This draft is very even and i don't see Richmond giving up all those picks for an injury prone fin o Sullivan, It is most likely that they will trade their later picks for future firsts
Plenty of players have been injury prone in their junior years, Joel Selwood is an example. Your not going to get high future first rounds picks for later picks unless teams want those later picks for academy and NGA's.
That Richmond north pick swap actually makes so much sense for both teams. Norths rebuild would complete with the additions of Luke Trainor, Armstrong and another gun - they’d just need time then and Richmond would be setup with absolute elite talent over two drafts. Smart call
Richmond are not going to give up 6,10&11 for 2 and F1st. Absolutely ridiculous. The difference between 2&6 is minimal. Either 6&20 for 2 or not at all.
Look at the Blue Abroad video from 1 day ago ''Carlron's Pick 3 master plan revealed'''...Dylan Alexander argued for FOS while Pommie argued passionately for Sid Draper.... The whole idea of going to number three in the draft was to give the midfield a point of difference...I.e. Pace/,Burst out of stoppage
Picks 6, 10 & 11 for pick 2, and a future 1st is way off the mark. There is little difference between pick 2 and pick 6 this year. Richmond's Pick 24, and a future 4th, for North's future 2nd, and future 3rd is more likely. It would give North the extra pick they crave, without having to part with pick 2. Richmond may only want to take 7 picks this year.
With the way this mock draft went for both clubs, I think they'd both be pretty happy with the trade. I can see North being more hesitant to do the trade due to them maybe wanting to hold onto their future 1st to allow for a big player trade next year.
Understand as a Richmond Supporter you want to keep all your picks. But think about this. You could potentially get another Dustin Martin and Trent Cotchin all over again. Plus have the first 2 picks next year too or at least 2 top 5 picks to add to that. All the top 5 picks this year are all gun midfielders and won't be available at pick 6.
Hey mate great work it’s hard to see Richmond dropping out of the draft that early but could be worth it, the players u had them taking were on the money I like Carlton getting draper as every one calls him a pod to our midfield
At most i could see richmond giving up 10 and 18 for pick 2, which north wouldnt take The draft is too strong and deep to be giving up 3 picks especially if harry Armstrong is available at 6 like youve projected
I think the potential trade works a lot better for Richmond than the previous idea of getting 2 for 6&20. I noticed a lot of North fans didn't like the idea of giving up 2 at all so I doubt they would like this much better. I personally think it would suit both clubs, Richmond get value differed to next year and North get more picks in what is supposed to be a strong draft, with the thought that it should finish the initial rebuild stage and progress to more targeted trades and free agents in the next couple of years.
Lalor at 1 then best mid available at 6. Therefore the added extras of 10 & 11 we can go possible mid help, but more run and strength. I go Hotton(x-factor) replacement for Bolton, then Bo Allan pace for half back/wing or mid help.
Port will not add yet another small forward , they took 2 in last year’s draft + Richards + Rioli + Byrne-Jones + McEntee . I would think Port would look at some class outside run as they have lost Karl Amon last year and will lose Travis Boak next year. Port have very little in the area of genuine wingmen.
…… Also Port would be considering Benny Barrett a small forward who is in Port’s NGA later in the draft or rookie list and of course the imminent return of Sam Powell-Pepper (although he’s not small , he is a high pressure forward)
Tigers definitely won't make that trade, absolutely ludicrous as a Tigers supporter. Give up 3 top 11 picks for 1 pick in a so called best draft in 20 years.
Carlton will not take Jagger Smith because he is just more of the same that we already have. [Cripps,Walsh,Cerra & Hewitt who are also 30 positions + accumulators... We need POD = price of difference] pace /explosion out of the middle coming out of the front of stoppages and that one will most likely be Sid Draper... Yes we would like FOS ideally for the similar attributes but he's a better Mark and kick as well as a goalkeeper
If this draft genuinely has as much depth as were being told I can’t see the need for Richmond to give up all those picks for pick 2, unless they really rate FOS as being that much better than every other midfielder they could pick up in the top 15. They’d probably be better to try and trade later picks to get into next year’s draft.
North are not interested in later picks for their future 1st. Their future 1st is looking to be a top 5 pick. Who would trade later picks for a top 5 pick lol.
A couple of those picks are pretty rogue, especially Melbourne. I am hoping eagles take either Allan or travaglia, so I hope you are wrong haha Lindsay would be handy too
My hope is that we dangle the future first round (maybe the future second too) and try to get a higher pick (4-9) to try and get another decent pick in this years draft.
