I bet Mikhail Kalashnikov would have quite the smile on his face if he knew a group of individuals, Americans no less, admired his rifles so much that it drove them to devote nearly a decade to designing their own AK chambered in such a massive caliber. I can only imagine what the Kalashnikov Group guys think too. This is AWESOME!
We won the AK race the same way we won the space race. The Soviets got all the early milestones, but we still crossed the finish line first. USA USA USA
Bro just built a semiautomatic 50 cal that cycles well. Not only is that a feat in and of itself, he did it using the design of a 70+ year old gun and it runs flawlessly. Insane, congrats Brandon.
Only thing to do now, is keep improving it while leaving a copy of the V2 blueprints in a low security area, for an apocalypse survivor to find and craft at a ram shod crafting bench. And leave the V3 blueprints in a much more secured room for them to get after upgrading their lockpicking a/o hacking to find to make a decent long lasting version of the AK50.
Ian from Forgotten Weapons has said that, as lofty as it sounds, he wants to do videos on "all the guns" he can find so he can build a comprehensive, timeless archive of firearm history and engineering. Just imagine, one day Ian will do a historical and engineering breakdown of the famous AK50.
I've been in rehab for 194 days. I have often thought about how the AK-50 was doing. Tonight is my first day home and I get on UA-cam to find this... I feel like this is God's gift for completing the program. Thank you Brandon.
The credits at the beginning are just *perfect*. And I also love the way that the Deadpool theme is carried on consistently through the video. I dont care how much you overpaid the editor, they were still worth it.
5 years ago, I had a thought and decided to look up "AK-50" on UA-cam. That's when I first stumbled across your channel, when I watched the "Building the Behemoth" video. I kept the thought in the back of my mind, and left it at that. A few years later, I saw your channel pop into my feed once again. Probably was AR vs AK guys. I subscribed after watching, because that was just funny. Now...here you are. Almost 3.5 million subscribers, a congressional campaign, and a completed AK-50. All of that happened before GTA VI. Congratulations on a working AK-50. I can't wait to see where this design goes, and frankly, I'd love to see you do a full nerd breakdown of the smaller details you put in and some of the design decisions made along the way for this version.
Same here. The original AR vs AK guys video, as well as his video where he explained why the myth of AK's are inherently inaccurate came from, was what got me to subscribe. Watching the progress of this project really sparked my interest in firearms design and has me inspired to think of my own ideas that I can experiment with.
You’re telling me I could live in a country where a freshmen congressman from Texas happens to be the designer of the world’s first AK 50? I’m so proud right now. Good luck

Brandon- I remember that night at Dave's bachelor party when you decided to trust that small group of us with the "big idea" and sketched it out... you asked us if we thought you were crazy, and for feedback and we all said not at all, and to go for it... and then I watched excitedly as you told the world a few weeks later. I've been a registered gunsmith in Australia for only a few years and my favourite projects are farmers ak47 and 74 that come in after their barrels and pins were welded shut and you can tell who got a collectors license and who burried them in PVC pipe because the ones in pvc pipe are still nicely oiled. When they hear i can make it a legal rifle again their eyes light up like a adult riding in his dads childhood car. I've handled 2 50calibre rifles in my career and i got goosebumps before i even fired. @@prashanthb6521 absolutely only if it's job related e.g wild boar exterminator, government agencies and primary producers (me and certain shops with the correct licence) You need extra special permission to be allowed fully automatic and that's usually restricted to military and special police But who's to say you don't need a 20 or 30 round self loading rifle for your farm. You're allowed a 50 cal in Australia but the loopholes make it draining to own. We own more firearms now than before the amnesty program, we just don't need them for self defence. @@d0nn13m0n0 anything the government's allowed you're allowed, you just need extensive knowledge of the licenses you apply for. I'm one of 237 "permitted" concealed carry yet no matter how much googling I did 6 years ago everywhere told me it wasn't allowed, turns out it's just a PITA permit you apply for every 3 months and it essentially allows you to carry a non chambered firearm in public access and it was originally made for fairs grounds to be able to hold shooting competitions. Just wanna say that since they've already taken our firearms you never see them asking for them again lmao meanwhile anytime I see California in the news I wonder what the heck they are doing. Australia is tightly regulated but I'm glad it's that way, I'd rather a man make a killdozer than unload a full auto when push comes to shove, kill dozer takes determination and a grudge.

