If I could get some fencing up I could take in some equine refugees but having trouble finding help. If you have any suggestions I am open
I think most immediately, your state would have relief programs set up. You could probably search online for “hurricane relief efforts near me”, and see what comes up. My pleasure! And absolutely private grants are worth the effort. I work with both on a daily basis. Government grants are tied to the goals of elected officials. Private grants are tied to the funders' personal goals to see something change in culture. I regularly write both a government grant and a private grant for the same program (they just have to pay for different parts of it).
Thank you for all the information you provided. I’m starting my therapy private practice. I service minorities, and offer services in Spanish which is hard to find in my state. I would love to offer parenting psycho education groups. My question is as a for profit private practice can I apply for grants to offer this service free of cost or at a low cost to underserved individuals.
That's a good question. I'm operating on the assumption that, because you operate as a for-profit, grant funders would ask you instead to serve such clients via Medicaid or other state-supported voucher/insurance-related program. You could contact your state's department of health, in case there are some funding or programmatic initiatives specific to your region that might be helpful.
@ thank you for your response. That’s what I was thinking as well. I had someone suggest that I partner with a nonprofit. They can apply for the grant & manager everything related to it, provide the space and the clients . I would be contracted by the nonprofit to deliver the service.
That's a good suggestion, but one thing to caution is to not force the partnership just to go after the cash. There is a question in every grant proposal about how the program is sustained after the grant period ends (funders don't want to support temporary projects in most cases), so if the partnership can last in some fashion with more than those grant funds, then there is a good case. The grant could be renewed the next year, and/or other funders might be interested. It's quite a process! At any rate, it sounds like there is a good foundation, so working on the logistics of sustainability of the partnership could go a long way for grant support.
I did a little checking, and see that sometimes the parent company offers financing, and there are loans available. Grants can come into play if you are bringing a business to a disadvantaged community, or some other kind of extra community benefit.
Most grants don't require a deposit, but you bring up a good point. It seems that fees are happening more often. I'm going to explore that more deeply and make it part of some upcoming videos.
Glad you're here! I mentioned the findhelp.org website in this video, and here's a complete walkthrough of how to use it. Free to search, based on your zip code, ua-cam.com/video/Vf8NDBQRKwE/v-deo.html

H! I'm new here and i found your content so valuable,. Anything in Miami for startups? i been looking one is a metal (pergola, Fences) an another one is Juice business both in the beginning of their journeys
Thanks for watching! I googled "Miami Florida economic development", and got poweringflorida.com and miamidda.com. See anything with those websites that can help?
I am new subscriber i just came across your videos, so much information. I just started looking into non profit and wanting to create my own and make that my job but dont have experience in non profits. What is a piece of advice you would give but looking to start a non profit and what can be a pitfall of looking to start a non profit. Again great content! keep them coming.
Thanks for subscribing! I focus on grants, and there is another channel that talks all about starting nonprofits. I’ve watched a few videos, and they look helpful. youtube.com/@ambermelaniesmith?si=zd3puILhZH8ye4j7
It's a bit technical, but the federal government doesn't give grants to individuals to buy a home. There are local agencies that can connect you to resources to help you finance a home, and you can use findhelp.org to find them. This is Amazing information, and would like to THANK YOU for taking the time and making this video. I am wanting to go back to school, and start a business as a Mexican American 34 year old man who’s been previously incarcerated. I know nothing about the HOW I will accomplish this, all I know is that I will. The 4 websites you spoke about is where I’ll start. Would like to go back to school to get a career in I.T. and eventually own a recovery center. So is true what u spoke of as far as people in my community wanting to help. I want to help, I just don’t have the resources to do so, yet. If you can think of ANY other resources I can tap into and/or Help, advice, services and are willing to share with me, I’ll be evermore appreciative of you. Either way, this information you’ve already shared here, is Gold to me. I’ll be sure to pass it along to other like me who are looking to better their own life’s.
I think starting with a mentor would help put your plans into place. The free mentorship program for small business that I mention in this video could be a good start (not a sponsorship; I'm just familiar with it as a resource), at score.org.
I appreciate the specifics! I would say get to know the people in your field, other people working in greenhouses and fisheries to learn more about resources closest to you. I also found two links that might have helpful resources: (1) There is a Veterans Business Program at www.nysbdc.org/veterans.aspx; and (2) NY State prioritizes veteran-owned businesses for contracts. Info at tinyurl.com/ynuhj75v
I am looking for a way to start a non profit to help recovering addicts and the disabled find transportation to jobs, meetings, treatment, food banks, the store (for groceries, for example), and other places that they may otherwise be limited to regarding funds or resources. It is difficult to find that kind of help when you are making every effort to get on track in life. To have a job but rides fall through. The judge has ordered you to 2-3 meetings a week and the nearest meeting hall is in another town. The disabled person has medicare and transportation to have meds delivered but nothing to take them to get groceries or have them delivered, they're insurance or other resources are limited or don't accommodate them to be self sufficient in supporting themselves in these ways. Would the EDA be able to help fund a non profit such as this? Would that be something i should consider discussing with United Way? Or do you have other videos i could watch to continue my search regarding this idea?