I would be happy with that in theory! I wonder if our F1 would tempt a team out of their own top ten pick though. It’s a tough one. I wonder if we are more likely to trade into the 20-40 range if we rate it as even
I just went on about the same thing before I saw your comment so I don't think these people know that we need explosion and pace to balance out our midfield requirements
Armstrong, Smillie and Trainor w/Stevens as F/S. Boy that's a draft haul for North and I'd love that to happen fir my Roo's. Fills every need and from what I'm hearing the concussion speculation around Trainor has turned out to be just that. A wild case of Chinese whispers that's unfortunately put a cloud on his rankings. Loving your work mate! Keep up the good stuff!
I reckon Richmond goes into the draft with their full hand and just takes live offers throughout the draft. Last year we saw a lot of live trades in which clubs slid back for future picks. With such an even draft, clubs would have a very different ranking, and not until draft night could they know if certain players are still going to be there, so Tigers could just field competing offers all night. I reckon they'd do 10+11 for 2, but not 6. North should be desperate to get more than one decent pick in a plump draft so would do a lesser deal than the one you proposed.
North trading picks 2 and F1st for Richmond's picks 6, 10 and 11 is a SPICY MEATA BALL!!! Despite my displeasure at North trading F1st it's worth the risk and probably the right time to take said risk is getting this draft perfect. Both clubs get a massive premium for BOTH their respective rebuilds and where they are at and that's a really good deal
Love your work and appreciate your research but Wayno's in his own world. There's little difference between 2 and 6 this year so the Tiges would be potentially trading 10 and 11 for a 16 after F/S, NGAs in 2025.
I totally understand some Richmond supporters not liking this deal. With that many picks the Tiges can really bolster their future with this draft. Just remember North's future 1st will likely be a top 5 pick next year in another strong draft. If Richmond do this deal you can potentially get Dusty and Cotchin all over again, taking Lalor, FOS or Jagga. These guns won't be available at pick 7 (Pick 6). Then you get another gun next year on top of your own selection. Pick 2 and 1-5 next year for pick 6, 10 and 11. Maybe 18 gets involved with a swap of future 2nd or 3rd rounders. I don't see Richmond or North doing a deal with anyone else.
@@omertahir7436 you want more than us. No Tauru for you. We'll keep and still get a great mid at 6 ( Langford/Smillie). Then we just pull in the cream with 10 &11. More the merrier for us.
@@higgo267 At the end of the day the deal has got to be right for both teams. This is fair and reasonable. Pick 6 and 20 for pick 2 is not fair for North and you know it. That deal will never be done.
Norths pick 2 and future 1st for 6, 10 & 11 is ballsy to say the least, as a North supporter I would love that, Still think Pick 2 for 10 & 11 will happen, Richmond get 3 of the first 6 picks, North get access to the Key position players we need,
North trading pick 2 and next years pick which is most likely pick 2 or 3 for 6, 10, and 11 is insane. The only way North wins out in that trade is if they rocket up the ladder next year, which isn't happening, no matter how much I want it to.
Lalor has never had a fully footy preseason cause he always has cricket commitments. He said so in an interview... sooo yeah he is a potentially a top pick without fully focusing on footy... so yes untapped potential.
I get we probably arnt going to take 8 but why is everyone so keen on us giving up all or half of our top 10 picks and not the later ones in the round we don't need nths pick 2. I get they want more in this draft, but we don't have to over pay for a very even draft at the top especially when we likely get 1 of the elite guys regardless . It's a fun excersie but richmond already knocked back 2 for 6 and 14 so I just can't see us entertaining anything with pick 6 involved. it changes the entire landscape of the mock draft. Regardless love your work keep it up legend 👌

Tauru at 6? North would be pissed. Trainor has some concussion issues unfortunately and may slide. North ideally trade up and hope for Armstrong and Tauru. That would be a great result.
Dees are taking best available midfielder at 5, not Tauru. If Tauru is still available at 9, sure. But we need an elite mid after departure of Brayshaw and Tracc/Clarry now in their late 20’s. I like Langford at 5.
I think Tauru is a smart option for them there, because he won't get past the next few picks, they may rate others higher but to get them and Tauru they need to pick him first.

Great draft and could reasonably play out this way. What an unmitigated disaster for the eagles if this happens, proves they had no clue about this draft and couldn't possibly stand by their comments that they expect the kid they want to still be there. In saying that I'm a fan of Lindsay and would have to be the best if not 1 of the beat kicks in this draft. Be hard to pass on M.Reid if available tho
