    1. Phone holster - even though my phone is smallish, I'm glad it's not in my pocket.
    2. Mechanical watch - someone else mentioned a watch so they're not always looking at their phone. I echo that sentiment and go one step further with being automatic so it doesn't need a battery.
    3. Durable clothing - along the lines of your boots, improving my wardrobe and moving away from fast-fashion as much as possible.
    4. Bicycle - I hadn't ridden a bike as an adult, but getting one for riding to work when my schedule and the weather allows has helped with my physical fitness.
    5. E-reader - my one surrender to tech on this list. I despise smartwatches and a dependency on cell phones, social media, electronic payments, etc, but I'm an expat and getting well-written books while living overseas would involve more packages criss-crossing the globe. Very happy with my Kobo in that regard.
    Great video! I like that it was so relatable to everyone out there: male/female, blue collar/white collar (I interpret "boots" as "footwear in general"), American/non-American, etc. Keep 'em comin'!

    I always tell people the best thing to do to improve your life is put a good speaker in the bathroom. Showering, getting ready, pooping, or whatever while listening to good music will change your life. It will improve your morning mood or even help you wind down at night.

      How does that work? Serious questions. Do you wipe first? Is it only cold water? (Even if there were a hot water option, I would imagine it would be pointless, as the water would have to run quite awhile before hot water would reach the bidet, just like at any sink?) Is there soap involved? After the bidet's use, what do you use to dry? Just toilet paper? The water streams from the back, right? Is there overspray/stream? Out the front? Is there backspray that causes the nozzle area to get messy? How often does the nozzle area and/or the bidet itself require cleaning? More or less often than a typical toilet cleaning would be required? TIA.

    • @minnybiker4505
      @minnybiker4505 3 місяці тому +5

      @@Q.Q. all good questions. you can get a bidet seat that you install on your current toilet, hooks up to the same water source as the toilet. Basic ones are cold water. You can get electric ones with warm water, heated seat, etc. No wipe before... Hose ’er down, then use tp to wipe dry. A good analogy I once saw... If you go muddin', do you wipe the truck clean with dry towels or do you hose it off and then wipe it dry? Or... If you get poop on your hand, do you just grab a paper towel and call it good, or do you head straight for the sink? No soap involved... It's good to inspect the wand after each use and if it gets soiled, wipe it off quick with a bit of tp. Some fancy ones are self cleaning, but still need to be touched up now and then. There are some decent cheap ones you can test out. But you'll likely love it and want to upgrade eventually. I've not met one person yet who regretted getting one. Everyone is blown away that they didn't know about/do it sooner. Good luck!

    I think we can describe today's hat toss as being 'close enough'! One thing I agree 100% with is buying quality footwear. Whether you're a blue collar tradesman, firefighter, EMT, a cop or in the military, wearing quality footwear is vital. Years down the line your feet, hips and back will thank you for it. Get some good quality wool socks to go with your good quality boots and you'll be able to go anywhere in comfort.

    Mattress and Pillow are so important; never go cheap on those. You spend 6 to 8 hours sleeping. The second which I learnt is boots. Always on your feet; I have back problems, so good boots are necessary. Third Watch. It's a good, durable watch. Fourth, A good wallet/Key organizer. Just makes life easier. Never losing keys, worrying of it falling apart and a good wallet that holds everything and will last years.
    This is my opinion. What do you guys think?

    Three things recently are a good watch, good speaker and good boots. For years and years I’ve been wearing an Apple Watch, 4 in the past 8 years, That’s a lot of money. Back in May I started wearing a $500 Seiko and it just feels (and looks) so much better. For speakers I’ve found you can’t beat Soundcore for the money. And finally boots. I’ve been wearing Redwings and Thursday boots for a few years but I just recently got a pair of Jim Green African Rangers and let me tell you that they are the most comfortable pair of boots I’ve ever owned. So much so that I’ve special ordered two more customized pairs. Carl thanks for your videos on Jim Green, awesome boots and an awesome company.

    I've been a happy Factor subcriber for over a year. I'm also an electrician. During the summer, I can put a Factor meal on my dashboard at the beginning of my shift (having poked some holes in the film) and by lunchtime it's properly cooked by the sun. I still don't have a solution for the colder months-maybe I need to put a small microwave and a portable power bank in my car.

      Ever tried a HotLogic? We use them on the railroad to heat up meals since most engines don’t have a microwave. It’s a portable hot plate basically. The variation we all use is for a power outlet. Most vehicle nowadays have an outlet but maybe there’s other plug options if you don’t have one in the work vehicle

    I still use my JBL Charge 3 bought in 2016. I had to replace the battery myself at the beginning of this year, the battery only cost €15 with shipping. I hope it survives for at least 4 more years, but a great product for sure. And with living in the Netherlands I always carry an umbrella, small and compact in my bag wherever I go, and the other things are my bikes. I have a mountain bike, an e-bike, a regular bike,, and an old bike that was my father's old bike that I used for traveling to the train station and placing it in a bike rack. As a dutchman, you can never have enough bikes. It's cycling Walhalla over here. In my household of 3 we have 15 bikes 😅

I'm 60 and I'm 32 year into my MTB experience and having used my friends E mtb I find the reliance on bikes questionable.