I have a playlist of grants for nonprofits at ua-cam.com/play/PLqcBLkKVDijTg-9N1_F29wE0Gt-0izJgz.html There is another UA-cam channel that discusses starting nonprofits. She doesn't know me, but I think her advice is good, www.youtube.com/@AmberMelanieSmith Also, you coud talk with your local United Way, as you suggest. Also your nearest community foundation. Both of them would have nonprofit development programs, and you can also get connected in your community.
I wonder if any of the places you recommend is available for multilevel marketing like Amway or Mary Kay. Many of them struggle starting off, so a grant to help pay some of these schemes' peripheral sites*, or fees, or "starter kits" will do wonders, even if just the 1st 6 months. *= few know that Amway has started their own internal social media app that cost over 100/month.
I don't think so. Most small business grants require participation in their own coaching programs for a period of time before grant dollars are made available. That doesn't seem to match with the timing for someone getting started in mlm.
Try the findhelp.org website that I mention in this video. It's free to use, and and finds a lot of resources near you, based on your zip code, including funding for education. I do a complete walkthrough of how to use it in this one: ua-cam.com/video/Vf8NDBQRKwE/v-deo.html You could also see what kind of scholarships are offered by the school offering the degree.
Some are designated as a subset of 501 that makes them ineligible. Or grassroots organizations are named that because they don’t have an IRS designation yet.
Thank you! Like I noted in the video, meet with a rep from your nearest community foundation (locator linked in the description). Their staff have lots of helpful information. I also did a quick google search for "florida grants for fish and wildlife"; the top 3 results were fishfloridatag.org/grant-program/; myfwc.com (type "grants" in the search box); and wildlifeflorida.org/conservation-grants/.
I always advise starting as close to your service territory as possible. I've used these three links in videos (and your comment has given me an idea for another one!): (1) your nearest econ dev't agency might have grant dollars, find them at www.eda.gov/economic-development-directory; (2) your nearest small biz devt ctr will have biz growth training and maybe some grants, find yours at americassbdc.org/; (3) free biz mentoring from retired execs, www.score.org/
Check with your state or local economic development agency (a government office). Each state has its own goals to see businesses grow, and of course healthcare is important everywhere! They might have grants available, especially for businesses owned by women, minority business owners, and veterans.
I have a question I'm on government assistance and work part-time I'm also applying to go to college but I need work on my car is there anything that will help you with car repairs???
I am on SSI and can't work as I am taking care of my disabled brother. My food stamps went up by $3 lol. I want to start a home biz and send my dog for service training but I don't know what to do or how to apply for grants?
I have a couple of websites that I hope can give some direction. For your dog's service training, I'm familiar with an organization called Medical Mutts (not a promotion; I'm vaguely familiar with it). For your small business, I would recommend a deep read through of this website, then connect to get a free mentor, score.org.
So, if one is a Male, White, Boomer...looking to create a business in a different industry other than a prior career. Is that person eligible (truly) for any programs? With that asked....very professional video and delivery.
Thanks for the kind words about the video. Regardless of who you are, grant funders for small business want good business and marketing plans. And there are great, free mentors for anyone at score.org (not a promotion; I know people who consult through SCORE, and they're true professionals).
I am looking for grants to help with purchase of farm land and start a business selling value added agricultural product in Pennsylvania. Can you send me some links where I should start looking?
There might be services near you that can answer that question. Try the website findhelp.org, which I showed how to use in this video (not a promotion; I'm just impressed with the level of information available for free): ua-cam.com/video/Vf8NDBQRKwE/v-deo.html
Thank you for this information. Would like to find a source for a very deserving family member on disability, has tried local agencies, needs a full mouth of dental work. Local agencies only do a tooth at a time & this person needs major help. Person is disabled and can't do a regular job but volunteers expertise and experience for community whenever possible.
My prior video was a walkthrough of a new website that can connect this family member to multiple care agencies, based on zip code. Maybe there is another agency that can help? The BEST Way to Get Local Support When You’re in Need ua-cam.com/video/Vf8NDBQRKwE/v-deo.html
My brother owns a small furniture refinishing business. Due to the economy, he is struggling, any advice, assistance or free grants would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Maybe some assistance for personal needs would help, to reduce the cost of living? Try the findhelp.org website mentioned in the video. Grants for small business would take a long time, so I don't know if they would be a match, if I'm reading your question correctly.
