S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is a first-person-shooter survival horror video game series developed by GSC Game World. The series is set in an alternate version of the present-day Chornobyl Exclusion Zone in Ukraine, where, according to the series' backstory, a mysterious second Chornobyl disaster took place in 2006. As a result, the area's physical, chemical, and biological processes were altered, spawning numerous nature-defying anomalies, artifacts, and mutants. The player takes the role of a ""stalker"" - a name given to trespassers and adventurers who have come to explore the exclusion zone and its strange phenomena.
The series is loosely based on the novel Roadside Picnic by Arkady and Boris Strugatsky, and influenced by the movie Stalker by Andrei Tarkovsky. The name ""S.T.A.L.K.E.R."" is a backronym for Scavengers, Trespassers, Adventurers, Loners, Killers, Explorers, and Robbers.
G.A.M.M.A is a large community-driven project combining the work of many modders, and each and everyone one of them is contributing to making S.T.A.L.K.E.R Anomaly a better experience. G.A.M.M.A. aims at providing a balanced survival, scavenging, cooking, crafting, and repairing focused experience with extended progression and smooth gameplay.

Spec Ops REACT to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. GAMMA - Ігри
Wow this is crazy, I never thought such a video would be made on gamma. Completely unexpected haha ❤
I hope they know you made the modpack
Gamma is the only thing I play now. Awesome job
thank you so much for this modpack grok, youre an absolute G for this amazing stalker experience. EFP made my save softlock due to an unavoidable crash, but GAMMA has given me no major issues after hours and hours of playing. truly amazing
EFP VS GAMMA
it'll forever be my favorite game and i wish i could play your re-iteration of it. sadly i always stutter and can't play. even with play the "turn on if you stutter option" lol.
So here is a little neat tidbit.
There are certain level designers in S.T.A.L.K.E.R who made the underground sections of this game. Those guys then broke off to become 4A Games and then started off their new game known as Metro 2033.
Explains why the agroprom underground is very similar to the tunnels in metro 2033
@@slavcow it's also either alleged or proven they've stolen some assets from STALKER for metro 2033.
@@raresmocanu1743 im pretty sure they did
Что за чушь. Я могу поверить что некоторые люди прикладывали руки и к stalker и к metro, но они никак не похожи. А слова про воровство уровней так вообще полная чушь
@Thawne I know for sure I heard this but can only find an article where the founder of GSG accuses the guys from 4A and they deny it. Heard more details in some yt video but can't find anything anymore.
Whoa never expected Gamology to cover GAMMA at all, so that's pretty cool.
Me neither 😂😂
It was indeed very unexpected
What's so unexpected about it? It's a channel that covers videogames, who else should cover it Guga?
@@martysonn well I mean s.t.a.l.k.e.r. it's a pretty underrated game not a lot of people knows it so yeah it's unexpected, for me at least
@@martysonn Like the other comment said, S.T.A.L.K.E.R as a franchise is relatively niche, and GAMMA is a mod pack for a modified version of all three games known as Stalker Anomaly, which is arguably more popular but GAMMA is like, a niche of a niche. So it's a surprise that Gamology, which usually covers more mainstream games is showcasing this to their audience.
I'm so happy stalker is getting the recognition it deserves! I was so surprised to see Gamology publishing a video about it.
@@Thawne1338well, it's a great game. a great game that typically only has cult following🤷♂️
@Thawne The game isn't a household name like Halo, Call of Duty, or Battlefield. It's pretty niche, and used to be before the GAMMA modpack craze last year, you had to look it up specifically to know about it. The first game of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series was released almost twenty years ago now, and the last official game was released in 2009.
It's a diamond in the rough. So much jank, can be unforgiving, rather unorthodox by today's gaming trends (e.g.. no HUD elements telling you what to do or where to go, etc.), but the people who play it tend to love it if they aren't quick to condemn the games for not being more like the FPS games of the present. Dogs? Easy enough to kill in one hit in Call of Duty, right? Well, if you play S.T.A.L.K.E.R like you play CoD, you'll get torn apart by a pack of dogs five minutes into your first playthrough... if you don't step into a tear in the fabric of reality and blow up into chunks of meat and viscera first.
