Silent planet is one of those bands that stays in the pocket for an entire album.. which makes their breakdowns HEAVY as fuck. And they’re all super tight.
Greyhaven / Invent, Animate / Currents / Silent Planet at The End in Nashville on 3/14/2020 was the last show I attended before quarantine, pretty sure I caught COVID in those mosh pits...100% worth it
Been to far too many gigs where the drummer was playing dry/unlathed cymbals, and I couldn't hear them. Even big, properly mixed bands like Periphery and those djenty bois. Toss them to the jazzers and get some real pies.
Saw this guy live in Chicago. Played super smash bros and he destroyed me as palutena. I helped him tear down his set though and gave me his sticks. I still play with em when I practice
Man I remember seeing these guys at the Funhouse in Seattle open for Ongoing Concept. They blew the goddamn doors off the show and I was mesmerized by Alex's playing the whole time.
Yo! You're overdue for a Wyatt Stav video. No offense to the guy, but anyone who posts drum videos with amazing sound quality but has no mics on the kit...needs discussed. I know he uses mics now, but I'm curious to know about what magical powers he has to record drums so well with no mics. Im not trying to hate on him at all, I just feel like you could make a hilarious reaction! Keep It up!
🐐
Agreed. You're a legend
Alex! you're a beast of a drummer man! Legend!!! 🤘🤘🤘
I literally have conversations with you during these videos. It's more like a Zoom call.
"You might as well have a note pad up there"
Fuck. Yes. Craig.
Alex Camarena is proof that metal doesn't need to have double pedal to be super heavy and super technical. Guy is unique
I mean he does have a double pedal…

one of the most underrated drummers also such a humble and great dude!
The ‘firstborn / interlude’ video from this same show is INSANE
Yo Craig your content is amazing homie. Your banter never ceases to make me laugh. Keep it up- Cheers from Canada
I opened for Silent Planet twice And seen them several other times. They're one of my favorite live bands ever!
“His ghost notes sound programmed” LMAO that was my reaction too! Maybe this is why they actually let him play on the records 😂
🔥🔥🔥 We have more videos of Alex on our channel too if anyone wants to check them out.
MVP right here
Also, the mix in this video is incredible, the guy that mixed it is very talented and even made a video about how he did it !
thanks dude 🤘
@@thedrumengineer Of course dude ! I saw your video a few months ago and still remembered it ! Had to let people know :D
Sublime initial pause... wonderful work 👏😭👏😭👏😭

Do you remember the local?
Oi mate, I 100% caught covid at that show too! Kinda before it was cool honestly
@@christophermaynard528 I don't recall there being a local, but it's equally as likely that they made no impression and I've forgotten
Alex is the MF-ing ghost note king!! Huge inspiration.
“I know it’s not hard but I just got a problem”
Take that out of context
🤣
I’ve never heard of them before. This is like metal education every episode!
Alex is a "godlike" drummer! My favorite drummer, period! Such an unique style. Dem ghost notes...the groove...f*ckin hell! 🤘🤘🤘
YES i've been waiting for this for so long, Alex is so good
Would love to hear him on the Downbeat

Alex is out of this world good. You’ve got to watch that Firstborn video next. The live interlude they do in that song is 🔥
Alex has such a unique play style! Absolute legend 👌
Watching this literally as I walk to the mailbox to grab my DB package!! Get ready for unnecessary amounts of selfies!!
Another masterpiece! Thanks Craig! I’m worried about that hip, bud. Have you tried Yoga? When do we get the tell-all story about this depression?
It's the first time that I leave a comment but I always watch your videos, I love the way You analize drummers and how funny You are
Saw this guy live in Chicago. Played super smash bros and he destroyed me as palutena. I helped him tear down his set though and gave me his sticks. I still play with em when I practice
I used to kid myself that the smaller Extra Dry crashes had more cut but as much as I love my 17in ED crash, it's really quiet.
Craig should react to THE WINK he does. That song is just done so well on that stream
caught a date on your guys tour with ‘em. Probably my fav show I’d ever been to. Greyhaven, SP kublai and y’all
Extra dry works super well for left crashes in metal imo. I love my Zildjian 18 incher so much.
Love the quiet dry cymbals because you can heat the amazing shit he always does
Been a fan of Silent Plant for ages, definitely in my top 5
Craig rocking two floor toms GIVE IT TO US NOW
Fuck yeah finally Alex is here
4:28 you brought it back to within 1 second nice job
Man I remember seeing these guys at the Funhouse in Seattle open for Ongoing Concept. They blew the goddamn doors off the show and I was mesmerized by Alex's playing the whole time.
They OPENED for ongoing concept? Dang was that like 2012 or something
@@AndrewDRoyappa 2013 actually!
''materialized'' ghost notes
Huge respect man. Love your content so much, I gotta be honest silent planet is fucking sick.
Fucking nicest band in the scene. And their sound is huge!
Where the hell can I get those drum dampener things on his heads? They seem to be like the new moon gels....I want try em
the best drum cam he has
He’s rocking Anup Sastry’s setup circa 2013/14
Never been that early, I have nothing to say, dropped a like and greetings from Switzerland!
This guy is so smooth ffs
Oh, I miss Black Breath.
Sounds cool, really powerful stuff
Dat center of gravity tho....
Good ol gospel drummers!
Love This biggy boi. Dude can PLAY
this drummer is NOT a fart sniffer
dang I literally watched this video yesterday. Alex is the best.
I've been waiting for this
This slaps
I now fully expect the video to be stopped during the first 3 seconds
I dig the shit fucking out of this band animals at their instruments!!!
I know that the ride and the crash on the right were cracked at some point mid to early 2019
Why does he treat the drums like that, what have they done to deserve that!?
This video title wins 🤣🙌🏻
I'd never heard of this band before - what a fucking travesty. Thanks for the inadvertent recommendation, Craig.
You're in for a ride my friend
love black breath
Camarena > Mangini
Please, please, please, Eloy Casagrande Solo/ Subtraction live 🙏See the beast when he was very young
Hello Creg
this is a weird subgenre of reaction videos
