Give A Little Whistle", and "When You Wish Upon A Star" sound flawless!
The music was done by the legendary Mark Cooksey, so that makes sense that the music is good!
Could never get past the roller coaster as a kid.
The animation on Pinocchio's sprite, as well as a few others, looks unnaturally smooth and fluid most of the time for an original Game Boy title. There are also a couple pixels that pop in around the top of Pinocchio's sprite during certain frames of his walking animation. That makes me wonder if they directly based some of the sprites off of the original animation cells or off of stills from the film itself, with the pixels and occasional awkward jerkiness of the sprite animations being the effect of some artifacting from digitally scaling down the images to make the sprites. Just an observation.
+DurradonXylles There have clearly re-used the sprites made for the SNES/Mega Drive version of the game (which were made by Disney animators I believe), just scaled-down for the gameboy's limitations. This is truly a prime example of a console game quickly downgraded for the gameboy.
@@captainviggo4575 regardless while not the best on GB, I feel the animation & graphics look impressive, and they did an ok job porting/redoing the game on lower hardware. The Gameboy was actually capable of pretty good graphics sometimes. Some games looked better then the NES, color/pixel issues aside.
They did something similar with Donkey Kong Country.
The total mood whiplash in 11:55
From Pinocchio's animation and the music and the enemies lurking in the dark. Yeah no wonder it put fear into my little brain back then.
I just realized how many other people found this game terrifying
As a 6-7 Year old kid i played this Game a lot. I surely played through it 30 or 40 times. The Scary Music on the Ship Wreck Level scared the Shit out of me everytime.
Those animations are really good
I can't believe that I finished that game like 3 times back in the late 90s~ It was super hard game~
I remember playing this when I was a kid. Now that I see it again, I'm noticing some insanely bad hit detection on that kick. It seems like there's no way to hit an enemy with it without getting hit yourself....
I can't believe i played the whole game when i was 8 years old, the sounds haunted me for a while lol
damn that roller coaster was hell when I was a kid! And the last stage was terrifying!
This is so fantastic, i never made it through the roller coster... I remember the pain
I just finished Lies of P and then I remembered that it wasn't the first Pinocchio game that I've played. Completely forgot about the existence of this title till now. This game was bizzare and kinda creepy, especially since I didn't know english as a kid.
Pinocchio: Fantasy and Musical and Family And Adventure For A Year: 2022
Strange.
I remember I played it through very quick when I was a kid.
Now it looks so difficult. Normally it's the other way around.
One of the few games I actually managed to beat as a little kid. Still remember the satisfaction of finally finishing it.
I still don't know why I had to keep head down when the roller coaster is moving via the wooden stick
I loved this game
The theme is more enjoyable then snes version
Had the SNES version as a kid, it was meh, never knew that there was an original Game Boy version however.
That was my childhood :)
I was so disappointed by this game, I think it was to hard for me. I just couldn't figure out what to do at all.
Me lembrei da minha infância obrigado
I like this music in this game
Skipped school cause of this game😊
I remember the movie of 1940 ik wacth 18 years
GAME OVER All Players Fainted! Floor Reached F5
I LOVE THIS GAME
What an antagonistic game.
This was the game bruh
Game looks awesome on the snes.
God that music is grating
Pinocchio stealing Mickey Mouse's moves from Mickey Mania.
Disney is known for recycling animations throughout their movies. And the animators had their hands in both games as well.
ScareScraper Totals of F5 24:53 Penguin Toad
O jogo é meio lento, mas os gráficos da época são bons, parabéns pelo vídeo!!!
É Impressionante Rodar Um Jogo MD/SNES No Game Boy.

NOSTALGIA
where's the puppets dance stage?
It's not present in the Game Boy version.
Le jeu Pinocchio sur GB est un jeu très moyen mais ont ressent bien l'ambiance du film néanmoins.
The SNES version is better
Of Course. This Is 8-Bit.
Snes is total trash copared with mega drive version
iulian ispas, sign of a fanboy of the worst variety. The games are the exact same, go sit your ass down. Who sold the most consoles in the end eh? Not Sega, that's for sure, when even in it's home country of Japan, it wasn't top dog.
@@Bloodreign1 "The games are the exact same"
Well, that's not exactly true. Back then consoles were drastically different in their tech. Some games looked and played much better on the Snes, some better on the Genesis. They had many different ways of dealing with game speed, colours and sprite effects. Then there was the screen crunch whenever the Snes couldn't present the games at their proper resolutions, but the Genesis had lots of ugly dithering while the Snes versions looked much more vibrant. The Snes was able to stretch and scale backgrounds seamlessly while the Genesis had choppy scaling, but its processor was crazy fast in comparison. The different controllers also affected the gameplay. Some games were made with certain control types in mind. Street Fighter on Super Nintendo's controller was much more playable than on Segas 3 button controller (I know, there was a 6 button controller, but you had to buy that separately).
As for this game, I don't know which version is better. But one IS better.
This game is mega short...
Floor 5 Failed!
童年…
I watch a lot of stuff like this, im trying to see everything befor I die, after 20 seconds it was nice but the gameplay was bad, player needs more skill and more Dirrection towards the end of the level, cause look this video is kinda long, would love to watch all threw but your Thumb is a spazz
+ted belcher It took him only 25 minutes. That´s not long for me.
>rants that the video is long.
>it's a LONGplay channel.
>Logick.
GameBoy versions are slow that’s the problem, it hurts for me to think about the awful Toy Story GameBoy port