No other game I've played of the same genre does atmosphere as well as the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games do. The games are king in this respect to me, and I've yet to find a game with a better, more authentic environment and feel to thr surroundings as the locales in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. At least, I haven't seen anything braindead triple A developers nowadays create that can top this.
GAMMA consumed 4 months of my life when the craze to play it began; I played it for a few hours daily back then and it took me a while to finally slow down or put it down to play something else. And 99% of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. content is exclusively singleplayer, mind you. It's like Fallout: New Vegas in that sense: it's a solo, offlline experience, yet people dump hundreds of hours into it for good reason.
@@zen_7748 Perfect response to Thawne1338's question!
Gamma is like a mutated version of the Original stalkers, Stalker gamma is trying to be something stalker isn't. Stalker gamma is full of mechanics and "realism", Stalker isn't supposed to be tarkovlike.
@Tolik "ANOMALOUS DOOGUT" There are only so many times people can play the OG 3 games, plus the story mods before they get old fast. As much as I appreciate the less mechanics-heavy S.T.A.L.K.E.R games and mods, GAMMA brought the S.T.A.L.K.E.R name to more people's attention, people who wouldn't have heard of or tried out the games if GAMMA or Anomaly didn't exist. Anomaly and by extension, GAMMA, gave players a mod with more mechanics, therefore more replay value.
I understand if, at the time of S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 Heart of Chernobyl's release, most people complained that it wasn't as heavy on the mechanics as a community-made mod like GAMMA, but that isn't the case yet. Appreciating GAMMA or Anomaly doesn't have to mean shunning the original experience brought by SoC, CS, and CoP.
It's Operator Drewsky's gameplay!
Loved the show!
Also, there's no other players, but the AI is unforgiving.
@The Grim Reaper great to know :)
@The Grim Reaper I asked
Okay... so it's a PvE tavkov/metro game? Which i would love to try cuz i love these kinds of games
@@hierarchlaurence less like metro more like tarkov but you cant extract from the zone and almost everything wants you ded
@@Mr_wisk that's mildly... scary and interesting... definitely gonna try this out sometime
The reason Operator Drewski was using the TOZ (Boltie shotty) for so long, was because in Stalker GAMMA, weapons have durability, and most enemy weapons are critical durability. You need to collect things like new gas tubes, bolts, trigger mechanisms to repair them and increase their durability, and you need kits to repair and maintain their cleanliness and you need to repair their barrels in order to do the most damage with each gun.
You also can't buy weapons from traders, only weapon parts and repairs
NGL the TOZ especially the O/U Sawn-off one are one of my fav shooter since it's very light and can wreck everything with right ammo that also comes very plentiful/cheap.
Weapon durability was a feature in orogonal Stalker as well.
@@sciarpecyril Yeah, but most weapons were usable off the bodies. Not in GAMMA, and repairing them is an involved process.
@@56bturn I kinda hate how it is in GAMMA tbh. Like, every single person carries a broken piece of junk, but it always shoots perfectly for them, but not for you. It's dumb and takes away from realism.
I understand that it's supposed to make obtaining good guns harder, but at least make them like 25% durability and not 1-2%.
@@sabnock31 You can change the values now so you can get better quality guns by killing more experienced and harder enemies so trainees drop broken ass gear while veterans drop less broken gear.
The original devs of metro were originally the devs of S.T.A.L.K.E.R Shadow of Chernobyl and devs of EFT took inspiration from stalker for their game
Metro devs even managed to bring back STALKER's Bandit VA to voice Metro's Bandits. Too bad they didn't say Cheeki Breeki tho :(
and then gamma/efp modpack devs took inspirations back from what has been made in eft
also one of the devs for EFT worked on STALKER, pretty neat
Fun fact, Escape from Tarkov is named after a producer Tarkovsky that made Stalker film which was adaptation of a novel Roadside Picnic by Strugatsky brothers. Both film and novel also inpired S.T.A.L.K.E.R..
If I recall correctly metro devs split from stalker due to stalker lead mismanaging money (aka pocketing it)
C'mon, show them the night stuff with the nvgs. Show them the Chimeras, the X-labs, the Monolith!
yeah, late game is where things really get tense, fighting in pripyat at night against 30 monolithians with chimeras and pseudodogs all around is an incredible experience
We also need emissions! And storms, and the Great Swamp! So much awesome available.
