- Sgt. Maj. Vincent Santiago, the Sgt. Maj. for 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, based in Okinawa, Japan, recounts a story of his grandmother, September 16, 2016. Santiago, a Guam native, tells how his family was liberated during World War II by 3rd MarDiv. Because of this, 3rd MarDiv has played a significant and profound role in Santiago’s life.
Sergeant Major is a testament to a living legacy, not just the Corps but of a loving, strong family and service.🇺🇸💪🙏
I had the increadible privilege to be with his son, my senior drill instructor. The cycle I was in, June 17 - September 13, was his last as a drill instructor. He showed us this video before final drill, and it got me wondering how things would be different if the US didn't liberate Guam. I am incredibly honored to know another Marine with a rich family history such as this. Best of luck to you in your future Ssgt Vincent R. Santiago. God bless and Semper Fidelis.

So like 4 days late but i dont think you should post you're ship date. Or i heard that the military recomended you dont post the ship date anywhere. But i might be wrong.

I lost both parents when I was young and could have chosen a bad life style, but I preferred to stay the course and become a Marine and it was the greatest thing I could have ever done. Long live our great Corps and its traditions.

Wow.
How a rainy day almost killed my dad 1992 he had just returned from operation desert storm and shield he was a sergeant in the 2nd tank battalion and doing a live fire night exercise when they were done they piled into the transport truck and my day was lucky to get into shotgun and the truck toppled and threw my dad out of the window and was crushed but survived i dont remember how many died but a few marines in the back died and my dad was honorably discharged from the marines.
