Those are nice looking slices! Even the sauce seemed to have been carefully and artfully applied to the pizza.
I will ask for extra sauce next time, it was so good.
Great job Antonio. Did you ever go to Mounties on Carroll Street it was just before the Gowanus on the left side of the street. Awesome food. And there was Two Tom’s on 3ave and Union st. Also awesome food. Unfortunately I don’t think they are there anymore. That was back in the day. You were probably very young. Thank you 🙏 😊
Montes. Been there for many, many years
Probably, I was growing up in Bensonhurst since 77'
Fermented dough also has a lower glycemic index as well as it's easier to digest!
Oh for sure.
I think I might actually like electric ovens more than coal fired ovens. The modern electric pizza ovens can have better accuracy of specific heat zones so that can be a great advantage
Yes, they're very versatile. You can make any style of pizza with them.
The old school pizza seems to tug at my heart the most. Had a Pepperoni slice at Margherita and it was magic. Made me forget where I was when eating it. Amore in Flushing does the same.
I reviewed Amore. I gave it a good score but I felt it was overrated. People worship that pizza.
@@pizzareviewsonthego Margherita is even better. People worship Amore because it's a branch of an old Flushing pizzeria known as Glorias. Glorias closed in the late 1990s and Amore was what was left. Lucia is also a branch of Glorias but Amore was basically the identitical recipe.
This pizza looks really!
Jesus , i can smell it through my phone while watching this 😅
Just on looks...I could tell this one was a winner
My wife always wants to eat outside and I always want to eat pizza. Perfect match. This just might be the spot!
Freakin Fabulous!
I can see why you're such a good judge of quality pizza.......As for myself, drown my slice in sauce and cheese and every topping available and if I need a fork and knife to eat it, so be it......I can put up with somewhat less quality cheese and crust, but the sauce has to be that genuine flavor that you would find In those pizzerias with top ratings......Oh !....... I almost forgot that frosted glass of beer that
seems to be like they were made for eachother......Good post again Antonio......
Indeed, no such thing as bad pizza. I'll do toppings once in a while as long as it's not too much. Love clam pies too. Thanks Norman.
@3:12 I went a little lower. But had an end of the night slice. We basically agree. I almost felt F&F is a modernized Sam's.
Don't know if you followed up going to Sam's down the block. But I have some thoughts on Sam's:
Sam's is maybe the coal oven spot (gas fired today) closest to a modern New York pizza, even above John's. And I say that as someone who like John's of Bleecker better.
I plan to try Sam's. I almost went there instead of F&F.
Nice!
Good review my brother! Be so blessed!!! ✌️❤️
Thanks Rocco. Appreciate it. Nice hearing from ya.
DP viewed Oct 10 2019 I couldn't watch it , great slice burn my butt !
Another great looking pizza. I like that crust. The toppings look so good. Cheers, Antonio! 👍🏻👍🏻✌️
Thanks for watching. Cheers Dwayne.
Really good looking for a slice place. So many good pizzerias are whole pie. Love a really good place that will just sell me 2 slices. Otherwise I'll eat the whole thing myself.
NY pizzerias got popular due to being slice shops. Nothing wrong with it. And yeah, I could have had 2 of those pies! lol
Hi Antonio,
Thanks for your review of F&F Pizza. The pie looks great and I am pretty sure that if I die and go to Heaven, I’ll end up in Brooklyn!
Have a great weekend,
Peter
Thanks Peter. To you as well!
That slice looked right up my alley!
Definitely will be visiting
Try out "The Oven's Slice" in the Lower East Side! It's a new spot and its pretty good.
Thanks for the recommendation.
Looks outstanding. Reminds me a lot of a pie from Mama's Too, but with a slightly smaller corniccione and without all the fresh basil. Another electric oven for the win. I'd say it's pretty reminiscent of a Neapolian pizza, too, with the way it droops in the middle a bit and has that leoparding that looks like it came from a wood fired oven. I'm surprised that place doesn't have a bigger reputation outside NYC yet , but I'm sure that will change.
DP reviewed this place but I don't see the video anymore, not anywhere. I recall he gave them a very good score. I think this pizzeria is highly regarded by locals, but yeah, it's not really internationally known. It should be. It was a little too thin for me, except for the back part of the pizza. Would have liked some shards of hard cheese and some basil and this thing would have been in the 9's.
@@pizzareviewsonthego yeah I did notice the lack of hard cheese or basil, which I thought was a little odd. But I guess they’re going for more of a traditional New York style pizza build, or something. Now that you mention it, does seem to me that I remember seeing the name of the place in one of DP’s reviews, but I don’t really remember watching it. Weird that it would just disappear like that.
Good looking pizza. Those pizza master ovens are fantastic.
Yes, they're very versatile.
We dont have any Pizza like that near here. Makes me wanna cry. Did you curse in Italian? Take care big guy here comes summer.
Not not really, not a curse. I hear ya Jimmy. Still dealing with some health issues, the heat doesn't help with the blood pressure. Thanks.
Gorgeous pie.🍕
Looks like a hybrid of Neapolitan and NY. Carroll Gardens, how does it compare to Lucali's
Lucali is way different. Crust is so light, he uses a combo of fresh mozzarella, globs of Bufala mozzarella and shards of parmigiano. He puts an entire bushel of basil 🌿 on the side in case you want it. F&F is definitely up there, but it’s more of an artisanal NY style. Lucali is the hybrid.
Looks a bit like New Park Pizza. Looks delicious.
Yes, it does look a bit like New Park. Less cheese though and slightly airier.
When are you coming to Pittsburgh?
Maybe one day...
Looks great the pizza reminds me of nuccis south a lil bit when they first opened hopefully it's not as salty.
Not salty.
looks exactly like DiLorenzo's pies in Jersey sauce on top of cheese ..Also Pappa's ..Trenton pie
In a sense yes, I reviewed both of those Robbinsville pizzas on the same day.
Yeah, I need to visit Trenton for the pizza. The crazy thing is I used to drive through Trenton all the time back in the old days but never actually stopped to check out the food
Accidentally clicked this thinking it was Dave portnoy
I would hate 😒 😑 😐 🙄 to pay their ELECTRIC BILLS. GREAT 👍 LOOKING 🍕 🍕 PIZZA.
Always down for a good pizza .
@2:34 You should always word your vulgar remarks in Italian just to avoid the censors.
Oh it wasn't anything too vulgar. There' alot worse on UA-cam
Looks like sourdough.
First!