Nobody is ever going to give me money without working for it. I've tried. :( I filled out alot and was pretty excited thinking at least one has to hit right? Nope. I don't get how they decide who gets it and who doesn't but I should've known with my horrid luck.
Grants have so much hype, but so few are awarded. Grant funders make their awards based on which applications are the closest match to their own goals, and honestly, the least risk. But actually, your question has inspired a video idea. Look for a short coming soon to more fully address your frustration, because it is real!
Yeah, you’re actually looking more for local agencies and nonprofits that provide low-cost or no-cost home repair services. I talk about that in this video on home repair support. Home Repairs: 3 FREE Ways to Get Help 🏡 ua-cam.com/video/TKntVLJLUsU/v-deo.html
@@grantchatter are you just messing with me? did you read the 1st message! you said Google "grants for home repairs in YOUR TOWN" when I did that no grants came up just contractors who want to be paid.
The median income is hard to find in your area let alone 80 percent or 200 percent of median income. Then one doesn't know if gross income, net income, or household income. Most seniors are not internet savey to apply. Some fall outside the eligible income. Others are in tough financial situations with medical bills, dental bills, being behind on other bills even though they have a few dollars home repairs are not in their reach. Repair people charge the I don't want to do it price. Often they are expensive. Or worse you pay someone and you still have a problem. And homes are unsafe, then unlivable. Electrical safety issues, new rooves, needing heat, electric, gas, car repairs and expensive hearing aides, cataract surgery or expensive hearing aides. It's difficult these days. My heart breaks for all the people I know in dire need that cannot get any help. That really needs help. Some just need affordable help.-Johns wife
@grantchatter I have been searching for help for my neighbors for years. Your videos are very helpful. Unfortunately after the Cola increase alot of them are just outside the income for help. And some are not 65 yet. Although some programs are 60 or 62... my one neighbor is in her 90's. Her husband served in the war. Her house burned down and not enough insurance to rebuild in todays prices to replace. Red cross helped her get a hotel room. Unfortunately she had no help so she's forced to live in a nursing home. Heartbreaking for her and her family. She still made 7 pies every year for the holidays. I could tell you story after story. Its difficult these days for some in a tough spot to survive. Another lady lost her husband, her roof leaked, she didn't have the money to fix it. It collapsed and she now stays with any family that will have her staying with one here, another on there. on n on.-John's wife
The very people that have been financially responsible all their lives and have paid taxes, property taxes, school taxes, when they need help, there is no help. It's a shame. Those that can work, those that can't fall on very hard times. They deserve better. Good there is help for people, but those that fall even $1 out of the eligibility are asked to go back to work after retired, get a second or third job. Buy inexpensive food, skip meals, utilities, live in the dark, turn down the heat, ration their medicines, live with leaks, mold, flickering lights, broken windows, plumbing that doesn't work, they can't afford to fix their cars, get new tires, brakes, ect.-John's wife
There ought to be a page of eligibility on the first page of the programs. With a link to income exceptions. A sheet to say the process and telephone number to get help filling application out. Or an address to set up an appointment with a list of what to bring to get help filling them out. Posted at churches and senior centers ect.-John's wife

Thanks for the info! 🙌 But, what do you think about private grants compared to government ones? Are they really worth it? 💰🤷♂
My pleasure! And absolutely private grants are worth the effort. I work with both on a daily basis. Government grants are tied to the goals of elected officials.
Do you provide information on how to get a grant for a franchise?
I did a little checking, and see that sometimes the parent company offers financing, and there are loans available. Grants can come into play if you are bringing a business to a disadvantaged community, or some other kind of extra community benefit.
Can I get website for the grants that you do not have to pay deposit
Most grants don't require a deposit, but you bring up a good point. It seems that fees are happening more often. I'm going to explore that more deeply and make it part of some upcoming videos.
I didn’t see any links
They are below were it's the description of that video click on "more" and you'll see it I saw it✌️
Hello, i am new here. So happy i found you! I need a roof bad. Where do i go for a grant and help? Thank you
Glad you're here! I mentioned the findhelp.org website in this video, and here's a complete walkthrough of how to use it. Free to search, based on your zip code, ua-cam.com/video/Vf8NDBQRKwE/v-deo.html

Do you have information on the opportunity in Indiana
Any particular opportunity you're looking for?
@@grantchatter home repair
I referred briefly in this video to findhelp.org, which lists all the local help available in your area (free to use). Home repair is included. I did a complete walkthrough of how to use that website at ua-cam.com/video/Vf8NDBQRKwE/v-deo.html
Very hard where I live I live in a very very rural community. I believe it's the smallest county per people in California Modoc.

See anything with those websites that can help?
thank you.
You're welcome!
Has anyone who watched this video actually gotten a grant?
Good question! It’s hard to work on that first one and win it! Good luck, everyone!
No. Not in over 30 years of applying. Getting a grant is like winning the powerball, not likely to happen.
