Kev, your attitude and approach to life is absolutely awesome. Win or lose your positivity towards everything is so refreshing! My fav RC channel by a country mile! Keep up the fantastic work!
Hey Kevin I've actually done both vinyl and carbon fiber and I've learned that the key to making it actually look like a creaseless seamless paint job is to do it in sections top half from the trunk to the hood then the front and rear bumpers would be done separately and then the sides would be done separately and my experience I had good results every time no creases and the heat gun made it look great after a while I began combining that process with the hydro dip mixing paint jobs with vinyls and paint jobs with carbon fiber
Good try, you did a lot better than i would have. Here's a thought for you, build a box frame and attach the vinyl than heat it up and press the body down into it.
13:34 🤣🤣🤣that was some funny shit, I couldn't stop laughing. I really thought it was gonna come out good, than, pop hahahaha. Give it yiannimize he'll get it done for ya
If you were going to be putting a different colour on the windows and bed then I'd say it could be done. First work out where the panels join on the real car and that's where you have your edges. Secondly do the back (starting right behind the cab) and work your way back, you're going to have to make some cuts on the corners, so have the edges end up where the tailgate sides are. The front is just about the same but you're starting on the back of the cab and working forward. If you are putting on the decals after then you can use them to cover the joins. Don't forget that when they wrap a real car they make lots of cuts, thy just know how to hide them.
The right way of working on your RC car is with Kevin & Stempy in the same room so that you can laugh your butt off with the two crazy awesome guys who are insanely silly. 😂
Kev maybe you could cut out some graphic designs or separate panels with the wrap instead of trying to wrap the whole thing at once. Could spruce up the look of it without too much hassle
You got guts lol as someone who does vehicle wraps for a living for the last six years and I wouldn't want to wrap my RC body lol, they are too flimsy and you can't pull the vinyl like you want not to mention the key to wrapping is heat like a torch or heat gun and I'm sure the lexan or whatever the bodies are made out of will melt.
Ha ha Kevin your so funny mate. 🤣😂🤣Great tips on the body but leave the wrapping alone lol. Thought you had done it. Great attempt mate. Fantastic vid .👊👍👊👍
great first go, you didn't fail.. you just found one way of not doing it :) .. it is totally possible to wrap that in one go.. as others have said.. definitely need high quality wrap, and more practice.. watch vids of the pros wrapping car mirrors.. pre-stretch, then form.. , and as others said.. you can also try hydro dipping, very doable in a home shop.. also with some practice and watching some vids to get the general idea :)
Can do in one peice with quality film. They do alot of complex stuff. Quality film can stretch so much if it's what your after def worth the few extra bucks for good vinyl. I do wrap and custom paint. Honestly just paint it with the same hobby paint. Just paint the outside then use a premium plastic clear coat. Shouldn't flake off but worth a shot. And if scratch up the clear coat hit with sand paper n shoot more clear.... just idea
what settings do you have your Max 6 at Kev? I just bought one and would like to know. If you have gone over it in a previous video could you link it for me?
Chores buddy, chores. Like an adult you got to work to get your toys. I am currently saving to get a UDR. I can not justify 900 in one go so I am saving up for it. Also kinda cool to have something to look forward to! (UDR + charger + lipos = 900)
Im thirteen two my name is shannon im using my mums account i wanted a traxxas slash forever i had a really bad siezure was in the hospital for weeks for mri and lmbre puncture when they let me go mum brought me a traxxas slash im so happy with it
I used a couple of cheap brands , Kev. Before biting the bullet and getting decent 3m stuff. 200 percent easier to use and surprisingly durable. Cheaper still. Use the stuff in a tin. Cheers for the entertainment bud!
It is possible so u can try to do it from the bottom and Mack your way up cuz if you do it from the top you get more chances to make a mistake .try to use a credit card to smoth it out better
Kev, your attitude and approach to life is absolutely awesome. Win or lose your positivity towards everything is so refreshing! My fav RC channel by a country mile! Keep up the fantastic work!
Always makes me smile when Kev laughs while saying hows it goin guys.

hydro dip it! it is easer cheaper? cool patterns all you need is a big bucket and water! plus that kind of video gets a lot of views!
yep defo the way to go
If you mask the outer and dip the inside on a clear shell it would be good.
@@cwatson42785 yeah it's practically spay paint ssoooooo 😉
@@marcel5837 yep lol
But will Hydro bond to these unbreakable shells is the question. I have heard they cannot be painted.
Good try, you did a lot better than i would have. Here's a thought for you, build a box frame and attach the vinyl than heat it up and press the body down into it.
Coat a body in good truck bed liner and then paint it red.
Looks good from a distance!! About 5 miles..hehehe well done for giving it a go..!!
After a long week at work I needed a good laugh Kev lol keep up the videos. Cheers mate
For the wrap can you not do it in section like the real car wrappers.
Hey man that's what the hobby is all about trial and error and do what makes you happy
What kev said at 5:28-5:36 put a smile on my face, he was exactly true when he said that. Keep up the good work! 👍
It’s doable but you need to do it in sections
That’s how they do real cars
exactly :)
Cars have separate panels, thats why they can do it in sections, you cant do it in sections on a one peice body
well im sorry but ive wrapped a van and still on big section of rear say, its more than one piece of wrap on same panel ;)
That's true. They wrap snowmobiles the same way with separate pieces per each panel
13:34 🤣🤣🤣that was some funny shit, I couldn't stop laughing. I really thought it was gonna come out good, than, pop hahahaha. Give it yiannimize he'll get it done for ya
Get some truck bed liner spray and spray both sides of the plastic body shell. That will make it more durable for sure!

