It's nice that Sigma included an Arca-swiss mount on the foot of the lens as well. Such and easy thing to add, I don't understand why more lenses don't have that feature.
I waited so long for the Sigma, but they took forever to release a DG DN version. Ultimately, I went with the Sony 70-200mm GM II and I'm impressed by it, but I would've gone for the Sigma had it existed earlier.
why? I still want to get the tamron as a hibrid shooter, because of the heavy weight difference. Both have stabilization, and you hear that not even Sigma is perfect. So...And about handheld work, I can work with a first gen canon 70-200 handheld on a A7iii. So I think all these modern stuff are more than enought for good work. Then why carrying that heavy weight of the sigma...It's just lens porn, it looks amazing people wanna buy it..
@@rolandszadai1522 I made the swap to the Sigma. Again as a sports shooter ZERO regrets. Build quality is superior far and away on the Sigma which WILL matter on the sidelines, controls are absolutely critical for me being able to quickly change close focusing and stabilization modes for example when shooting baseball/softball with a net in front of me (used those controls shooting softball today), and lastly the tripod collar is a necessity for me as I often shoot sports on a monopod and like having the tripod mounted from the lens and not the camera on longer lenses. In terms of performance between the two there is a very slight sharpness advantage on the Sigma IMO but it is slight, focus is exactly the same. Buy the lens you want, I don't care what you do personally, but thanks for the reply. I stand by my choice and 100% know it’s right for me. You go do you my friend.
If you buy the lens for service you along many years, the GMII pays for itself with the weight and focus accuracy. Well... that was my thinking a few weeks ago when I bought it 😂😂
Great footage as always, man. This is the lens that I've been waiting for. Unfortunately it's still hard for me to justify it, but a Black Friday deal will come eventually 😅😂
I have the sigma 105 f1.4 art lens and I love the hood that is the same as this lens . I know I am one of the few people that like that style of when's Hood but I know it's going to stay on there it's not going to Rattle it's not going to do nothing but stay secured. And I'm one of those photographers that always uses a lens hood. But I also have size 4 XL hands and having the zoom ring at the end compared to right next to the tripod color is going to be more convenient for me than most people. I just sold my Tamron 35 - 150 to get this. And I am looking forward to see how good the stabilization is and how it does taking some Motocross and dirt bike Woods racing photos. I probably could have sworn giving the Sony gm2 by I had to have the new M4 iPad Pro 13 with 1tb lol.
I used to have the sigma 70-200 but eventually returned it and got the GM for 2300€. It's lighter, faster, sharper, zoom ring is super light, the front cover doesn't overlaps the zoomring, etc. From the 60pictures with the sigma I could only use 26 pictures. All the others was out of focus. Now with the sony I get from the 60 shots, 54 perfect shots and need to throw 6 away. Also, sigma on sony body will give you 15shots in burst mode and sony will give you 30. It costs more, but will give you more aswell. Eventho I love sigma, but there's a big difference. If it's for portraits ... I would go for sigma (for the price)
@@SidneyDiongzon well, that’s what’ I’m saying. I returned my sigma and bought the Sony GM ii. But if you’re into portraits, for the price… the sigma is a good choice. But overall the GM ii will over class the sigma lens. The only thing where the sigma wins, are the clicks when you turn the lens vertically.
Jumping stabilization in video :( Even the worst stabilization in sony lenses is better than best stabe with jumping effect. Shame that sony cripple stabilization in 3rd party lenses.
If you're looking for a budget-friendly F2.8 telephoto zoom lens, definitely check out the Sigma 70-200mm DG DN Sport lens: geni.us/32Rfa45

You can still sell the gm ii and buy the sigma 70-200 and have a couple of hundreds back in your wallet
@@RCGJR_ true, but then I don’t have the GM. 😉 I’ll keep it probably forever, it’s a great lens.
Man I just bought the Tamron 70-180 G2, but as a hybrid sports shooter this looks like a better option for me. Glad I’m in my return window.

the 200mm handheld stabilization is woah
Thanks man. I am thinking the 35- 150 tamron versatile
Had to get the Sony GM II. I’m on a a1 and I shoot sports. Wanted the 30fps shooting. Was about to buy the sigma before I learned it would only do 15.

I do prefer the Sony 70-200mm GM II, but it's really hard to beat the price of the Sigma lens!

The “whatever big spender” line 😂
Bahahah I'm a goofball
Sidney, do you have any videos on street photography? If not What lens would you recommend for that?
I sure do! Here's one of my favorites: ua-cam.com/video/euew8fY-yDM/v-deo.htmlsi=E0Tb1A0Zt6mVkfrn
@@SidneyDiongzon thanks for your quick response. For outdoor portraits do you set your wb to custom or one of the autos the sonys have?
Literally when I shoot my Vlog with my nephew and niece and lil cousin, this lens is so good. Haha thanks I need that
Dude, your kids are getting so biggggggg
Crazy cool how you've included them here on YT over the years.
Time flying by way too fast 😭
Any vinetting?
Nope
Ya I still want that Sony 70-200 but the sigma looks nice lol 😂 great video!
Haha hopefully you get that lens one day!

This should be an easy answer. The Sony GM2 is (slightly) better, but the sigma is much better value for the money
Yep! Money decides everything haha
Buy one, cry one...
On today’s inflation, i think all our wallet screams for the sigma 70-200 or the tamron 70-180 (if you don’t already own the sony gm ii