Grants are much more common than you think. I work in healthcare and we get patients grants all the time for medications and care.
Are there grants for repairs in an apartment? If so what the limits.?😊
Ooh, that could be tough, assuming the apartment complex owns the space. I’m not sure I have a ready answer for that. Sorry about that.
How do I get a federal grant so I can buy a house of my own
It's a bit technical, but the federal government doesn't give grants to individuals to buy a home. There are local agencies that can connect you to resources to help you finance a home, and you can use findhelp.org to find them. I did a complete walkthrough of how to use that website at ua-cam.com/video/Vf8NDBQRKwE/v-deo.html
Were do I look for a grant for a startup small bussines green house and live stock fishery in updtate new york as a senior citizen veteran?
Vet, Minority, trying to start one.
I just posted a video for veterans. I hope it will help! ua-cam.com/video/G1IvqPLztxk/v-deo.htmlsi=kcMM1_wP39GL2qg7
What about grants for school like a professional career.
Where do I get the application for the grant
Please check my reply to your other comment. I hope you can find the help you need. And thank you for watching!
What organizations are not recognized by the IRS, the 501 (c), non-profit only??????
Some are designated as a subset of 501 that makes them ineligible. Or grassroots organizations are named that because they don’t have an IRS designation yet.
Are these Economic Development Agency grants and Research & Development
They’re a part, but not the whole of this video.
WOW, GREAT INTEL!!! Thank you . I have a Preservation conservation nonprofit called "How We FIsh Florida" Im looking for grants in Florida.
How can I get a grant for a small business for transportation for senior citizens?
It’s very easy to get if only you can consult the rightful agent ❤
I always advise starting as close to your service territory as possible. I've used these three links in videos (and your comment has given me an idea for another one!): (1) your nearest econ dev't agency might have grant dollars, find them at www.eda.gov/economic-development-directory; (2) your nearest small biz devt ctr will have biz growth training and maybe some grants, find yours at americassbdc.org/; (3) free biz mentoring from retired execs, www.score.org/
I would have to go on a web site. I don't know what it is and have no username and password that I know of.
Which website were you thinking of? Findhelp.org doesn't require an account or password.
What about a small limbloss meeting/ class, information once a week to help the disabled is this considered a small business or non profit?
Please see my reply to your other comment. I think the same resource answers this question?
Are there grants for profit, home Healthcare Agency startup
Check with your state or local economic development agency (a government office). Each state has its own goals to see businesses grow, and of course healthcare is important everywhere! They might have grants available, especially for businesses owned by women, minority business owners, and veterans.
Which of these grants, etc. will be available still in January, 2025 and on.
Non-government grants will likely maintain their regular schedules. I am closely studying federal government changes to share with everyone in 2025.
I have a question I'm on government assistance and work part-time I'm also applying to go to college but I need work on my car is there anything that will help you with car repairs???
Try the findhelp.org website I mention in the video. There might be something there. Not sure, but it's free to search.
Do you help people living outside of the US?
I don’t have a consulting service, but I am working on videos for grant opportunities outside the US. Thanks for watching!
Is it globally outside US?
The grants in this video are US-based. I'm working on ways to show grants outside the U.S.
Is this grant also available for Nigeria.
In this video, no. I'm working on a video that might help you to find grants in Nigeria.
@@grantchatter Thank you I would be interested in this. I might be moving to Nigeria soon.
I have an older video on grants for farmers. I’m updating those, to make sure the grants are still active.
Hi, I am a daughter of a Veteran survivor. But I am a filipino, my mother married to a Veteran. Can I avail a grant to come to the USA?
There might be services near you that can answer that question. Try the website findhelp.org, which I showed how to use in this video (not a promotion; I'm just impressed with the level of information available for free): ua-cam.com/video/Vf8NDBQRKwE/v-deo.html
What about rent assistance.
Please see my reply to your other comment. I hope that can get you the help you need.
The BEST Way to Get Local Support When You’re in Need

@@grantchatter Thank you!
Which regions are eligible to apply
The description below the video has a list, under "Other Links" to connect you to sources near you.
WHAT ABOUT PEOPLE THAT TRY ALL THESE GRANT'S,BUT WHEN THEY GET TO YOU THERE'S NO MORE FUNDS
That does happen. Many more requests come in than they have money to give.
I've tried. :(
I filled out alot and was pretty excited thinking at least one has to hit right?

@@grantchatter I googled what you said in your video & it got me nothing, is what I'm saying.
What point in the video are you referring to?
@@grantchatter are you just messing with me? did you read the 1st message! you said Google "grants for home repairs in YOUR TOWN" when I did that no grants came up just contractors who want to be paid.
No, you said that. Read my first response to you and watch that video.
Our culture does like the immediate answers that online services provide. You’re right; that leaves a lot of people disconnected, sadly.