omg, this thing looks like absolute nightmare but i love the attitude :)
Just watched this older vid of yours every time I see you fail but still laugh at it makes my blood pressure drop
Nailed It!! Go Kev!
If you never give it a go you never know. 👍
Yes I agree hydro dip it. Also have you considered getting a dye and dying it any color that you want you could dye it red???
You got guts lol as someone who does vehicle wraps for a living for the last six years and I wouldn't want to wrap my RC body lol, they are too flimsy and you can't pull the vinyl like you want not to mention the key to wrapping is heat like a torch or heat gun and I'm sure the lexan or whatever the bodies are made out of will melt.
"..from a distance, and out of focus...." 😂👍
I like how you try to keep your bodyshell unique!
Kevin must say positive attitude awesome with keeping it real brother
Yes you right mate,
If You are happy with it,,

Wooo , I can't tell the difference fro a painted one....EXCELLENT ; )
I know this vid is a little old, but do you think a rit dye would work.. like we used to do back in the day with plastic rims?
I like your always no BS videos, regardless of what the outcome. Keep uploading new videos Kev. Thanks for making our day :-)
Are you Eliana de la Cruzs brother
You can measure one hole and then zeroing it, then measure both holes and you have the middle bang on :) Of course if both holes are same size.
It still looks good 😄👍👍 loving your honesty..
Try hydrodiping that body Kevin. There are nice videos on UA-cam how to do it yourself with a large waterbucket and some spraypaint. 😉😉🇱🇺
Damn that was great!! Heres an easy fix for it.... Step one- put lighter fluid on it. Step 2- light it on fire...it will definitely shrink!
And do they do indestructible body shells for the rustler ?
not sure he probably does
Ha ha Kevin your so funny mate. 🤣😂🤣Great tips on the body but leave the wrapping alone lol. Thought you had done it. Great attempt mate. Fantastic vid .👊👍👊👍
What about in sections instead of one big piece? Would it be to hard to try to meet the sections together? I have no idea just throwing ideas it there
Omg!!🤣🤣 you had me laughing so hard!! Love it!!
my rc-god - kevin !
greez from germany !

I dunno maybe try each body party individually, hood, door, fender, etc.
LMAO HAHAHAHAHA😂😂😂😂😂😂 That was hilarious kev. 👏 👏 it was a great idea anyway. Don't know till you try.
Is the body going to beater
Wow pure craftsmanship👌🏻 lol
Hmm.......Im not sure all the professional Rappers are watching your videos, they must be to busy "singing" =)
Awesome vid mate!
Rapping while wrapping

I really love your approach to projects. Try and succeed or try and lean, there's no fails.
You motivated me to keep my projects going, thankyou!
Try cutting it in the worst areas to fit perfectly. I know that isn't what you are wanting but try it.
always a good laugh mate keep it up, the best RC channel i have seen.
R&D makes a great RC.☺
Your channel is awesome I have a traxxas slash 2wd

Yes it's very hard to do but good try mate love your videos awesome
Lol this is like my kid trying to wrap a Xmas present lol
You guys have no idea how much i want to have a traxxas car cuz its way too expensive and im just 13 and i love THE SUSPENSION!
Chores buddy, chores. Like an adult you got to work to get your toys. I am currently saving to get a UDR. I can not justify 900 in one go so I am saving up for it. Also kinda cool to have something to look forward to! (UDR + charger + lipos = 900)

"it came out absolutely perfect!"

What is the street car up there? Make a video on it!
Absolute brilliant video!!! Loved it!
Cheers!
dang it, I was sleeping when the notification came on.
I bet you could wrap an axial bomber body pretty easy. I kinf of want to wrap my old/stock body.
Luv ur channels and positivity, much respect. ✌
Vinyl wrap can probably work on rc bodies but you probably have to do it in sections in order it to work
Hahahah at first I thought it was going to work !!!
Is the ERevo worth it?
I would say so, love mine :)
I used a couple of cheap brands , Kev. Before biting the bullet and getting decent 3m stuff. 200 percent easier to use and surprisingly durable. Cheaper still. Use the stuff in a tin. Cheers for the entertainment bud!
Where get to buy
Great video mate 👍🏻
Just a thought try to cut it into panels and then apply
Hey man it's doable but that's not easy and you tried that's for sure big ups for that have a good one brother👊👊👍👍🤙🤙🤙
Ray Charles said it looks great 😂 great seeing the positive attitude though all joking aside 👍😁
Super awesome video look good👍👍👍💪💪💪😎😎
LMAO! Great effort! Just saved me some headache and a lot of cussing, keep up the great videos.
Can you dye the body rather than wrapping it
It is possible so u can try to do it from the bottom and Mack your way up cuz if you do it from the top you get more chances to make a mistake .try to use a credit card to smoth it out better
Awesome job mate lol
I always wanted to try to spray rhino liner on one lol.
It may be possible on a less complex body shell like the bug shell for the slash
Better than I'd have done Lol id have it everywhere but the bloody shell
Ur supposed to vacuum wrap to complex surfaces with loads of heat over the entire piece evenly, can’t believe an expert says it cant be done 😱😱
What song did you use for your video? It’s really catchy.
It can be done just cut into smaller pieces to fit the hood top fenders bed and so on or just dip it
You're videos are amazing
Have you thought about hydro dipping Kev
Hi kev i have rpm arms and bumper and fastrax driveshafts is there any other upgrades i can do on my rustler great vid
