People "burnt" the Highway code ages ago. It went 200% worse during covid times and it shows no sign of any improvement. Riding on country roads is a nightmare, most people who live in the countryside seem to drive as if there is no one else on Earth.
You get days like that, when they seem to be coming at you from all directions. No doubt the standard of driving has dropped off a cliff in recent years. Foreign drivers who either don't know our rules, or have never passed a test, people on phones, and the smell of weed coming from virtually every white van I ever follow.

Lovely video thank you. 4.15... Yes you are supposed to avoid the inner paving unless necessary (ie no other viable option hgv etc). It's trying to slow traffic down, which 2 lane roundabout don't.

The Highway code is very poorly understood by most, and if you try to point out somebody's mistake, you usually just get abuse or worse. Stay frosty out there man...
What surprises me and probably many from elsewhere in Europe outside of Britain is that parking is allowed, seemingly at random, blocking a lane on a public road. e.g. at 1:58 and 3:52 etc.

I don't ride, as a child I used to visit a relative with my mum. She (not my mum) was in a care 'hospital' and a wheelchair. Sadly, the place was full of young men, also in wheelchairs, being fed by tubes or a spoon if they were 'lucky'. I was told they'd all been in motorbike accidents. I was encouraged by my mum and 'aunt' never to get on one. But I thoroughly enjoyed watching this! I 'get it' now, but I still feel wary of riding myself. Thanks for posting. It would be good if watching something like this became a compulsory part of car/van/hgv driving tests! Also if the push- cycling proficiency test were brought back and made compulsory. When I took that, I had to prove that I'd read and understood the highway code and that reading the conditions of the road primarily took all other (only human- we all make mistakes) road users into account. It's sadly what you have to do to stay alive and be a good driver. Saying that 'speed doesn't kill but other idiots who don't follow the rules', or 'I'm a good advanced driver, it's others that cause the accidents', is pretty academic if you both end up in wheelchairs or worse. I was also encouraged to always try to think how I would feel if I came across someone else behaving, on the road, as I do. Sorry, I know that's not all pertinent to the title of this video. It's an excellent video.
