    That frame bag strapped to catch the handlebar swing is brilliant.

    Very well explained, even better than many other videos presented by native speakers of English here on UA-cam.
    Thank you so much👍

    Thanks for the lucid and thorough treatment of a topic that is not explained frequently. I particularly needed to see the charts of minimum and maximum tire size for the given internal bead width.

    Great content and really informative! Bought a classic bike and twice got the wrong tire, before I learned 26 is not always 26". 😄

      Thanks - glad you like it. :)
      I couldn't find a cameraman for recording, so wasn't sure if it would all be clearly visible and explained.

    Talking about road performance tires...do you know by any chance what's a recommended tyre pressure for 23mm tires mounted on 25mm rims?

      Hi Luis,
      Here is my article about the optimal tyre pressure - with a rough ballpark pressure chart:

      Hi,
      See the tyre sizing standards article linked in the video’s description.
      It explains the sizing, and which tyre widths range can fit which rim width.

    I need new rear rim for my Trekking Bike (Focus Marakas), my original rim dimensions are 662-19C and I have ordered 662-21 . It's only little bit wider. Will the rim fit on my bike? Tire dimensions are 700x40C.

      If there's not a lot of room (less than a few mm), then it's always a test-and-see if replacing a rim for a wider one.
      If there's plenty of room, then no worries.
      Details on the tyre sizing, and tyre & wheel fit are given in this article:

    on some sharts tey say i can put a 23 size wheel on a 17 mm rim=? but you write minimum is 25? can i still use 23?

    • @BikeGremlinUS
      @BikeGremlinUS  Рік тому +1

      My chart is "conservative," i.e. it's what works with every tyre and rim combination I've seen. Going "one step" over or under in rim size, compared to what's recommended in the chart works fine most of the time, with some common sense (for example, make sure your tyre is not underinflated if you are going with a wider rim).

    Hello i can put smart sam 2.6 on my 23mm internal rims

    • @BikeGremlinUS
      @BikeGremlinUS  Рік тому +1

      Hi,
      It is on the wide side for that rim, but I would expect it to work fine.
      P.S.
      I wrote an article with tyre and rim width table charts:

      See the link in the description. I couldn't fit all the sizes on the screen without making it way too small, but it's on my website.

    Wow my back rim is 13.5mm and my front is 15mm.

      It happens. :)
      On a more serious note: rims needn’t be identical.