I think they’d be really impressed with the night vision in Gamma!
This
It was all great until you install gunslinger mod and reach burers and controller side mission
Stalker Gamma is a modpack for Stalker Anomaly. And a big missed potential that you could have shown the experts was Beef's NVGs which is the nightvision goggles of Stalker Gamma, which are by far the MOST REALISTIC and REAL Nightvision Goggles in all of gaming.
I'd honestly say second. Weirdly enough kerbels nvgs are the most realistic I've seen

As a STALKER fan, I have to say there are a LOT of mods that enhance tbe quality of gameplay, there even is a multiplayer mod, although quite janky. The entire game without mods is janky actually, but that's why we slavs love it.
I am not slav but love stalker
What is the multiplayer mod called?

At this point I would say the jank is part of the enjoyment
0:30 It's a TOZ-106 survival gun, a Russian-made compact bolt-action 20-gauge shotgun. You can tell it's Russian because it has a trashy under-folding stock (possibly the lamest idea the Russians ever stole from the Germans).
1:39 S.T.A.L.K.E.R. came before either of those and some of the people who worked on it also worked on M.E.T.R.O. and "(No) Escape from Tarkov(sky)." Gamma is a mod for Anomaly which is a mod for S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat, the third of the official S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games.
5:30 In this mod, you can recruit friendly NPCs to follow you and fight alongside you, but you have to command them. Tell them to fight and they'll do so, but they might get distracted because their A.I. doesn't prioritize like a human player's brain does.
5:46 In the Zone, bloodsuckers are pretty close to vampires (or "strigoi" as they're called in Romania).
6:02 In the Zone, that mutant pig is called a "flesh." Some of us old-time zoners call them "fleshpigs" just to remind ourselves that they're pigs. If I could play as a mutant, I'd want to play as Oink Oink Fleshy Piggy! >///w///<
Edit/Note: The flesh is a pig spliced with the genes of a fly! That means it could be classified as either an "Amalgamate" (if you like Undertale/Deltarune) or a "Cronenberg" (if you like Rick & Morty and/or David Cronenberg). 🙃
Here's a fleshy piggy video just for fun: ua-cam.com/video/57yPLhqvDrA/v-deo.html
Tell me what you think of the soundbites in this one: ua-cam.com/video/cTfXtp31Jho/v-deo.html
6:10 In this mod, you can! You can eat the meat of most mutants, but you have to cook it first, and it's recommended to drink vodka and beer (liquor before beer, yer in the clear) and take antirad or other medicine after eating it because it's radioactive. You can also find or buy ready-made Zone-produced meals made by hunters. It's all classified as "unhealthy," though, but if you like to play the game survivalist style, it definitely has its own immersion factor (as if the game wasn't loaded with that already).
6:54 He's probably playing as a "loner" which is the Zone term for a generic stalker. They're actually their own faction, so they're free to be as literally "loner" or as team-oriented as they choose to be. They have no ideology and their primary goal in the Zone is to get rich or just to enjoy the thrill of Zone life. Anyway, there are two traders in that area (the map is called "Cordon" because there's a cordon/military checkpoint at the southern edge which is the southernmost area of the entire game world). One of the traders is Sidorovich, aka "Sid," who's also a mission-giver. The other is Loris, who goes to bed at 8:00 PM. In the words of Yakko Warner, "Early to rise and early to bed...makes a man healthy but socially dead."
8:15 The story of Anomaly (w/ or w/o Gamma) is set in late 2018. You can stay in the Zone long enough for the year to change over to 2019. There's no Zone-wide New Year's party, though. You can certainly have your own little Roadside Picnic, though.
11:15 S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl was the first one. "Call of Chernobyl" is a mod.
Escape From Tarkov took a lot of inspiration from the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games. This came full circle when the mods and total conversions like Anomaly with the G.A.M.M.A. modpack started to heavily borrow models, sounds and animations from Tarkov
To those new to GAMMA or Anomaly for that matter, I highly recommend playing the original trilogy first. It makes playing the latest mods so much more enjoyable as you understand the zone and lore so much better 👌
Plus, even though mechanically the games are different, the gunplay is more or less similar to how it is from the SoC and it's improved version in CoP, so getting used to how those play will definitely prepare you for how much more brutal Anomaly and Gamma can be on higher difficulties.