Yeah that follows the age-old tradition, America will always make something better so you better just stop trying now.

AK platform just built different lmfao
Man looked at the Fallout 2 Bozar Rifle and said "Lets make that into reality."
cooler than getting a noble peace prize
@@gabrielpardo4229 it looks less goofy than that thing though.
The bolt head and locking lugs are more Barrett than AK though. So the operation is AK but the lockup is not.
Lmao, make sure to add a legendary unique version that's full auto.

We need gun Jesus to bless the AK50
Super cool
I've been in rehab for 194 days. I have often thought about how the AK-50 was doing. Tonight is my first day home and I get on UA-cam to find this... I feel like this is God's gift for completing the program. Thank you Brandon.
Congratulations

And I also love the way that the Deadpool theme is carried on consistently through the video.

Diablos que momento para estar vivo lo hiciste brandon
Same here. The original AR vs AK guys video, as well as his video where he explained why the myth of AK's are inherently inaccurate came from, was what got me to subscribe. Watching the progress of this project really sparked my interest in firearms design and has me inspired to think of my own ideas that I can experiment with.
I was there when it started. This is truly historic

Bravo, Congressman Herrera, it's been emotional...
Fellow UKite here. I hope your FAC journey goes well and you get the guns you want.
This should be called the HAMR-24 named after the creator and the year, “Herrera Anti-material rifle 24’” just like the AK-47 (Kalashnikovs automatic 47’) is named after the creator and year. A fitting tribute and homage to the design and creator. Congratulations and best to you on your journey to candidacy.
I read the comments, I agree thumbs up for: HAMR-24
HAMR-24 so its two syllables like its daddy. and sounds cooler.
Since Anti-Materiel Rifles are called AMRs, I suggest the HAMR-24, the Hammer.
That would be KSVH-24 then, if followed Kalashnikov (and overall Soviet/Russian style naming) for High caliber Sniper Rifle of Herrera
This tho 100%
Or “HARD-24” Herrera Anti-material Rifle Developed - 24
I've been a registered gunsmith in Australia for only a few years and my favourite projects are farmers ak47 and 74 that come in after their barrels and pins were welded shut and you can tell who got a collectors license and who burried them in PVC pipe because the ones in pvc pipe are still nicely oiled.
When they hear i can make it a legal rifle again their eyes light up like a adult riding in his dads childhood car.
I've handled 2 50calibre rifles in my career and i got goosebumps before i even fired.
If any Australians want a custom action .38 revolvers I'm one of few makers in queensland, ill also do most modifications.
Owning assault rifles in Australia is legal ?
@@prashanthb6521 absolutely only if it's job related e.g wild boar exterminator, government agencies and primary producers (me and certain shops with the correct licence)
You need extra special permission to be allowed fully automatic and that's usually restricted to military and special police
But who's to say you don't need a 20 or 30 round self loading rifle for your farm. You're allowed a 50 cal in Australia but the loopholes make it draining to own.
We own more firearms now than before the amnesty program, we just don't need them for self defence. To us it's a hobby or work and you can usually trust people follow correct firearm safety but if they have a rusty looking barrel and they drink VB then I'm probably Gunna move a few campsites down haha
@@prashanthb6521 Assault rifles have 3 round burst or full auto. If all you have is semi auto, it isn't assault, it's just a rifle.
Working on government firearms when your neighbor can’t have one has to take a piece of your soul.
I wish I could have seen the look in your eyes, when you emptied that first mag.... well,,even you having sunglasses on, you wore the look on your whole body.... what a thrill, and what a joy to watch your 8 years for that one moment... Great Job!!! GOD Bless!
