I know it's old video, but... The original HBX Dev wheels are also great for crawling if you spend some time to fix them. First you need to narrowing the rims. Totally remove middle section so u end up with 2 plastic beadlock inner rings. Glue'em together. Now tires, take nail clippers and create some spicy tread. It takes a lot of time and patience. Then put ur new tires on narrower rim. Now wheel is 'pneumatic', diameter is a little bigger and you end up with soooo great wheel, even better than CR18 you use. I can send you more details if you still interested to try it. ✌

Loving it! I put rc4wd scrambler tyres on devastator rims, even taller tyres and it is sooo much better. I found adding weight to front wheels helped and you had that with the water, it didn't lift a tyre up that ramp, probably due to water weight.
@@SergeyPRKL it took nearly 2 months for the store I use in UK to get x2 pairs (about a month per pair). All other online stores in Europe were either out of stock or only had one pair. But compared to stock it wad night and day, worth the wait, totally different experience
I was looking up those scrambler tires and it said they fit wheels that are 1.54 inches. I need to know if this is correct because I seen rock crusher wheels that fit 1 inch rims.
What is the overall height on those tires I’ve been waiting for my devastator to come in (coming from China lol) but if/when it ever shows up I want to get upgraded tires since that’s one of the limiting factors
Nice video 😊👌 thank you for sharing👍just wondering....... would you happen to know the wheelbase of the HBX devastator? I'm looking for something in the 100mm area? Or would you happen to know of a 1/24 crawler that does have very close to 100mm? Thanks dude😊👌
Hey, tires are really important on our real cars too. I always try to get the best compromise of wet and dry grip and speed rating for my money on my daily driver. You have to decide what you really want your car to do just like these little guys. I had H rated super soft street tires on my Dart years ago and they were awesome. Super road grip wet or dry and never got hot on the freeway. Problem was they barely lasted 20k and were shot. I went to more non Ricky racer tires and they lasted a lot longer. I got normal 80k Michelin tires on my Neon I drive and surprisingly they handle and grip very well. I used to beat up the tires on the huge Toyota 4x4 truck from Radio Shack back in the stone ages and I replaced them once when I was actively playing with it.
I love it with this change of tyres, more grip to crawler, mine will be better. I ´m following you to do my personal projects. Thank you, thank you for share.
I got that rc for 3-4 years now with no issue at all. Very durable and have no issue unless the battery die in few weeks ago. The internal gears all metal just need replace the stock tire cause have no grip at all 😅
Wow! What a difference that made - partly the increased clearance, mainly the increased grip. I´m now darting suspicious glances at the tyres on my own crawler as it sits innocently on its shelf...
@@TomleyRC I look forward to seeing them, and all the more so now that you´ve built a sort of standardised vehicle assessment course to try them on after making each change.