I'm a wiki reader, I like to just look things up as I go through the newest/best thing and usually end up taking in the whole story. I can't get into old games that I don't already have nostalgia for.
Also give Escape From Pripyat a try too! I presonally prefer EfP over GAMMA for my Anomaly modpack
@@profanegunman7586 That’s really odd.
@@profanegunman7586 Gamma is just a mod on the same engine as the original games. You can mod the original games, stalker modding has been a thing long before gamma or anomaly ever existed. The og games have actual campaigns and storylines along with the freeplay aspects that are in anomaly.
For the original trilogy I recommend using these mods;
Radiophobia 3 (harder) or OGSR Gunslinger (easier) for Shadow of chernobyl
ABR mod for Clear Sky
Gunslinger for Call of Pripyat
11:48 the real reason for the shaky hands there as someone who has played this game is cause like the true soviet patriot that you are, you're suffering from alcohol withdrawal
8:25 "Quick! Wrap a bandage around your arm to heal your leg" Every game
Would also add "You're dying!, inject this magic meds to get healthy instantly!"
This series from Operatordrewski is awesome. Oddly enough this is a Ukrainian made game with a bunch of mods. In this run he is doing what is called an Iron man run which is where when you die, it wipes your entire game and progress you have completed and have to restart from the very beginning again
Slava Ukraini
Qloud series is one of the best for STALKER GAMMA.
@@Artix902 who asked?
@@vengefulone6282 i did
drewski ruined the stalker community by bringing tacticool larpers to the community and creating a sect of new stalker fans who have never played any of the actual games and think stalker is some tactical shooter because of gamma
To answer the question of why he isn't using the guns he's picking up. In the game like they said ammo is a big factor, but another reason is that a lot of the guns you find are damaged and worn down. You can take the guns apart, clean them, sell them and even repair them to use later.
Are you sure you can sell weapons in GAMMA?
Drewski is picking up alot of weapons, but if you look at the bar under the weapon it shows its general condition at a glance. All the weapons you loot in this mod pack are in terrible shape and you need to source alot of parts and resources to return them to a condition where they're reliable. So he is very picky about what he restores based on parts and ammo availability.
The cool thing about the drugs in the game (GAMMA) is that most of them do have detrimental effects. Yeah, can't be too realistic in a game like this (too much going on and it has found its pace already), so they added elements to balance that and make it _feel_ realistic through suspension of disbelief due to the balance and immersion. Even something as simple (in concept, not the work involved - the animations themselves are anything but simple) as having the animations means you can't just spam them like in some games, and they heal over time rather than instantly (Late game stimpacks are very strong though). Then there's the limb stuff of course, which require a followup drug of some kind to make the health refills gained from a medkit or similar (on limbs) not temporary. The drugs themselves also usually either add to tiredness, or make you thirsty or hungry, all of which reduce stamina and carry weight so spamming them can leave you unable to move in the middle of the field - and certain ones make you extremely dizzy, have blurred vision, all kinds of things (usually the ones that are cheaper and heal limbs and stuff, like Yadulin).
All limb damages also have permanent (until healed) effects that worsen the more damaged they are - Legs will make you hobble and damage your main health (the body between the limbs on the UI) when you try to sprint, as well as reduce carry weight I think. Arms make your aim terrible, basically. Head will have headaches and visual spazzing, that ear ringing noise, all of that which will increase in intensity and consistency the more damaged it is, and I also think head damage will kill you if fully depleted, even if your main body health isn't zeroed out. Torso can also kill you if fully depleted, and I believe affects carry weight. There are also mutants which make you go crazy through psy damage which will cause your character to literally shoot himself, and even if you manage to kill them before this happens, your character will remain psyche damaged temporarily - and this has some cool effects I won't spoil. These effects can also be healed away with certain drugs, which have their own side effects.
