Went to Voyageurs the first week of July this year and checked beforehand for an America's Parks video and was surprised there wasn't one. We stayed on land and hiked. Enjoyed seeing the park again virtually with your family. We were warned many times about how bad the mosquitos and flies would be but almost non-existent while we were there. Too bad the weather prevented your island campout but you made the right choice, safety first. Thanks for all the great videos.

Great comment, Brad! Happy to hear you enjoyed this great park as well! Same here - horror stories of the mosquitoes, but virtually none the entire trip. Folks said it was due to the drought. Take care!

Because earlier this summer I was at Pictured Rocks and hiked to Chapel Beach, and did enter Lake Superior.... the lake temps in that lake are no joke. I am pretty sure that water there at Voyagers flows in or out of Superior and is likely simular temps. I think the lake temps there are like in the 30s for sure.

Wow, what wonderful weather you got the next day! Yes, once you get past the initial shock it can be quite refreshing diving in...I've gone swimming on canoe trips in the Boundary Waters lakes, which are east (and about 40 miles south of there)...beautiful lakes!

Nice video and glad you made it up to this park. I am guessing you made it to Isle Royale as well which will complete the Lower 48 parks for you. Awesome accomplishment. Very wise choice in waiting until morning. Canoeing in wind is exhausting but that sunrise sure reinforced your decision. That was gorgeous and so was the campsite.
Voyageurs looks very beautiful and so pristine. I know you can rent houseboats to explore this park. If and when it becomes time for us to travel here, I may look into that option. Tough park to explore if you don’t get out on the water.

Chris_132, there are so many like that, as well as some that aren't parks, such as national monuments, or places like Garden of the Gods, which is a mere city park in CO Springs, and Multnomah Falls, which is, I believe, owned by Portland, OR, plus sooo many state parks. God has blessed this country with far more than our share of jawdropping scenery.