Also GAMMA is all about crafting. The initial starting stages are colloquially known as the "hobo phase" (usually people's favorite phase) which is of course when you have nothing, everything you find is basically trash and you have to find pieces from other trashy things to repair your trash into something usable, all while taking missions for money to get the ammo and such to even kill stuff to loot these things. And you need toolkits (as well as respective repair kits based on the type of weapon you are trying to repair, like army or historic repair kits for certain rifles or shotguns, handgun kits for small arms including some smgs, light - heavy and exo kits for the various armors, etc.) as a prerequisite to even do this. Once attained you have to find multiple guns or armors with parts that are in good enough condition (usually above 60% though armor is more forgiving) to replace individual bits within the equipment you intend to repair and use (bolts, springs, trigger mechanisms, barrels etc for guns, and different types of fabric, kevlar plates, synthetic materials and so forth for armor), and once fixed, consistently repair their overall condition with different secondary repair kits to keep them maintained. You can also craft ammo, which is very useful because there are NATO and Warsaw guns which use their own respective ammo types (making it hard to use a looted Merc [NATO] Weapon as a Loner [Warsaw], for example), but similar enough calibers lets you break them down and remake them into whatever side you're mostly allied with once you have the toolkit to craft them. It is very rough in the start, but once you get the third tier toolkit and work into stuff like the Exoskeletons enhanced with Artifacts from the Anomalies, top tier NVG, and awesome weapons like the SVDs and so on, you are basically a walking Terminator in a zone where everything is out to kill you and is found wonting.
It's a crazy game, but man is it damn good. Especially GAMMA. It had a great foundation with Anomaly (as well as the foundations Anomaly was built on), which all did so much for the trilogy it's actually insane.
Thanks for the TED Talk, I think it’s a nice introduction guide to GAMMA ❤ ! You pretty much covered the most important aspects of the gameplay and core mechanics
@@grok_gamma Thanks to you and everyone else for the experience man! Love to see STALKER getting some more mainstream love but especially GAMMA. Drewski's GAMMA videos really do the game justice
ooo, OperatorDrewski is a damn good person to watch for Stalker...his later videos like "RAIDING THE CHERNOBYL POWER PLANT" or "1 DAY IN THE CHERNOBYL EXCLUSION ZONE" are fantastic. At a modpack, no less.
Even the NPCs complain about "not be able to see shit" in the "Golden Hour" in Stalker
Yup. That bolt-action shotgun is a "TOZ-106", 20 gauge short shotgun with folding stock and 2rnd mag. U can actually find 4 and 5 rnd mags for this boomstick, but everybody loves it because of its compact size, so
Metro was made by former devs of Stalker.
“Oh he’s not a zombie, he’s just lazy!” Lol🤣🤣
Gamology: _Does a video on GAMMA_
Me: "A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one."
Awesome to see G.A.M.M.A. covered, as for why Drewski didn't use other weapons is because of the weapons condition!
This particularly applies to this versione of the game, as the progression is based on your ability on crafting/repairing, most of those would have so many broken parts they probably would've jammed every couple shots!
also their barrels are likely completely wrecked as well, reducing their shots damage, penetration and bullet velocity.
And you'd think that'd be reflected for the enemies using it, but nope. Good ol' tedium to bloat the game.
@@brosef256 just turning off a couple of mods lets you skip the hardcore progression, so no bloat if needed.
Personally, I find it satisfying.
@@brosef256 your enemies having shit damage to reflect crappy guns would make the game easy as fuck.
your enemies giving you fully repaired guns would ruin the progression that is the whole point of GAMMA.
it's not tedium, it's the way gamma actually gives Anomaly a good progression system. You're encouraged to travel into more dangerous areas to get the stuff to repair better gear as you gear up.
@@brosef256 you can turn off like 2 mods in the pack to make dropped weapons and gear good as well as allow traders to repair things again. Some people prefer it that way, and some people find the game to be too easy and boring when you can load up an arsenal of full condition gear/weapons after clearing one squad of enemies.
Dude's not using the guns he picked up cos their durability is in the dumps, and he'd risk a malfunction during a fight. Lots of malfunctions.
The drug part is actually really right,so this guy literally shove a bunch pervitin tablets on his mouth in WW2 and he literally skie through the snow so fast for such a long time he woke up after and saw he left behind the other soldiers on his group 😂

Shout-out Operator Drewski for the sick Stalker Gamma One Life Perma Death run getting featured on here that's so cool to see since I love these videos too
1:07.. "This dude loves the shotgun, he's picked up so many weapons, refuses to switch"... Guess he doesn't understand that all the weapons are broken!! hehe.
Gameplay is from Operator Drewski if anyone wants to know, hes got a full series on stalker gamma
Stalker is way older then metro and tarkov . The mod scene is crazy and you need headphones for this game .. this game does sounds pretty well .
when you confuse who the good guy or bad guy, everytime you aim to the enemy, you will see their patches on leftside bottom of your screen, if youre getting started, bandit, renegade are the bad guys but once you go further, you need some better equipment, you will kill some other faction troop, from there, you will lose trust and every faction you have messed with will kill you
its like fallout new vegas trust system, if you helped them, you will gain trust, you can disguise by wearing their armor with their patches - this is based on this mod called Stalker Gamma
i forgot to put something here, if you choose ecologist then other faction can be neutral except monolith and bandit. You can see what faction will see you as enemy in PDA tablet
Unless you start off as a Mercenary - in which case Bandits are acquaintances and Free Stalkers think you're scum and deserve to be shot for speaking English and wanting to make money.
It got me when he started singing I ran by flock of seagulls lol great video guys and btw this is an amazing game, its completely free too so if you ever get the chance I 1000% recommend giving it a try!
It’s so nice seeing people so interested in the series
So glad to see STALKER getting some limelight. What a great Mod for a terrific trio of games.
Hey Guys! Just to give you more info, he doesn't use other guns because their equipment is too damaged. (Trigger, gas system etc.). Youd usually take these weapons and scrap them for parts to build up better guns! Hope it helps!
man, S.T.A.L.K.E.R is such a gem and so customizable, its insane.
Lovin the vids keep up the good work fellers
Some of the metro devs are ex GSC employees GSC made stalker so yes metro inspires heavily from stalker.
I would love to see more of these guys reacting to or even playing it. I'm late to the party because I didn't see it roll around until just now. It's a great modpack for a great game and you can easily go down rabbit holes for this.
to anyone wondering why he only used the TOZ on the earlier footage is because GAMMA has repair and durability system for their weapons. For the most part, the guns you'll find by some Bandits aren't gonna be the most well-kept ones (unless you're lucky) compared to the ones you'd get from Mercenary's or Duty soldiers. Additionally, you can disassemble the good parts from the shitty guns you get to form your own gun, but that requires its own thing so more likely than not you're buying your own gun
Grok just went mainstream!
STALKER is kind of different in terms of its open world design, because it's more driven by the natural functions of the world and the gameplay than the linear activities in it, so the experience itself is freeform.
Never thought I’d see the day been a fan of this game for a long time finally got a pc and been struggling in the zone but it’s amazing
During the shootout at his mansion, scarface got shot dozens of times, but he was hopped-up on so much cocaine, that he kept on going!
Im almost certain that they're watching Drewski
Commented literally seconds before a clip of him talking came up.... i gotta start waiting before commenting with my psychic skills
Glad to see this game being covered! Its pretty much the 3 stalker games in one with load of modifications on. Awesome stuff!
@gamology, there is a lot of small details that our favorite hosts not know about this particular mod of stalker like "he loves this shotgun, he picked up so many weapons but he refuses to use them". He actually cant because every weapon you initially pick up is 90% of the time is in bad condition (which represented by bar under it) and actually have condition of each individual part too, if any part is broken u cant use the gun, if barrel is damaged dmg of the gun is very low, if parts is in bad condition gun will jam like very 1-2 shots. Also no multiplayer.
Stalker actually predates both Metro and Tarkov, funnily enough
Seeing GAMMA was very unexpected, nice!
Stalker anomaly. It take survival game aspect to a new level. You can't even think it is a mod. It is better than most of the new tripple A games.
just so you guys know in early gamma you have to find a gun then find the stuff to repair or replace parts to be able to upgrade so hes stuck with the toz until that happens pretty much very very fun game loop now in the latest updates
Just to notice: medkits in Stalker is Soviet AI-2 and AI-5 (АИ, stands for Аптечка Индивидуальная) And what character uses in this medkit is most likely opium-based painkiller, trimeperidine aka промедол. And there is high chance to have allergic reaction on this, and it's most likely out of date, so yeah
At this poin even morphine could be a better option, or just the same
i hope this gets a part two wiith more focus on the survival elements and repairing the guns
Former Stalker Devs created Metro 2033 series and Nikita was influenced by STALKER when he created Tarkov. Stalker is where it all started in 2007.
Nice to see GAMMA bring to a bigger audience,
Give this game a chance you wont regret!
GAMMA, EFP, and Anomaly overshadowed the original trilogy 💀💀💀
Yeah, that's kinda what happens when the last official game is from 2009...
i mean those mods are keeping stalker alive (gamma, anomaly). the devs made a great foundation for modders to use.
By the way, every single gun he looted off a corpse is absolutely broken, its basically just metal,
he has to repair it first
Really cool that they cover Stalker Gamma
it is a shame and a pity that many people do not know the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. saga I mean the Trilogy, they only know Metro and Tarcov
It saddens me as well. Original trilogy is kinda of a dead now. Anomaly is taking all the spotlight. Ppl now view stalker in a completely different now.
I was so excited to see you guys look at my favorite game. Let alone the surprise drewski feature lol
the reason he doesn't switch guns is because all of the guns he picks up are broken/have broken parts. In gamma when you find a gun you have to repair it and find working compatible parts for it. If you pick up a gun and just start shooting it will jam a ton and be near unusable.
Stalker Anomaly is a standalone mod From Stalker Call of Pripyat, and GAMMA is a addon pack for Anomaly. This has nothing to do with Stalker 2, and Tarkov is inspired by Stalker, but at the same time there are Anomaly addons inspired by Tarkov (example is Escape from Pripyat, another addon pack)
It's best to play the game knowing nothing about it, just so the moving objects can give you a heart attack as you play with sleep deprivation.
It's really interesting to see how you perceive Stalker having not played it, you're so close on so many of your guesses for what's going on. The modded version in this video is so different to the base game but they're both totally worth playing.
I hope they will make another video about it so they can actually get in to detail
i like how your watching OperatorDrewski 's Stalker Anomaly video lol i love this one.
literally yesterday i saw the video with the navy guy reacting to no russian and favela, and he mentioned how he wanted to see a game where you had to put tourinqets and bandages on when you get shot so it was more realistic and i immediately thought of stalker gamma. you can imagine my surprise when i woke up this morning and saw this in my recommended lmao
I like how they assume it's an online game.
With STALKER you can assume anything and be technically right because there is a high chance that there is a mod for it.
Metro was made by stalker devs who left to make their own studio
First gun: TOZ-106 (Tulskiy oruzheyniy zavod or better say "Tulsk arms plant") Russian made 20ga civilian bolt action hunting shotgun. Sometimes we call it " Death of the chairman"
I know Izzy and Cameron aren't big gun guys, but one of the unique things about Stalker Anomaly/Gamma is it's deep dive into Warsaw Pact guns.
As an experienced player, I hoped the two guys would talk about the effectiveness of optics in combat. Your starting guns have awful, awful iron sights like that shotgun at 10:43. With optics in the mid to late game, it really helps you put more shots on target and increase your effectiveness at range. There's all sorts of optics too, for close range, mid range, and long range.
Also in the game and these mod packs, you can reduce your radiation by smoking tobacco and drinking alcohol. Totally false in reality, but it was something falsely informed to the workers who were exposed to the radiation of Chernobyl incident so that they would drink and smoke more to cope with the situation. I think they included that in the tv show Chernobyl too.
To answer Israel's question. I do believe a few of the developers from Metro 2033 were involved with the development of Stalker.
Yeah, a few junior devs of stalker were senior devs in metro 2033, but the biggest influence is the book metro 2033 by Dmitry Glukhovsky. Obviously the game metro is a direct retelling of the book, but the stalker games are a continuation of the idea of a post apocalyptic soviet union, that takes a lot of its ideas on how people would re-inhabit and resocialize in this new environment from Dmitry's book. If I remember correctly so,e of the factions are even named the same
@@gabriel199714 so confidently wrong.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is a retelling of roadside picnic.
Gamma is love Gamma is life
*Stalker
Love the Stalker series... even a potato spec laptop/pc can run the base game... I really wish I will be able to play Gamma mod one day... for now I only have Call Of Pripyat with Gunslinger mods... Keep uo the good work everyone...
I'd recognize that gameplay from OperatorDrewsky everywhere! That's his Ironman GAMMA series!
Little context since this is probably confusing without Drewsky's commentary:
The reason he only uses this Bolt-Action Gun the entire time is mainly because in GAMMA most weapons you find are in TERRIBLE near unusable condition and repairing a single gun to the point where it's operational and reliable can take countless hours of scavanging for parts. On top of that he plays Ironman Mode in which you can not manually save and once you die, your savegame is deleted, so using a gun in bad condition can literally end his playthrough just like that. He of course also plays extremely careful because of that.
the video from operator drewski, you can find the link in this video description
I think the thing that stuck with me and like a standout feature of the game was the insanely good enemy AI. And that was back in 2005.
That was all single player gameplay.
The buddy AI was kinda restrained due to old arse engine reasons.
Metro and Tarkov were inspired by the original Stalker series and even employ some of the devs that worked on Stalker. Anomaly is a mod combining the maps from all 3 Stalkers but on an updated engine and takes some influences and mechanics from both Tarkov and Metro.
This is not S.T.A.L.K.E.R as Tarkov, this is Tarkov as S.T.A.L.K.E.R!💙💙💛💛
The way the npcs are so tanky could be explained by them wearing high tier artifacts, you can't find those artifacts on them however.
Couple of them were Duty and the Ecologists, Duty are notorious for wearing L4 body armor and additional plates on top of that and the Ecologists were straight up using Exosuits whose base armor can stop a slug as well as 5.56 pretty effectively. That's more of a gameplay decision to rumble 2/3 of the most tanky factions in the game. If he used steelcore rounds it wouldve gone right through but nobody ever carries AP round because its stupid expensive and very situational and goes right through the shit that will kill you daily, like boars and chimeras.
Metro runs on a fork of the same engine as Stalker and also is made by former Stalker devs.
Never thought they would use Drew's video on this channel
Stalker gamma with multiplayer co-op would be the bomb
My three fav Grok's Mod pack, operatordrewski and Gamology a dream come true.
This is Drew's gameplay. I watched it last week... And now I'm watching them watch it
The reason he doesn't use the weapons he picks up is because in gamma they are not in working order yet.
What’s the name of that song that Israel was singing about running away ? It was in a video , such a good song
I think these guys would appreciate Stalker EFP a lot more, especially if the individual magazine mod is enabled. GAMMA is great, but EFP is a lot more focused on gunplay and weapon modification.
Yeah, first person I've seen mention it here.
Fairly sure both Tarkov and Metro took some inspiration from the Stalker franchise , though Gamma does take some of Tarkov's and Metro's elements back .
The mod is great ; there is no multiplayer in the modpack itself , sadly...( and I'd love to play alongside or against my friends ) the AI is "okay" as in...you have to keep in mind that the game's engine's from 2007 so no matter the improvements made by the author ( which there's lots of and are usually p good ) no real miracles can be made about it .
Ammo and armor are a major thing like in Tarkov , some stuff will be better at penetrating armor and thus deal with human enemies , other stuff such as shotgun pellets will deal lots of flesh damage and thus work better against mutants , ecc ( just keeping it simple so far ) ; the same goes for armor as in some will help you more against bullets , others vs the enviroment or mutants themselves .
The reason as to why you see the dude using the shotgun so much over everything else is because you actually need to repair and maintain gear in this game before using it , as well as obviously finding ammo....he's using an early game shotgun , it's cheap to keep in a good shape , its ammo aren't pricey...and he likely still isn't able to fix some of the cooler stuff .
But yea , check it out if you think it looks interesting , I've been definitely enjoying it , saw the modder himself here in the comment section...
It's not a bad experience by any means .
My new favorite channel!
If anyone can add insight please do. I find it interesting that the American's ROE is a 3 to 1 overmatch. The normal stats for offensive operations is a 4 to 1 casualty rate of the defenders. So does the US really expect to outtech and train that often (which I would find odd for such a pragmatic military). Or are they setting the rate lower than reality to cause a more aggressive response more often than would naturally be expected? Or something else?
KarmaKut and OperatorDrewski are the best to react to when it comes to Mil-sim
Yo they're both high as hell in this video! 😂
